The inside of the truck could only be described as disgusting. It looked and smelled like it had not been cleaned for a year or more. It was so dirty that I would not even put my cell phone in the cup holder due to the grime in it. The mud throughout the floor of the cab was bad too. In the back of the truck, there was a 1' square that was busted. Each time someone would accidently step on it, their foot would sink lower and lower. I constantly told my family members to watch their steps so no one would fall through. It was a true safety issue. The people at the store were great, both when I picked it up and dropped it off. That said, the manager at the store should be embarrassed to rent out such a dirty, smelly and unsafe truck. If I ever have to rent a Uhual again at your store or anywhere, I will now have to ask if it's clean. I've rented Uhuals before so I have something to compare it to.Amy S.

Truck was dirty when I picked it up. Had to pay to have it cleaned. All the gas stations in NC were out of fuel and yet I was penalized a high refueling rate by the turn in location. And I was told a truck would be ready at a location in wellsboro pa and the day before I was told I had to go to another town that was over 50 miles away. Never again will I use UHaul for anything. The process of renting was terrible. The people (Dawn) at Arey were wonderful. I rented online and 1 day prior to pick up at 7:20AM received a call from a representative from Syracuse, NY that pick up of the trailer was not available at my preferred location and that I would have to drive 1 hour to the Wysox, PA location if I wanted the trailer. I requested to pick up the trailer 1 day early without charge as I was being inconvenienced and that my pickup location and trailer was guaranteed, the representative commented that it was not guaranteed but did agree I could pick up the trailer 1 day early. Then 10 minutes later, I receive an email to pick up the trailer on the earlier day but need to return the following day. I called the representative back to confirm our conversation and she said she would correct her mistake. I did not receive any follow up. When I arrived at the Wysox facility I was told they received a message to charge me for only 2 days not 3 days. I let them know that was incorrect and that the agreement was to charge me for only 1 day not 2 days. I originally rented the trailer for 1 day. As I mentioned the people at Arey were helpful and resolved my issue but not before it took up a lot of my time and stressful conversations. 1 final issue, when I arrived home with my trailer I discovered there was a padlock on the door. I called Ayey and was instructed to cut it off. just another time inconvenience. Not sure I will rent from u haul again..Gerald B.

The service was very good; the staff person who staff person who handled my rental was excellent. I was very disturbed that almost no one in the store - staff or customers - was wearing a mask. (The woman who helped was one of the few who wore a mask.) The sign on the entrance said masks were "recommended." Cases in our county are increasing, and I feel it is very irresponsible to not require masks.KATIE R.

I reserved the Uhaul for pickup in Troy, Pa. My email confirmation said Troy, Pa pickup. I arrived & they told me they didn't have 10x10. I was sent to Wysox 20- 30 miles away to pick it up. I never received email with the change. Complete out of the way run around.Jodi F.

Felt somewhat deceived that I wasnt aware the utility dolly was a per day fee. If I knew that I'd have left it after the first day which was paid for by a third party company as I never even used it beyond the first day bc I picked up my own easier to maneuver doll from my house. Also thought the save move was a single fee and only got it the first day NC they were responsible for the contract That day.. That made for a huge difference in pricing. I have my own insurance and didn't need to pay for all of that when I didn't need to. The vehicle had prior damage and it wasn't x marked on those spots. They said they weren't worried about it bc I had the safe move. I said well you should document it at least to Bill the prior customer.. I returned vehicle in cleaner condition than I found it. Our reservation was lost, or at least U-Haul the rep could not find it. We were charged for insurance without being asked if we wanted it. We requested a 24-hour rental (15 foot truck) and were given an estimate that showed charges for 2 daily rentals. While I did not watch the time I'm sure it took at least 20 minutes to process the rental. As I had been up all night I was ready to â€˜sign on the dotted line and go about my business. Once I was ready to leave I looked more closely at the charges that were lined out and was not happy. Our personal automobile policy is adequate for our needs and there is no way I'd have approved the U-Haul policy add-on as well as $60 for a 24-hour rental?? We called to protest the charges and were told that of course we had to have the insurance, or some similar evasion of the issue. The representative could not explain why we were looking at a double charge for the rental rate but I'll just say that he was argumentative about our concerns. My wife finally conceded to the insurance (I believe only to get our move back on track) and got off the phone with the U-Haul rep. I am working nights and trying to help move my family during the day. This was NOT something I expected by any measure, or had any patience for. Our past experience with U-Haul has been excellent and we certainly hope this was not an indication of a turn in your company's directionNathan W.
