Have vehicle at location that is manned by employees not at some desolate run down location with huge pot holes and no communication other than a phone conversation where u wait 40 minutes to talk to someone if u have issues. I never use this service again.Thomas S.
Pick up and drop off was a nightmare. You need to change the way you do this. My location service was not located on my phone buy your program so I had to call when I picked up and that went well. Once again when I dropped off it did not recognize my Location and I had to call again and was on hold for 20 minutes then finally hung up drop the key in the box and left. Total BSBernard P.

The original truck we were given had a padlock on the back lift gate, and the key we were given to use did not fit into the lock. So basically the truck was useless to us. I sat on hold waiting to speak to someone who could help me switch trucks for OVER an hour. In addition to contacting uhaul directly, I also left a voicemail message for AB Enterprises, which I still haven't had a return call from. Unfortunately, and due to unforeseen circumstances, my children and I are being evicted from our home of 13 years. I wasted over an hour of time that should have been spent packing, to avoid losing our belongings.AMY S.
Preparation to drive is long and drawn out. Employ someone to check damage on vehicles instead of making the customer tell you. Making the customers put references is dumb. The credit card / drivers license / selfie should be enough.Thomas H.

The location was fine. U-HAUL's overall do-it-yourself rental system needs immense improvements. 45 minutes of my allotted U-HAUL time was wasted just trying to get the "check-in" portion completed. You all should be the ones taking pictures of the vehicle prior to a rental. YOU should collect the necessary information from a driver during the reservation process rather than prompting them while they are attempting to hit the road. Will never be using the self-service again.Jacob W.

The only thing I had an issue with was when I picked up the truck, even though I selected to pay later, the online pickup charged me right away. There should not be an option if you are going to charge me immediately anyway despite picking to pay later. Location was fine but the dolly & pads we reserved were not there & there was no way to contact anyone to get them. Them we got billed twice for the dolly & pads and I have contacted them 3 times with no resolution to the billing errors & no consideration for the inconvenience of not having those items during the move. Pick up instructions were not clear. Verification procedures were cumbersome. Not many people carry a passport with them and calling friends to verify you at 6:30 in the morning is not reasonable. Drop off procedures were equally cumbersome and could not access the on line account to complete the process very easily. While a nice service, I will prefer to do this with live people in the future. Also double charged my credit card. Hoping one charge gets reversed in a day or so.John W.

I ordered a furniture dolly and a appliance dolly and 24 furniture covers and when we went to pick up the truck there were 9 furniture covers in there and they were thrown all over the back of the truck ! There were no dollies in there and the back of the truck was unlocked and not secured ! I called the U-Haul no# and explained the situation and they sent us to the Merrillville store to get the missing items now we already had an extra 5 miles on the truck that we should not have been charged for. We waited there for 20minutes that have already eaten up 1 hour of our moving time and they would not give us anything until I gave them a name of who I spoke with so I had to call back and get a name the girl was Denise who called there store for me and Rose was the manager who authorized the equipment to be given to us for our move! At this point by the time we were taken care of and returned we had 10 extra miles on the truck which we should not have been charged for and we were 2 hours behind in our move ! The truck was returned that night a little late with both dollies in there and 21 furniture covers in it because that's what we were given not 24 ! The truck was locked and returned in better condition then what it was received in plus we filled the gas tank with more gas then what was in it when we picked it up ! Worst of all you guy's took out an extra 40.00 out of my account for being 2 hours behind in my move short on moving blankets and no dollies in there plus an extra 10 miles that I should never have been charged for !I am very upset because I am a good customer and should not have been charged the extra 40.00 and should have received a credit instead! I normally don't rent from this location, first of all. I tried calling them for days before my rental to confirm rental but they DO NOT answer their phones. I also like to confirm where I am going, but couldn't. When you arrive there is little to no direction and I drove around for 10 mins until i found a little sign that had a number on it. nobody is onsite. No office. No help with trailer. I hooked up this trailer that looked like it was from 1985. I was frankly embarrassed to bring this trailer to my event. I would not use this place again, if I had too.Jordan L.

The service was terrible they did not have the dollies or the blankets I had paid extra for I was informed that I would get that refunded (never happened) on a day where I was already stressed about the move I had to worry about something I already paid and set up a week in advance. My experience was TERRIBLE. I was told one pickup location and then you moved me 40 miles in a different direction.. then charged me extra money for extra miles!!!Chris S.

The parking lot is full of very large potholes that need to be filled.This location did not allow me to drop off u-haul truck at a facility closer to the destination of the move costing me 2X the mileage. When returning the truck the parking spot I was supposed to use was blocked by a pickup truck with a long trailer making parking it very difficult.Rae H.

Made a reservation for 9:00 a.m. and when I arrived no one was there. Called number and no one answered and left message for call back. Sat for 30 minutes and then called 800 number and was on hold for another 15 minutes and once answered was given another number to call. Left over an hour later than anticipated.Roger W.
The equipment I ordered was not in truck. Before ending shift check to ensure the equipment customer order can be located in truck when they pick up truck. There are so many pot holes in the area where the lockbox is that I fear something will be wrong with my vehicle soon. Did not feel safe or comfortable with trucks being located next to what looked like a juke yard. Ensure sufficient amount of gas is in vehicle especially if you're going to change someone's reservation twice to different location away from customers home.SHAKEILA L.

Let them know ahead of time that the pickup may be handled remotely. I rented a trailer and we did the transaction over the phone after I connected the trailer. They have cameras on site, so knew that I was there. May be different when keys are involved for a truck.Paul J.

I dropped of my trailer same day I rented it in Arizona. Got charged 10 days later for returning it in Indiana with an extra 350 on charges. I confirmed with drop off in Arizona they revived the trailer. I must have got rented again but I got charged for late and location drop off? Customer service said they will get back m to me in 3 days while my card was already charged.William R.

Was supposed to pick up in Lowell IN. Instead had to put 25 useless miles on truck because it had to be picked up in Crown Point IN. Don't make someone else go through this.STEVE M.
Inside dash and door was dirty but not a huge deal. I didnt expect it to be immaculate. I wish there was an option to drop it off elsewhere, when ordering online it did not give an option to drop it off at different location. Getting charged for doubled mileage was a result. This was for the 26' truck on the cargo trailer. Also the cargo trailer needs a hand crank stand, it was difficult for me to get it off the truck and set it on the ground with neck troubles.Kenneth T.
