It was unclear where we were supposed to park or where to go to check-in. I walked inside to find the worker lecturing someone, and he rudely told us to wait outside. When we went outside, we saw a young couple who had been waiting outside a while before we arrived. They told us that they asked the worker to double-check the trailer hook up before they left, and he refused to do so, despite the Uhaul booking confirmation stating that he was required to check it. We helped them hook up the trailer as we are experienced with doing so and had to wait anyway. He had snarky comments about us helping them and basically told them if they don't know the ins and outs of hooking up a trailer then they weren't "smart" enough to rent and tow one. We waited an excessive amount of time in the parking lot for him to finish rudely dismissing the customer he was talking to inside when we arrived, then to very rudely set up the young couple with their sign in stuff, to then talk to me and my party like we were fools. The trailer didn't have any wiring harness attached to it, so my partner took one off of another Uhaul trailer in the lot, and the guy made a big fuss over that even though it's equipment Uhaul is supposed to provide (and he or his coworkers were supposed to check when the last customer returned it). He insisted that I filled out the addresses incorrectly online. I put the destination as the storage unit to which we were moving our belongings; he insisted that I had written the storage unit as my mailing address. I had my mailing address where it belongs; he insisted that it wasn't there. Even if I had made a clerical error on registration -which I did not- he has no right to speak to people that way. I had selected a specific drop-off site online which Uhaul had approved and confirmed on my reservation, and he insisted that I had not selected any. He then showed me two listings for Uhaul locations far out of the way from my destination, and told me that I would drop the trailer off where he told me to or pay the fines. I told him that I wanted the drop-off location I had chosen -and Uhaul approved- on my reservation, and he completely ignored me. Another customer walked up to ask about where to check in for a uhaul pickup, and the guy told him off too, barked at him about waiting his turn. No one knew where to wait! It took nearly an hour to pick up a small, single axle trailer, even though I pre-registered everything online, put in all my credit card details ahead of time, completed all the "check in" stuff sent via email prior to the pick up time, and am extremely experienced with setting up and towing trailers. The heat index was over 100* and there was nowhere for anyone to get in shade or cool air. There was no restroom or drinking water available. I don't expect to be pampered, but that's downright dangerous besides being bad business. I noticed halfway home that he had changed the drop-off location to a place far out of my way. I called the "new" drop off location, who told me that I could only edit the drop-off by calling the location where I picked it up. Thankfully I explained the issues at the pick-up location, and the lovely gentleman at the Schenectady store transferred me to someone higher up with Uhaul who quickly and kindly helped me change the drop off location to something closer - though still not the convenient location which Uhaul had approved on my initial reservation. I can't understate how poorly the man was behaving at the pick-up location. We all have bad days but this was beyond unacceptable. It was despicable, and he made a few sideways remarks which weren't "specifically" discriminatory, but sure had negative implications regarding a person of color (the woman he was lecturing on our arrival) and then two women who appeared to be significant others (the young couple my party assisted when he refused to). I have a Pride flag on my truck and wonder if that didn't contribute to his nastiness to my party. This was like something out of a bad sitcom; I really think this location should be removed from Uhaul entirely. It's like a random appliance warehouse that just happens to have a handful of trailers for rent.
Elizabeth GWhen I made the reservation with the U-Haul rep over the phone, I asked if someone at the pick-up site would be able/willing to show us how to hook up the trailer since we had never used that size before. She assured me that someone there was "required" to hook up the trailer for us for insurance and safety reasons. When we arrived, the man at the Appliance & Mattress Outlet said he would not hook up the trailer for us and if we didn't know how to hook it up ourselves, we couldn't take the trailer. Luckily another rental customer also there at the time was kind enough to help us hook up the trailer. They also commented that they try to avoid this particular location because the staff is not very nice and rarely helpful. That being said, when we returned the trailer, a young woman came out right away with a jack to help us unhitch our trailer, and quickly closed out our reservation, emailed receipt so we were quickly on our way. She was very nice and helpful.

Although ,When I was sent the link to inspect the van and take pictures before I took the van ....I was unable to upload pictures...don't know if it was my phone or the link ....but afterwards when I returned the van, I was able to take pictures and upload them...also the driver side seatbelt is a little bit tight...I just wanted you to know. Thank you.
MELINDA SThe car transport had very bad brakes. I have towed vehicles before using uHaul auto transports and boats having hydraulic brakes. This particular trailer was awful. One of the four tires was very close to needing replacement. I rented the trailer for a one way 900+ miles and should have been in better condition.

Instead of the agent being knowledgeable about uhaul returns, what consent of 1 extra day etc etc she cause myself additional money for something I didn’t use more than our agreed upon 1 extra day but I’m being charged 2 extra days. Do better!

Vic MEverything. The rep at this location was incompetent, rude and racist. He wouldn’t even take feedback from his own regional manager Rashon. I would never recommend this location or jail to anyone ever again. Uhaul needs to be more selective with who the allow to represent their business.
Candace JI was not notified that the original business pick up u hual trailer was closed. Had contact numbers but no one picked up. I had to call the u hual 800 number to get it situated only to find out my information was all wrong. They had my name and my phone number all wrong, which why I was never contacted of the original pick up to be closed. Got it situated after an hour wasted time. Make sure U Hual have the correct name spelling and contact number.
riome cMechanically, the truck was in good working order. Seems well maintained. The windshield was full of bugs though.. I had to pull my hose out and wash the windshield before my trip.

Julia BI dropped my rental truck and tow dolly off at this location on Sunday @ 4:50 because they where closing at 5 o'clock. They guy was rude and no type of help at all. So I dropped my key in the drop box. I called on a Tuesday to see if they processed my paper work so I can receive my deposit back and the lady never processed it like she said thatshe would so the next day I go up there to find out what's going on and the same man rude and was on his phone doing nothing. Long story short he was ignorant and had a attitude all because I wanted my money back.
Kimshawanna WThe return area is at the end of a warehouse. There were no lights on inside the return building. Parking area for customers need to be designated. The employee had to ask people to move their car and a delivery truck so I could unload the trailer. The employee was very nice and helpful.

Jorge VLocation only became a problem due to lack of communication between uhaul, dispatch, and the computer system, but 2 weeks in a row, I rented a van that was not ready after reserving it. In both situations, the rental was booked with a confirmation number. Upon arrival at uhaul on 30th and governor prints Blvd for there to be no van available. I was severely inconvenienced. The following week, the exact same thing happened again. When I arrived at the uhaul, I assumed the van would be ready, but again it wasn't and I went home to wait for a call letting me know when a rental became available. used to value the reliability of uhaul, but after yesterday's mess, I may choose different options for my next move. No offer has been extended for any of my inconvenience.

charles gThe cab had a really strong cigarette smell which normally wouldn't bother me except for the fact that it stuck to my clothing. The check engine light came on anytime I went above 60 mph, when the speed limit was 65. It took longer than expected bc I had to keep it below 55 mph. The passenger door was held together with screws and we kept hearing clanging sounds from the door while we were driving and the door sensor kept going off saying that the passenger door wasn't closed.

JEREMIAH BThis was the worst U-Haul experience I have ever had and this was my first and last. I had a reservation for 9:30 AM until 3:30 PM my rental was for six hours although I paid $30 for the reservation I did not get the truck I needed when I needed it. I show up to the place where I’m supposed to pick up my rental and it’s not there so I called the U-Haul customer service number and they tell me that the person who had the truck never turned it in along with the keys so then they sent me to another location to pick up the same truck. This location was further from me now it’s 11 AM and I am behind an hour and a half, I get to the new location and I’m told that I have to return the truck by 5 PM which I needed for six hours and I was charge for six hours yet I used it for less than 5 1/2. Why because after I was billed about $65 for this rental the girl at the desk could not find the keys to the truck So not only am I far behind on schedule now I’m standing here wasting more time because they were so unorganized and they could not find the keys to this vehicle I needed. Want getting the rental back to my apartment to start loading there are gasoline spills in the truck which smelled horribly. I tried to call back to let someone know because I don’t want to be held responsible for something I didn’t do but after calling numerous amount of times it kept giving me the busy signal I ended up dropping the vehicle off around 4:30 PM but this was such a waste of time and money and this again it’s my first and last time that I ever do business with U-Haul.
LUCERITO MThe location owner made me wait 30 minutes before I could get my truck even though I showed up at my reservation time because he had to take care of his regular customers first. I did not even want to go to that location as it automatically added an extra 10 miles each way. U haul redirected my original reservation. The truck was in terrible condition, did not feel safe to drive and had a check engine light on the whole time. Also, the site did not know how and would not apply a military discount. I am very disappointed I. Uhaul for this experience. Over the last month I’ve spent over 1300 with uhaul but I feel like I might have to look into other options after this.
