The Hammonds Plains (Nova Scotia) location the guy was very friendly but seemed very unorganized. The truck we rented also smelled like cigarettes and I could not drive it, had to get my boyfriend to drive it without me.

Owner just wanted me to pass him the keys and started at 4pm (I just started unloading my belongings into storage) on the day before the rental was due back he was calling me saying he needs the truck as soon as possible because he has someone who needs it to go to Quebec. I ended up having to return the truck 18 hours early just to stop the calls. Very very unprofessional and very dissatisfied with the return experience. What if something happened like a breakdown of I needed to extend the rental, he would have not stopped. I was that flustered I ended up leaving the keys to my storage locker on the keys for the truck. Worst rental drop ever

Friendly and helpful, but on a busy morning it takes SO long to check out each customer... the U-Haul system needs improvements and/or a bit more staff needed here on peak days.

The gentleman that was helping us was super helpful and very nice! Had some difficulties trying to load our car on the trailer, he made sure the car got on the trailer and showed us everything we need to know. If I can give 10 stars I would! Thanks again!

Not change my first reservation with out telling us. We ended up paying more for a truck because we couldn't get the van we wanted. We ended up wasting most of a day because of the mistake and the staff in the Halifax location (Bayers lake) were overworked and as a result rude and short with us and other customers.

The location showed as being in Sackville, once booking was confirmed, a pickup location miles away in Bedford was provided. This added at least 22 kilometres to the trip . At $0.89 a kilometre and $2/L for gas, it was an unwelcome additional expense. Also, 24/7 mobile pickup and drop off is a hoax. The pickup didn't work, so I had to go in. When I returned after hours, the lot was closed off by other trucks in the driveway. I attempted parking close by, did the mobile return and was instructed to place the key in the box near the main entrance… no box! So as not to have to rack up another 30 some Km to my home (that is only 4km away from the originally selected location), I had to call my daughter to pick me up at 1am. By 8am the company called me looking for the keys, which I had to keep on me (the rental was until noon). After driving back and forth for hours and God only knows how much fuel expense, I finally returned the key. When I mentioned all of this, the guy shrugged his shoulders a simply said “at this location we do regular business hours”. To top it all off, additional coverages were charged to the rental. Only $5, so probably a hope that I'd overlook it. I didn't because slimy little corporate moves like that are repulsive. It was refunded, but an extra step nonetheless. Now they're asking for a review as of my time is free. This review is for future renters, keep an eye on your final bill, and don't trust the mobile app.

I booked for pickup in Elmsdale. Was forced out of my way, and had to pick up truck early. They didn't have the boxes or dollies that I requested either, adding more stress to our trip. U-Haul then had the gaul to charge me for extra days and extra gas for their fuck up.

The equipment is stored in the mud. The trailers do not have jacks, so customers must drag a 3 ton car jack through the mud to attach the trailer. My rental was returned on time , however the owner of this location did not record it until 3 hours later, resulting in me being charged another days rental fee. Yes , I did return it during bio hours directly to an employee/owner. Call Center was great, however I should not have been forced the call there in the first place.

The service at the pick-up and drop off locations was fine, but the customer service from head office has been brutal. I was charged for fuel even though I picked up the truck on empty and returned it with fuel and have the paper work to prove it. I have spent hours on hold trying to get this rectified and still a week later, no solution. Three times I was hung up on while customer service tried to transfer the call. In the end, nothing has been done.

Ali, the owner of the pickup location, is a great guy. Super friendly, quick to get me set up and out the door. Almost didn't have time to drink the cup of tea he offered me! 100% I would recommend this location and I will use them again.

Vehicle handles and steering wheel were quite sticky, my card was overcharged, I booked for 4 hours but was told I needed to return it earlier (I had to rush my experience to return it and hour before my reservation ended.) Customer service at this location was wonderful though, a very kind man for sure!

Did 24/7 pick-up and set time for 7:30am. Got a call the day before and pick up location was changed. Was not told there was a change to pick up time and self-pick up still planned. Later checked app and said pick-up was now 08:15. Arrived at 07:30 and the location had its driveway blocked off and self pick up was not possible. Called uhaul and they said “truck was not prepared for self pick up” and we would have to return at 0900 when the location opened and that she would refund the “$50 guaranteed pick up fee”, which she never did (no evidence of this fee or removal of this fee on contract/receipt). She was pleasant on the phone but what she said/did was not helpful. The owner at the location was there when we arrived at 08:40 (again) and was very pleasant and quickly got us on the way but we still wasted 1.5hrs. There seems to be a communication issue between uhaul that organizes the trucks and the individual companies that rent them out, and the customer that should be reviewed at a larger level. I said I would recommend that location to a friend because I don't want to blame the individual owner for a larger company issue. This location would benefit from a prominent sign above the entrance. The app would benefit from allowing individual locations to add helpful personalized information about how pick up and drop off works at their specific location.

Inside vehicle was not real dirty but yet not clean and smelled of cigarette smoke. Upon reflection I'm not sure the mileage rate was obvious to me. I was surprised by the rate after the fact. May have just been my over sight. Not this location for sure.

I was charged for 2 days because I was 20 minutes late. The operator couldn't provide me with a receipt before I left. I was charged for safe drive even though I said I didn't want it on the online order. A terrible experience. I want a refund for these items.

All people involved in the call centres were helpful and the gentleman at Royal Automotive who put me in the 26 foot truck and closed out the transaction was exceptional. Great attitude and professional- a great team player If I need anything else, I will go to him.

We attempted to drop our uhaul off at the designated drop off location in Bedford ans were told they didn't take trailers… ultimately, stop allowing customers to book things that aren't possible. This was a huge waste of my time, as then we had to go to another location where the staff didn't help us get the trailer off our hitch ending in us unhooking the hitch and driving away from it to get the trailer off. It's unfortunate that there aren't many other options for renting moving trucks because I would hate to give uhaul my money ever again.

There was no acceptable explanation fir the charges. Adequate information was not divulged to me about the billing when I picked up the truck. That was very surprising and inconsiderate to me. Very poor way of running a business. I would have expected an explanation of all charges before I rented.

I would like someone to call me because it was a real disaster picking up the uhaul. I came at 9 am to pick it up but it wasn't there. They told me it was at Bayer's lake location so I went there. Once there, they sent me back to the original location!!!!! I lost 3-4 hours of my time and drove in the dark to a place I didn't know. Not impressed and I would like a compensation for the mileage I did and the time I lost!!!!

i rented a 5X8 enclosed trailer online was told to go way out of town to get it. quoted 19,95 per day. when i got there the only thing available was a 6X12 open trailer that was way heavier on my truck. was told they never had a 5X8 i was tricked by your agent. had to pay 34.95$ plus 20 for some insurance returned it in less than 24 hours then my credit card was double charged this whole thing was a scam from what i can see

Attendant was asleep in his vehicle when we dropped of the truck. We stood inside the office for 1/2 hour waiting for service until we had to go searching the property to find him. I was charged an extra $30 and wasn't told what it was for. We returned the truck with 7/8 tank of gas as we were told because it was marked 7/8 when we picked it up. Poor service at this drop off location
