While I understand this a relatively new location, this was the worst experience I have ever had with renting equipment from U-Haul. The location is part of the Aransas Autoplex, but is in an adjacent lot. The rental office is in the Auto Dealership's Service Department. I pulled into the U-Haul lot where the trailer I had rented was located. I realized the lot is not manned and had to drive over to the dealership Service Center where the U-Haul rental desk is located. When I got there, there was no one at the desk and had to wait about 20 minutes till someone came to help me. This person was not the regular person who ran the rental desk and did not know how to process a rental. She finally figured it out and I drove back over to pick up trailer. A porter for the dealership helped me hook it up and the rear lights didn't work which means it was not safety checked when it was last returned. I had to drive back over to the office to get a different trailer which was a process, as the girl did not know what to do. They finally figured it out and I drove back over to the lot to get the other trailer. This whole process took a little over an hour. Once I got home, I realized the trailer I got was a not well maintained, particularly the tire basket tie downs and winches which are critical to securing the vehicle to the Auto-Trailer. I ended up having to rig the right -hand tie down using one of my own ratcheted tie-downs. We had to stop every 100 miles or so to check them. I have rented a lot of U-Haul equipment in the past, but this was by far the worst experience I have had.

Would have gotten 5 stars if it had not been for some old fart that was "too busy for this". The young lady who ended up helping me was pleasant and help me get checked end with a smile.
