Alpine was very helpful. The reason I ended up at Alpine was because the Tahoe U-Haul didn't have my U-Haul advisable when I went to pick it up. I reserved it 3 weeks prior and then I ended up having to drive 45 minutes too and from Incline village in Tahoe on my moving day. I drove way out of my way after I reserved it with plenty of time. The South Lake Tahoe U-Haul told me to check back bc the only 5x8 trailer they had needed new tires and then it what ready on my reserved date. I'd also like to point out that I had my tow hitch installed at the Tahoe U-Haul and I was asked to come back twice bc they "didn't have the part" and then "the guy that installs the hitches didn't show up" with no phone call to let me know I couldn't have it installed both times. It's was cutting it close to my moving day. I'm extremely unhappy with U-Haul based off both of these experiences. Moving is very stressful and they only added to my stress. I would rate the South Lake Tahoe U-Haul as extremely poor service.Tashawna G.

This commentary is not directed to this location, but UHaul Corporate. Don't offer a preferred location if you have no intention of honoring it. This is by far the worst customer service experience I've ever had. I received multiple location reservations. Changed reservation locations while I'm standing in line at the store I was directed to. Had reservations canceled due to equipment unavailability. The very nature of reservations is to secure an investment... I live in Truckee CA. I was asked to go to from Quincy CA. to Fallon NV. and other locations in Reno NV. Ultimately they sent me to the location I initially requested as my preferred location. Unbelievable... This has nothing to do with the stores themselves. This is about the reservation process, the location of equipment availability, and the customer service end of UHaul Corporate. I spent over 3 hours on hold (accumulated) just to be transferred from one operator to the next stating they were transferring me to scheduling or a customer service representative or manager that could help me, just to go through the same recycled conversation to get nowhere. Everyone felt my frustration, but until I reached a Customer Service Manager, (Allison, thank you) who put it in writing, I was just passed along to the next representative. To summarize, the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. I want to believe this was an isolated incident, but as I stood in line and listened to others. I can only say this left a bitter taste in my mouth. Moving and storage is a necessary evil. I pray that my future experiences, are better than this one.MELVIN W.

Not enough inventory of equipment at the requested site. Tried to rent a cargo trailer on-line. It confirmed my rental on-line only to find out two days before pick up they didn't have one at that location. I had to rent the last truck available at a HUGE additional cost. If the equipment isn't going to be available at that site on that day, the reservation shouldn't have been confirmed. I lost over $200 by billing my client for the trailer instead of the truck. Bad business policy, confirming reservation for something that would not be available at that site. Next closest uhaul was 32 miles away by way of twisty mountain roads taking 53 minutes!SUSAN F.

This is the second time that I scheduled a trailer that when I went to pick it up to find the pick up location had changed from Incline Village to Reno. That change would haves added 4 to 5 hours on my move. When I made my original reservation the site had 2 trailers unscheduled at the time. I was charged for 134 miles while I actually drove within town.Roman G.
Every representative that I came into contact with; whether it be booking over the phone, or picking up the vehicle in person; was extremely professional, helpful, and overall made my rental experience well worth the money spent. The only issue I found; was that it was extremely difficult to get into contact with the same representative twice when calling over the phone. That is to say I could call the same number and do the same prompt twice, and end up talking to a rep in a completely different department. Talking to the same person twice seemed impossible. This is of course an issue with the phone system, and was not the fault of any uhaul employee.CONNOR F.

I only rented from the Lake Tahoe location because my original reservation was given away to someone else. I did not know, nor was I informed, that I needed to pick up the reserved auto transport at time we discussed. I had already given my credit card number to the telephone representative, which is stated by all uhaul representatives, that a credit card is needed in order to reserve the auto transport or any rental from uhaul. Well...... I gave my credit card number and I no longer had my reservation after an allotted time that I was unaware of. The inconvenience I endured becaise of a representative that was unable to inform me of a very important disclosure was completely unacceptable. My trip was over 600 miles. It will be very hard for me to refer uhaul to friends or family or even myself returning. I gave good ratings on the review because that location was great. But the telephone rep and the reps I talked to, saying they will try and look into this matter and has yet to contact me back, is the reason I will not say positive things about your companyTROY ADAM C.
Alpine Storage was great However returning the truck on the first was hell. One guy checking In or out ten people waiting In line.2 people at desk on a holiday weekend not one. Uhaul should take a lesson from Josh Richard and Davis at Alpine Storage . They were great .Wendy V.
