Erica DFor the second time now I have been charged 24$ for bringing back a rental truck at half a tank of gas because that is the level I received it! It's obviously a money grab with U-Haul! Even after spending over 2000$ with U-Haul in 6 weeks your company still has to rip me off for an extra 50$ not to mention that someone stole my 75$ back brace that I forgot in the first truck I rented and dropped off at 96th in Surrey. I would never recommend U-Haul to anyone after this horrendous ordeal I've had.

IAN STwo things, the truck had old 12volt plugs not really compatible with the new phones. The standard headlight s are adequate but really could be upgraded to LED. For safety.
Roderick HCheck-In was supposed to be in the A-1 hotel is now in the cannabis store next door. It had a very strong odor. It would be nice if the check in could be at the A-1 hotel or the A-1 gas station. I also paid by debit and the clerk did not know how to do the refund. He had to contact someone else, but sold to other customer until I told him I had a long drive home. I've been was happy with the other U-Haul location I used so suspect this one is unusual.

IAN SWe had to go back and forth between 2 stores multiple times to get the truck main store sent up to cannabis store wifi signal wasn't great took 30 minutes to get thru it had to go back across street to get keys and then back again across the street to get the truck The truck was dirty and had garbage in it and the servtlight came on as soon as we pulled out of the lot it stayed on the full moving trip which was luckily short there solution was to park it and call road side assistance which is great if I hadn't been moving right then and needed the truck

Wayne NThe vehicle was off the alignment, I have to drive it with a 20 degree tilted steering wheel, the vehicle was shimmering at 120 km.. The fuel was not full tank, I was made to travel 300 kms to pickup the truck and travel another 300km I wasted almost 6 hours to get the vehicle despite having a reservation for 15 days earlier. It is just a unhappy experience.

Deb CIt was a bit confusing to pick up the keys. The Inn (where Google says pick up was) has a sign saying to pick up the keys at the gas station. I went to the gas station, and they said go across the street to the cannabis shop. So I went back across the street. The attendant in the cannabis shop was very helpful and knowledgeable, and got me set up quickly. Overall I had a great experience, although the signage was confusing. I will definitely rent here again.

Samantha BWorst organized for picking up, had to go back and forth to one building then back. Pick up was supposed to be at 9 am and did not let the keys until 10 am. You need to have one spot to pick up and drop off in a town. Not multiple locations.

Wendy CThe people before us smoked in the cab and the truck floor was not clean and smelled like rotten food. We had to line the entire truck with cardboard sheets. Customer service/in-person check-in and check-out was great though and the guy didn't ignore our observations. I will use this location again.
LESLIE GNo one around at drop off. Even though I paid close to 300 dollars for the rental I was charged for being a meagre 1.6 miles over the milage. Pretty sad as it was not a in town travel but to a different city. Your company assessed the milage in the quote so 1.6 miles is a minimal difference.
Jane CEnsure that the truck rental has air filled tires and that the windshield does not have any cracks, or chips in. The person helping me at the pick up location (Cannabis Shop) was very helpful but DOES NOT GET PAID TO HELP!!! When I called to extend my rental the individual on the line (reservation assistance, not at my location) was rude and unhelpful.

The cannabis guy was surprised. Furthermore, when I dropped the truck off, I was not allowed to bring my child in the store with me because it’s a cannabis store. GREG SThe location itself was fine. No issues. I do however have issue with U-Haul as an entity. The truck worked as it should all went good with that. But details like getting charged for one extra mile. I realize it won't break the bank but really? I returned the truck with more fuel than was in it, I returned it a day early, and I had to pick it up from a location farther than the one I wanted to. Maybe that put me over on mileage? Did U-Haul take that into consideration? You really have to work on your customer service. I mean really. Get a clue

Andy CWe had topped up the fuel and were a bit over what it was when we collected it yet they told us they couldn't compensate for the extra fuel. It's worth nothing that when we picked up the truck the fuel gage was slightly under what it was supposed to be. If you can calculate a fuel amount penalty for not having enough fuel surely you can give credits for overfuelling. Even if it was a credit with uhaul against future rentals that would be better than nothing. UHAUL needs to do better.

I had to walk back and forth a large highway multiple times for the pick up; the pick up location was at a moral, sign says keys at gas station, gas station says pick up and paperwork at pot shop, pot shop sends me back to gas station for gets.

Kirk TThey had a lot of trouble figuring out the mileage so returning the truck took much longer than it should have. All in all, with having my pick up location changed twice, having to return for the dolly, truck not being properly equipped for the weather and the slow process, I was VERY UNHAPPY with my rental experience and would be reluctant to use your company again.
Kassandra MPickup was unorganized, ended up going back and forth to 2 locations 3 times. Wiper blades did not work, just narrowly missed a snow storm, this was quite worriesome. The windshield seemed to be recently replaced as it had tape on the top but cold air still seemed to be whistling in. The truck served is purpose and ran fine but, the wipers not working could have landed us in a unfortunate situation.

Tammi FReport an accurate number on mileage. I have not received a final email to confirm my charges (4 days later). My credit card has been overcharged. I used 161 kilometers and have been charged for approximately 285 miles. I spoke to manager and was told to come back tomorrow. I came back to learn that the Uhaul hadn't been completely processed as key was still in the drop box and workers are out of town and will complete process when they return. I was told to wait for another email that demonstrates adjustment on mileage and charges to my credit card and this may take 1 week to appear.
Tina RWe drove up from Victoria to Port Alberni to be at the rental office for 10. The person was not there it took him awhile to get to us. We had to cancel as the weather was so bad, I was assured that I would get the same deal. I’d booked a 20ft, I was assured that it would be there. It was not there and was given a15 ff truck. The original price was $147 and that was not what I had chosen. My move turned out quite expensive. Instead of working with me to get what I was promised, you refused. I had to leave a lot of my belongings as they didn’t fit in the van. In all a very disappointing day. No I won’t recommend you, in fact I’m taking steps to talk to others about your bad customer service

Janet JHad reserved blankets and a dolly - none were available at the pick up location and had to travel to another uhaul depot to get. Also, had to go between two buildings, a couple of blocks apart, to get service. However, staff were very friendly and did their best.

Berni LNot a thing. The Lads treated me with respect. They understood the situation I was in and accommodated the difficulties I faced. Their trust in me created my trust in them. I look back to the situation and realise they were a part of my 'team of Movers'. They made me proud to know them. I'd recommend them to everyone who has to get a moving team. They're more than just a truck rental Co, they're all part of a hassle-free move for me. Thank you once again!
Richard KTerrible experience. The pick up location is a cannabis store! And it absolutely stinks in there like stale cigarette and cannabis smoke. It was so bad that I stood outside in the rain with the door opened to talk to the guy working. Plus it tooo forever has he does the "paperwork" on an old cell phone with terrible internet connection (according to him). Plus they make you wait while they help customers to the cannibas store so your uhaul order times out on their cell phone so he had to start over a few times. The worked informed me that supposed to be the gas station across the street or the hotel. But they send everyone to him. The hotel has no lobby just locked doors with blacked out windows. And the gas station where I went first (as I wasn't comfortable going to the cannibas store) sent me to the cannabis store. Absolutely terrible experience. I hated every minute of it! Plus the plug in for the trailer light was to short and they offered no solution. So we left with no lights hooked up which is soooooo unsafe. So I called the other place in town Twin City and he told us to come pick up an extender for the lights to work.
Kendra Ktruck was filthy,when i asked for moving blankets was told none were available. When I opened the box; moving blankets were scattered all over, obviously the uhaul agency did not open,inspect or clean this unit. Mouldy hamburger buns, coffee cups, tissues throughout cab of truck

Tom Hthe Port Alberni location was not my choice but was where the equipment was available and I really appreciate having it available. The reason for the low rating of this location was that the site is not staffed; customers have to travel down the street to another site. Once there, the U-Haul rep had to be called in to get the keys for me. Given that Pt. Alberni is a small centre this may not be unreasonable/unexpected. It was a nuisance, though. Once the staff member was located, he was very professional and friendly. There was no walk around inspection of the vehicle at the time of pick up.

Paul Dour reservation was for 8am and we didnt receive the keys till 11:30am. We drove it in town for 3 hours and the odometer said we drove almost 200 miles. we were overcharged and the person we got the keys from was rude and did not help at all and sent us on our way. I am super upset with the service and not being helped to deal with this situation.
Selina NThe owner of the store tried to overcharge me 3 times, the vehichle had under 1/4 of a tank, he then tried to overcharge me per km then tried to overcharge me for the fuel usage. the vehichle had no windshield washer fluid and was way overdue for an oil change
zackary vWhen we arrived to drop off the truck there is no front desk. No entrance, nothing. A number on the door to call went to the "front desk" of the shady hotel we were dropping the truck at. Press 4 for uhaul and it goes to a message at a bottle depot with no mention of uhaul. I tried calling the number sent to me by "Rai" in my email and it was the exact same runaround. I emailed the address sent to me in my email and nothing. My husband went down the street half a block to the store where a sign said you could pick up keys. A representative walked back up with him and informed him we were late and would be charged etc. then I spent almost 2 hours on the phone with uhaul and was put on hold 6 timed to speak with SIX people on the phone and the last representative I spoke with was an angel and extended our rental two days, because at this poimt we were now past our drop off time and put a "do not charge" override with her name. Thinking we were all set and things were fine we left the uhaul "store" and I got an email saying my credit card had been charged.... moving a family of four is hard enough and Uhaul has only added to the nightmare. I have a complaint in and am waiting for a call back.#3790761 and I hope I get a call back so I don't have to escalate this further. I am seeking a refund on those two extra days. I'm not paying for uhaul employees repeated mistakes.

SueZann WCheck engine light was on. We had to drive to a completely different town to pick up. This ended up costing us an additional $160 in gas and 3 hours of our day. I am not even remotely close to impressed with uhaul. I tried to deal with your traffic department and got tossed around to so many people I think I talked to someone in every province. Not one person was able or even considered trying to help. Your company has some of the worst professionalism I have ever seen. Absolutely terrible experience!!!!!! Will not recommend to anyone ever!!!!!!!!

Amarjit DCheck over your rentals better and be more helpful when a customer has a problem arise with the rental rather than dismissing it and refusing to come look. Picking up a uhaul is complicated at this location and had us driving back and forth between 3 different locations before we could get help. The sign at pick up location says to go across the road to the gas station, that person told us to go to the cannabis store, who then sent us back to the gas station, where the person then had to call a person from the original location to come help us. This process took about 30 minutes just to get the correct person to assist us with pick up.

Jennifer NGreat folks running the uhaul in port alberni. Easy going, no fuss or hassle. Way better than other Uhaul experiences that we have had.
SEAN CDriving in cold weather with the windows up and the heater on low, I had the distinct impression of the smell of gasoline and exhaust fumes in the cabin. In fact, I became drowsy after about 90 minutes -- a symptom of carbon monoxide. I liked the truck, the dealer, etc., but I think that specific truck needs to be examined for exhaust leakage through the heating system.
James SThey completely ripped me off giving no contract or paperwork. I signed nothing and it snowed heVily sat in driveway for 4 extra days. 17 total kms. They wanted 700 dollars for a ten foot truck that used less than 20 dollars in has. He didnt ask me 1 ? As per if i wanted the optional insurance or blankets or dollies . Just asked for my drivers license went in the back and copied it came back asked for a refermce . I wrote it down and said 250.00 dollars i paid cash . He passed me the key and i was done. So i thought. I realized i used it for a few extra days but then after calling customer service they said the area manager would make it rigjt and that fellow was very nice on the phone after waiting 70 minutes. Then the next morning sunday right before church he called and he was the biggest jerk ive ever spoken to. He pretty much said PAY YOUR BILL AND HUNG UP ON ME. He also called me liar saying i answered all the ?s so i said watchbthe video surveillance from the redford gas station Petro canada. And he says theres no audio after telling me i answered all the ?s. Flat out LIARS. I am a highlynrated google reviewer and will be telling the world this is ridiculous. 17km and used for maybe 8 total hours because they dont go anwhere in the snow. No chains provided. I tried shovellling. Salt. Kitty lotter. I grew up and learned how to drive in the snow. These guys at thisocation are complete CROOKS
