I got charged for extra gasoline when I filled it right there at their location, in front of cameras. The truck had a full tank when I was finished. Not sure why the charge???

Lindsay K.Your website has issues. I initially reserved a 5x8 trailer at this location, however, I subsequently received an email stating that I had to pick up the trailer in Williston. Completely unsatisfactory. Barre is a 40 mile round trip, Williston is a 150 mile round trip. Do the math. If you cannot honor your reservation at one location, then ensure the item is delivered there. Do not arbitrarily change locations and expect the client to understand without any explanation or option. I chose to cancel the reservation and reserve the smaller trailer.

carolynn S.After discovering a tire issue on the trailer he had processed for me to rent, Armand set me up with another trailer. This meant providing me with a bigger unit as that's all that was available. I was not charged extra for better trailer! Great service from a great staff.

Also somewhat creepy feeling on both sides that some computer assumption made the choice to notify unrelated people with semi personal info. What if I'd been running from an abusive husband? You'd have handed over a new address out of state. Not good.
VICTORIA R.My original pickup location was moved to almost an hour away. This was extremely inconvenient since I was flying into an airport that was within walking distance of the pick-up location. I was not planning on using a rental car, and the truck was going to be my only transportation. The rental went off without any problems, but this scheduling conflict has left me with a less-than-acceptable opinion of U-Haul. The woman who helped with my trailer upgrade however was outstanding.

judi J.This rental experience was nearly catastrophic for us. I booked a 15' truck with trailer online at the Tunbridge VT site, about a month ahead. It said clearly on that reservation that that truck may not be available at that location, that I would get a call. I was nervous about that so I called the Tunbridge U-Haul direct and they told me I would get a call, the company has to move trucks around and she couldn't guarantee that they would have that size truck there. I asked when I would get confirmation and they said probably about a week ahead of my rental. I told her that would be too late to make other arrangements if I found out then that I couldn't rent what I needed but she couldn't help. I was going to call U-Haul direct but in a few days I got an email confirming my reservation. It said in the email that the pickup location was changed to AJ Sunoco in Barre. Nowhere in this email did it alert me that they also downsized me from a 15' truck to a 9' van. That is a fundamental and essential piece of information to leave out. Simply saying 'heres a link to view your reservation' with this info hidden there, is not adequate. If the info on the location change could be in the body of email, why not the vehicle size change? Especially when it is ridiculously obvious that a 9 ft van was not going to suffice if I had reserved a 15 foot. There was also no transparency regarding the lack of truck availability in VT, nor the fact that if you are more than an hour late to pick up your vehicle they cancel the reservation. So while I was waiting to try to fix this disaster I witnessed the owner dealing with two other people who were stranded without trucks they thought they were picking up, one guy did come hours after his pickup time, and calls from other U-Haul dealers in the state desperately looking for inventory too. I was "lucky" that it was a sunny weekend and I got the last highsided tow trailer along with the 9 foot van, which conveniently for U-Haul, together cost way more than my original reservation. To add salt to the wound, the after-hours drop off process was unnecessarily painful. No more just dropping the key off, now large signs threatened fees if we didn't return the rental online on our phone. The trailer return went ok, but took long requiring us to take pictures to show it was clean, and where we parked it presumably so the next person could find it, as if in the dark any of this was helpful to anyone. Plus you can't rent a trailer without the attendant verifying the hitch etc. It's not like this is a city bike you can just rent on your phone and just drive away, what a ridiculous waste of time after a long exhausting day. Then of course returning the van wouldn't work, the process locked up trying to upload the milage and fuel gauge pics. So after 20 minutes of struggling we threw the keys in the lockbox and got up early the next day to call AJ's to make sure our return went ok. He assured me it was fine, they have cameras to verify times and that the online process doesn't work most of the time so no fees. AJ's folks were great, U-Haul owes me $$ in my opinion with the bait and switch on my rental, buyer beware!!!
Anne C.The email pick up and drop off links are HORRIBLE! They are confusing and it doesn't work. It wasn't just me, there was another person picking up and he couldn't get it to work. THANK YOU to the guy working at AJ's who helped both of us out and was late to an event. The drop off wasn't any better, it wouldn't let me upload the mileage and gas reading. I will never do a remote pick up for a uhaul EVER. I may not deal with UHAUL ever.

Scott L.My pickup and return were this past Sunday. So I used the option to use the smartphone pickup process., My cell reception there was not good enough to get through all the steps of the pickup process. So I called U-Haul customer service. My wait time to speak to someone was over an hour. This was very frustrating. Same thing for the return. Unable to complete the process and another long wait to speak to someone to help. Please figure out to make this work for this location.

joseph J.To educate all uhaul employees (not this location). I was told I could split my payment using 2 cards, however that is not true. The folks at AJ's went out of their way to help me. But the people on the phone gave me differing answers. Very frustrating and embarrassing when trying to pick up the truck. Also very frustrating that I had to drive 70 out of my way one way to pick up the truck and trailer. This resulted in an additional $121 cost because I went over mikes.
michelle L.This location was excellent. However, before finding this rental we had a terrible experience with U-Haul. Our original reservation was changed to a different location, but when we went to pick up the van, we discovered that the agent failed to change the location in the record. The automated system did not work because we were at the “wrong†location. After waiting for 45 minutes on hold for customer service, the agent hung up on us and never called back. We tried to call back but the hold time was over an hour. We went home with no van. Horrible customer service for the automated truck rental. People are sitting in empty parking lots waiting for help that never comes. Really not ok.

I was in a hurry and the place was busy, so I didn't have time to deal with it at the moment. But, overall, this location was great. No issues. I do have issues with U-Haul overall, however, if anyone would care to contact me about those.

Some of my stereo equipment got wet as well as some boxes that expensive painting where in. I need to examine the contents to check for damage but can't do that until we get a new house which could be a while.

Lucinda G.They didn't have the 24 blankets I reserved, only 12. The drivers windshield wiper fell off the first swipe of the window. There was no mounting tab in the blade. Instead of owning these mistakes he blamed Uhaul.
