GERALD SRented a cargo van to move some items to big for my SUV. Van was clean and ready when scheduled. After given a few friendly driving tips I was on my way. No surprises or hidden charges. Will rent again when I need to move bigger items.
john cI returned the vehicle with the fuel tank exactly where it was when I rented it, was charged for fuel, thought this was inappropriate. Was very careful to refuel across the street and to fill to the same mark on the gauge.

LEIF JWould have loved a phone call or email or text that all was okay with rental as I was running late. I went to wrong location it seems, sorry. Unclear on cost as it says $19.95 and I only needed 2 hours but was charged for 4? Great customer service and good rental vehicle. Perfect.

MARK OThe customer service upon my move out could not be more insulting. I had two units there for several years. About $20k spent. Stupid on my part. I recently went through a divorce and was separating accounts and credit cards. I was late on payment a couple of times but have known the owner for decades and didn’t think it was that big of an issue as I always paid and paid whatever late fees. The month I moved out, I paid exactly what was said was owed. The account was not even a month past due but I was told that my unit was locked and a lien was on it, even though there had been zero notification. I had written out a check, I was told I couldn’t have access until the check cleared, regardless of never giving them a bad check, and regardless of massive generosity my family had given the owner in the past. I said no worries, I’ll pay cash. While getting my last unit empty, the employee came and told me I owed an additional $45 late fee on top of the late fee I already paid. This equates to basically 50% interest/month. Is that even legal? Out of principal I refused. The owner told her employee that she would deal with me face to face. Later that day I got an email that there was a lien against my unit with an additional fee. After they knew I vacated. Then tonight I get an email asking if I was satisfied and to leave a review. Wtf?? It’s a storage unit. I always paid. You aren’t curing cancer. You are feeding off the worst of American hoarding. Give me a freaking break.

MOORE MAs I indicated in my call to HQ, the van had mud-caked mat in the rear and mud on the kick panel on the passenger side. I spent one hour using a stiff brush and a vacuum cleaner to clean the mat. Also, the man I spoke to when I picked up the van was surly, alas. I did get a $50 rebate from corporate for my trouble, so I am happy about that. All strange, as I have rented from U Haul for decades, including abroad, without any problems. Must just be the local iteration.

ELIZABETH DWe had to buy a different hitch because the one we were using had us bottom out in driveways. Would have been good to be advised of hitch height and type of electrical connector when we arranged the rental. Now we know!

KURT HPretty sure tank wasn't full when I picked up the unit. Drove 67 total miles, and it took 18.5 gallons, which would be less than 4 miles to the gallon. Told the attendant when I dropped it off, and he indicated that they would check it out, but I didn't get a credit

SCOTT BPerson working desk difficult to work with. Trailer dr latch out of alignment and would not close properly.
KENTON HReserved a truck to pickup at a specific location and received conformation. The day before pickup I get a call saying it's at another location 20 miles away. Unacceptable. I told him to transport it to the confirmed reservation location. He said they can't do that. Stupid! Caused me an hour of time and additional fuel cost. Then a was charged an additional $15 because the drop-off site said I didn't return it was enough fuel. Wrong! The additional miles I had to drive should have covered it even if it was true. Finally, there was a notice on the counter of the drop-off site saying if the vehicle was not at the reservation site ( which it wasn't ), the would credit my bill $50. That didn't happen. Even when I called the corporate number I was told it didn't apply to my situation. What a joke! Very dissappointed.
John WDepending on who is working the counter you’ll either get someone who is super helpful and glad you’re there- or- someone who wants you to know that you are lucky they are there. Fortunately they have a large inventory and tend to have trucks, but again depending on who you get depends on how understanding they are of the customer needs.

david sIt was difficult for me to go 90 minutes from my home to pick up the truck. But other than that, the renting, use and return of the truck was seamless.
John TActual location was supposed to be lynnwood., 2 stars is for lynnwood and overall service. Lynnwood was confirmed to us, thats where we were sent the morning of our move. We got to that location, they said they do not have our reservation nor the size truck we needed. Apparently a truck was not returned and our reservation got moved to Clinton. An hour and a ferry ride away. The lady in lynnwood was less than empathetic for the mix up, complication, and inconvenience. We picked up from Clinton, lady (clinton) forgot our utility dolly, i called she apologized and claimed she removed from our reservation, turns out she didnt. Luckily a friend had one, but after a 1.5hr and $85 ferry cost going back would have been a pain. I spoke to a customer service lady who offered a tiny refund for inconvenience of the whole day, i let her know thats not enough and i needed to speak to manager. I was told it could be 48hrs. 4 business days later (6 days), i called back, was told manager not in and i would get a call back by eod. 3 business days later from that (5 days) i called again, was told the manager not in and taking care of personal matter with no backup. I let them know that was unacceptable. I got a call from the president and he apologized, was very sympathetic, kind, and quickly resolved the matter. I appreciate Eddie getting it handled. The entire experience was beyond stressful and cost me a lot of added $$$ with movers, ferry, etc, but Eddie got it sorted.

Greta SThis Island community is small so I drive the route that I did often....it's just that I needed a box truck to move some scaffolding from a Honeymoon Bay Rd location 2 miles to another Honeymoon Bay Rd location (before the lake). The distance from Ken's Corner (Uhaul office) - up the Hiway & right onto Honeymoon Bay Rd to the pick up and then drop off point is 11 miles - making a total of 22 miles. I measured it - I was charged for 30 miles - I was over billed $8 (approx $ .99/mile) or a surcharge of about 16%. I recommend this location because folks are nice, they were open & had a vehicle available but take a photo of the mileage when you start & when you return the vehicle. It's unethical to nickel & dime a customer (in this case on the mileage) albeit a modest amount & reminds us to always be vigilant.

Douglas WThe prior weekend however was a disaster with your other UHaul vendor in Clinton: Freeland WA. They did not have the vehicle I reserved and I waited over an hour for anyone to show up to inform me of that. I lost my movers due to the lateness and lack of equipment so it was a failed attempt all in all due to UHaul’s inability to communicate and deliver the reservation.
