CARL MI was overcharged by one day, only had it for 2 days. I was charged for 3days. I may have been 5-10 mins behind, but this is unacceptable. very shaky at highway speeds 70-75mph. it needs brakes bad, not safe feeling. if not resolved, I will not rent with u-haul again. I will be using Penske from now on.
David MI’ve used this location for drop-off of UHaul equipment several times; staff here is always very friendly & helpful. I paid for an extra (5th) dsy for the truck due to predicted snow on my unloading day. As it turned out, I did not need the extra time and returned the truck within the standard four day rental period. Would have been nice to receive a refund for the in-needed day, but was told “no”…

The agent came out to the vehicle and hooked up the trailer for me. Everything worked out just how we wanted it to with her help.

ANTHONY GThis truck would hardly run, the associate said there was a 1/4 tank of gas in the truck, as soon as I pulled out of the driveway the fuel light came on. I put 10.00 of fuel back in the truck 3 miles before I returned it from my 16 mile trip. They marked me that the fuel was low which I returned it with more fuel than when I picked it up. The employee while trying to check me out was having a personal conservation with one of her parents friends about squirrles, and trying to explain the check in process with me. Never again will I rent from here again. I will warn everyone else about it too. You will get charged for every small thing.

GLENN RGood Morning, Friday I stopped into the Chums Corner store to rent a U-haul tow dolly. As a first U-haul experience it was not good to say the least. It took two hours. The bright side was that I was in good hands. Most of the problem seemed to be the U-haul web sight and not knowing what inventory that was there. I completely understand the detailed information that it needs to rent things out. However it almost seems like guessing at a shell game to get where you need to go in the end. And then once you finally get it right the computer locks up. In the end it worked out. Brian and Hunter went above and beyond for customer service. Hopefully I got there names right. Digging out the dolly in knee deep snow and moving around other trailers to get it out. Wile its 4 degrees out on a snowy winter night. Brian even lent me his personal trailer harness because I missed placed mine. His calm and positive demeanor helped get through the process. Its hard to find good people. I cant thank them enough for there service.

ROBERT KThe heat in the truck we had didn’t work. We moved on a freezing snowy day and it would have been wonderful to thaw our toes. Also the truck smelled strongly of gas. I would check to make sure that it doesn’t have a gas leak. We dropped the truck off with more gas in it than when we dropped it off yet we got charged for gas!!!!

MICHAEL WMichelle was extremely rude, I was given a different trailer than what my contract said. I was also given a trailer that had pre existing damage. I have used u-haul a couple of times and always went through the charleviox location. I will never be using this ace hardware service again.
STARLY SThis fee for the license recovery is rudiculous as well as the environmental fee. I also found that the gas mileage is less than 7 MPG which is observed on a 15 foot gas truck hauling very light weight. Semi trucks get better than that. I payed just over $90 to drive a total of 42 miles everything included, way to high.

CONNIE WThis was not the location I'd selected to rent from, but a truck broke down at the place I wanted so they moved my reservation. The truck was clean and in good shape. Staff were rushed, but helpful at check-in. I was aware the U-Haul counter would not be open when I returned the truck, which was why I did not want to rent from this location. Return went poorly, as I had poor cell service for the return. I called and was placed on a 30-40min hold, which was not useful. Nowhere on the vehicle could we locate the website info for return. When we tried to talk to staff, we learned the store opener was not even there on time for the store to open. It was not convenient, which I knew from a previous return to this location, which was why I did NOT pick it, but I didn't get a choice. :/

CHERYL AAs this review/comment relates to UHaul not the Ace Hardware location. Fix your app, or get rid of it, as it is useless. The app would not work during the check-in process and would not work for returning the vehicle.
SCOTT JI used my rental truck for 21 miles. When I returned, the clerk told me I needed to fill the tank. I told the store manager that the fuel gauge was reading not completely full and that the gauge when I returned was at the same mark. I was told to fill the tank or be charged $15 for fuel. I drove the truck across the parking lot, put $10 worth of gas into the truck and returned the truck. The gauge didn’t move but the clerk and store manager were now satisfied. DO NOT RENT A U-HAUL TRUCK FROM THIS LOCATION. ACE IS NOT THE PLACE ON US31 S.

LAURA ANot about the location but about Uhaul. I had an online reservation and had filled out all information, at the location I had to answer question again including insurance and sign forms as well as give them my credit card and ID? I had already done this online and the process just repeated itself, putting the timeline behind as I had reserved for 8:30a pickup and had to slog through paperwork again.
JOHNATHAN JI reserved a 6x12 trailer that ends up not being available. The location I rented from did a great job finding a 5x8 at another location. Both locations were good. Unfortunately a 5x8 barely fit what I needed to move. Having more inventory in Traverse city would be helpful in making sure to get what is reserved.
