Doing the check in and drop off via mobile was a bit too cumbersome and agitating but I guess when I have a lot going on, I'll remember to go to the counter instead.

David V.I reserved a van in advance for 4 days. Called to see if I could pick up early - could not because it was due back on hour before my pick up. Called 30 min before my pickup and it was not back. Was told they could not even guarantee that it would be brought back - they could not make the person bring it back in time. What's the point in reserving?

Then you changed our drop off points twice on us! And of course didn't care one bit but sure did take our money in a hurry! Horrible customer service and a clear don't care attitude!

Kurt C.We rented a van for a week for a local move, and extended the contract twice for a total of 3 weeks. We requested to extend the contract for a 4th week and were told that the van had to be surrendered because it was going to be returned to U-Haul and sold. We then reserved a different vehicle of the same size. We had to pay for gas and round-trip mileage totaling 24 miles to exchange the vehicles, in addition to losing an hour of rental time in the process. The van was returned on time, fueled and clean. When we asked for compensation for the additional 24 miles to exchange the vehicles our request was denied by the facility. We also learned that the location owner suspected us of potential vehicle theft because he had seen the van briefly parked at a home involved in the move 14 miles from the facility. Stalking your customers seems a bit creepy when a simple email would suffice.

Gordonbruce S.I rented a trailer from Ace Hardware in Traverse City. MI. I had car trouble and broke down and was not able to return the trailer on time. 10 minutes past return time I received a call in which the employee was rude an had zero concern for what may have happened. When we answered her call there was no, is there a problem, or what is happening. Her call began with, "this is uhaul you were supposed to have my trailer back by 10:45, where is it? We informed her we had car problems and the trailer is full and we are on our way to unload it. She responded, I have a reservation for the trailer and you must return it by 1:30. I explained the situation and she said you have a contract and must return it by 1:30. We explained that we would do our best. Less than 1 minute later she called and threatened us that we must have it back by 1:30. We asked if she would like us to unload our property on the road and return it. She responded " don't get an attitude with me" I responded that she had a bad attitude when we rented the trailer and that she was the one having an attitude today, as well. She then again told us we "had better have the trailer back by 1:30". I responded that I didn't know if she was just a disgruntled employee but that this isn't the correct way to handle this situation. She responded by hanging up. A half hour later another employee called to threaten again that we need to have the trailer back by 1:30. We then called corporate to complain and were told no that this isn't the way that they deal with this issue. Corporate then called Ace Hardware/Uhaul and they didn't answer her calls. She stated "I called two or three times and no body answers the phone." She put in notes to tell them to stop calling and harassing us. We explained that we completely understand because if it was us not getting our trailer reservation honored, we would be angry as well. But them attacking the other customer so that you now have two disgruntled customers probably isn't the best way to have handled this situation. I have been renting from Uhaul for 30 years and have never been late with a return or had any issues whatsoever. I have never received this kind of service from them and am surprised this is how this situation transpired.

David P.I wasn't informed that I would have to return the truck via app at pick up. The app wouldn't work for me because I paid cash, I spent nearly an hour trying to get someone to take the keys so I didn't have to return the next day. Little surprises like that ruin an otherwise good rental experience.
Kurt O.The 6x12 trailer I rented was very serviceable but beat to crap and missing the tongue jack. Employees had to lift the tongue to put it on my hitch ball. If I had to disconnect on the road for some reason it would have been impossible. No jack, no discount, paid insurance for what? Still happy with uhaul but let's get rid of the junkers in the fleet.
RODNEY H.The specific location was fine. Vehicle smelled like cigarette smoke. Main issue was that when I made the reservation over the phone, I was assured that I could drop it off at a location where I was moving to. When I went to drop it off, I was told I had to drop off at the location I picked it up from. So, I had to drive all the way back to where I picked it up which was already out of the way because there weren't closer locations with a truck and I had to pay for a bunch of extra miles.
