It was less about the location and more about working with UHauls customer service. It is very misleading to confirm a reservation for someone at a location within a mile of their home and than switch the location to 25 miles away, especially when charging 1.39 per mile. The customer service agent was quick, to the point of rude, when I asked if I could speak to someone else she said no. If you don't have the inventory to serve the locations requested than UHaul should move the inventory, this is what rental car companies do. The 19.99 per day is misleading when you nickel and dime every other part of the rental. I know this feedback probably doesn't matter to you because you have people trapped using you especially on busy moving weekend. But if it does here are some things you can improve: Your service to your rental locations, customers shouldn't hear from the locations how horrible UHaul is to do business with, two - move inventory where it is needed, you become unaffordable really quick when you don't compensate people for having to drive more than 20 miles to pick up a rental, three, train your customer service people to be pleasant, no one wants to be treated poorly when they are being told they will need to spend 4 times more than they thought the bill was going to be and finally clean the vehicles, the inside of the cab was filthy, again, it's like you don't care because you know people will deal with it. Overall, just not good business practices, disappointing, but unfortunately the customer is stuck with it. Just do better.

The location was absolutely awesome in helping me. The issue was the main branch changing my reservation the day before pick up. They totally screwed everything up, from the pick up time to where I was to get the truck. It caused alot of stress and more money. There is a reason people make reservations in advance. Worst ever experience...and I have used uhaul alot. Unfortunately, the locations uhaul contact person was unavailable, which seemed to be an issue. The computer program would not allow them to complete their task correctly, and the phone call to the head honcho was disconnected. I felt bad for the person that was helping me, but Thank God it all worked out in the end! Think I will go to a different truck rental company.

MARK SAllow more notice about availability of vehicles. Incorporate reimbursement for travelling out of town to pick up vehicle's. I paid $70 u.s. for Uber to pick up the truck at the out of town location. That was a huge inconvenience and horrible customer service.

This location added an hour and a half driving to my trip! Very disappointed in my Uhaul experience. The least Uhaul could do when trailers are not where they need to be is have staff relocate them. Not expect customers to do it!

Dave RI rented a truck for a short trip. I needed to move something from Vergennes, VT to Hyde Park, VT. The closest rental facility to Vergennes that was on the way was in North Ferrisburgh, VT. However, they didn't have the right size vehicle(s). So, I needed to rent it from Williston, VT, which was further away and added miles to the overall trip. I then wanted to return the truck to Morrsiville, VT which was the closest facility to my house in Hyde Park. However, UHaul would not let me return the truck there, but instead I had to drive it further away to Jeffersonville, VT to return it. This added even more miles. The online rental only allowed me 51 miles for the total trip. When I rented the truck in Williston I told the employee (Charlie H.) that that would not be enough miles and to add 49 miles to the trip, which he charged me for on the total bill at that time. My online quote was for $180 which included the $16 insurance. I then paid a total of $249 in Williston after I upped the miles to 100. When the contract was printed, however, Charlie H. someone subtracted miles from my original trip and I now was only allotted 32. I told him that was unacceptable but he assured me it was right in the system and that I had 100 miles for the trip and would not be charged for the additional miles up to 100. However, on dropping off the truck in Jeffersonville I was then billed an additional $68 for additional miles used. I immediately called customer service and spoke with Michael Taylor. Who, after I explained this entire situation to him, said he was sending my issue to 'management' who would contact me ASAP. That was Saturday. It is now Monday evening and I have not heard from 'management' regarding this issue and I still have been billed $317 for a trip that was originally quoted as costing $180. I am VERY displeased with the service and treatment.

I had to drive to the location to rent the truck. The truck was available for the days we needed it but the website and people on the phone wouldn’t allow the rental.

More importantly, for contract #94763229 I have several complaints (1) I was charged 2 day rental of the vehicle, dolly and blankets when I only had them 1 day, (2) the pickup location was changed from the "guaranteed" location the morning of pickup, when I was preparing from the move and did not have access or coverage for my phone, and (3) the truck size was changed from a 15 ft truck to a 20 ft truck, which vastly complicated parking and slowed loading substantially while in the Boston area. I contacted UHC of Western MA and VT and the representative was polite but completely unsympathetic and bluntly refused to submit my request for compensation and seemed uninterested in whether I would ever use U-Haul again which I consider poor customer service.
Paul WThe vehicle wasn't clean, but this didn't really matter. It wasn't so dirty that it had any negligible impact on what I needed to do. It ran well, and had no mechanical problems. From check-out to return, it was a smooth experience.

Tim MUhaul reported that this store opened at 7am. It didn't open until 7:30. They also said that it would be contactless pick up, which it wasn't so I had to wait until the store opened to pick up the truck. I was notified the night before pickup of a location change and had to drive 30 miles out of my way to pick up the truck and then they charged me for those miles.

Philip KWhen we picked up the truck on Friday morning, my husband was asked to return the truck with the same amount of fuel as when we picked it up. It was slightly below a 1/4 tank. My husband added enough gas to be at the same level. But, we were charged a $30.25 fuel fee for six gallons of gas. ??? The lady checking us back in did not seem to know what she was doing and said nothing about the fuel fee. The man who originally checked out the truck to us, was not there in the afternoon. None of his employees seemed to know how to check Uhaul trucks back in. I love this hardware store but will not be using their Uhaul services again.

I expected non of the great service provided due to my previous experiences renting moving equipment from other moving companies. Great experience, great price!

I was supposed to pick up in Burlington and then got a call 2 days prior to my move and was told the truck I need will not be there. I had to drive 40 minutes away to get the truck I needed using my own vehicle and was not reimbursed for gas or time to do so. Tried to call and get some kind of reimbursement was on the phone for a half hour and no one could help me so I hung up. Not impressed with the customer service at all!!!!
Nicole RThe invoice I was sent the day after my rental has a price listed approximately $10 less than what I was actually charged. That charge is still listed as "pending" when I check my online banking so I don't know if that will change or not, but it's a little confusing.

That's what you get for trusting the guy at the hardware store and not verifying mileage. I will be disputing the charge with my bank and will never rent uhaul again.
John DThe place that I was getting the U-haul from the customer service was poor. They didn't know how to do the U-haul paperwork. The manager was on a conference call and when he was done. He never help me or the other customer that was there for a pick up either. The customer had a pick up time for 8 and Mine was for 9. The cashier that were there were rude when I asked her what was going on about someone coming to do it. I told them that I need to get back because I had to buried my boyfriend and move right after the services. I will not recommend anyone to use that U-haul place again. I waa crying when I was waiting because they didn't know how do paperwork and never told me what was happening.
