in my check in/out experience it seemed to be disjointed between being able to do everything with the mobile app and the website. It would be better to make sure the mobile app was a good beginning to end process and while allowing reservations to be made on the web, really make sure that the mobile app did that and more. The location was very clean and neat and the guy who helped me check in did a good job. I've not rented a u-haul in 20 years, but really enjoyed the experience and recommend to a friend.

I used the mobile check-in on my phone. This service would have been great if there was some way of not having to wait for the attendant to finish with someone who had arrived to the lot after me, but got to the desk first since he didn't use the mobile check-in.

Make sure that reservations for 24/7 rentals are actually set as such. I had to wait on hold with customer service for 40 mins in the heat to be able to pick up the van

Advertising for $19.95 is rather deceiving when you pay more for gas, mileage, and fees. I ended up paying over $70 to drive 15-20 minutes and back.

I rented this same truck two days in a row. My order was not ready for pickup yesterday so I had to rent again today. On return, I mentioned that the truck had a strong smell of urine, the drivers door was difficult to close completely and the cargo area I had to sweep out for fear that I would be charged for cleaning. The same truck today had a strong smell of ‘air freshener ‘ but eventually urine smell returned. Door still only closes with hard pull.

The online process is great however, include more instructions on how to let your mobile device accept uhaul.com location settings. I found this part very tricky and if I hadn't figured it out I wouldn't have been able to follow through with the rental.

The check in was unnecessarily long and cumbersome with the online representative. It is impossible to figure out how to modify the reservation online. Calls to the pick up location were not returned.

I am not good with technology, consequently, I could not do the on site key return via smartphone. I had to call the office the following day which I believe is a fee of $20.00.

Look closely for any crack on windows. We found one crack but it was marked with black 'X' so we knew that was there before our rent. But I still called and reported the damage.

Remind customers to pay attention to the Text messages on the smart device. I neglected to click on the link to return my vehicle WHEN I returned my vehicle. I completely forgot about it until i was sent a reminder message even though I had returned the link 6 hours after I used it. Maybe a scanner at the return key mailbox to scan in the returned vehicle? Overall, this was a great experience to rent from UHAUL. Thank you!

The online check in process is awful. It was freezing cold and I was outside while I was waiting to be approved.

There were two issues that made the difference between above average and excellent. The parking lot was a sheet of ice. Therefore, walking from the car to the entrance was hazardous. The second issue was with the truck itself. The back door had been closed with the strap caught. Due to the freezing rain and bitter cold, the strap iced up and the door was frozen shut.

We had reserved a dozen furniture pads with our van rental for 7:30 am (before the office opened). Luckily the attendant arrived early and provided them for us because they were not in the van. Suggestion: if a van is reserved before the office opens, have it ready to go. Otherwise a very good experience. Brand new van was terrific.

Every lease in Boston is up on Sept 1. Please consider moving additional vehicles from regional Uhaul locations in toward Boston around this date every year. That would be amazing.

The attendant could not help me figure out how to adjust the mirrors. Additionally, I had requested a truck from Central Sq. weeks in advance and had this change made one day before my move. This was enormously inconvenient as I've never been to this location, have little experience driving vehicles this size, and found the whole experience much more stressful than if I had been able to just travel Mass Ave as I would have with the Central location. It makes no sense that a reservation isn't actually a reservation...

The van appeared brand-new. It seems to have a sympathetic vibration at roughly 35 to 40 mph. I noticed this on my return trip, when the van no longer had 1200 pounds of cargo. The only problem I could detect was that the AM radio did not work. Also, it would be nice to have a USB port to power a cellphone!

I had a problem with the truck's back door--it took force to open it and somehow the lock handle got jammed into the truck frame so the door wouldn't close. One of my workmen got it going OK. The 15 footer we rented was bigger than we needed so it cost a bit more, but it was great to have one of your trucks available on short notice for house-moving backup. And you're located near a bus line to take me back home after I returned the truck by myself.

Explain the after hours check in procedure when the rental is picked up. The agent mentioned the lock box for the keys but did not outline the whole procedure, which requires pictures of the odometer, fuel gauge, and truck interior. I locked the van and nearly put the keys in the box before checking the return instructions on the text. Giving the renter either a print out or a verbal summary would be very helpful.
