I paid for a climate controlled until. It did not have climate control. I had issues with mice getting into the unit and destroying basically everything inside.

Got there they had no info on our reservation had to call to get it, then trailer was parked in a big snow bank! Took over an hour just to get the trailer when I did everything online signed in and all.

JOHN RWe drove 90 minutes to this location, per U-Haul's request. The equipment had a fishy smell. After the 90 minute drive unpleasant drive, we investigated and found food in the cab that was left behind the seat. We removed the decaying food and tried to clean it but the smell was still present. After driving two day down from Michigan to Florida, it was one of the most unpleasant drives I've ever had. Note, we removed the food and placed all kinds of scents to try and cover up the foul smell but we were not successful. The person who rented us the vehicle tried to spray some scent into the cab but was unsuccessful. He was very nice and accommodating, not sure that was his fault but the smell was just too much to handle. Very unhappy and dis-satisfied.

Nancy BDid not know that I was to turn the truck in at there facility. That became a big problem. The wrong mileage was recorded and that had to be fixed with the help of someone on the phone. The personnel tried to be helpful, but it seemed out of there control to change anything by themseld.

JAMES LWe requested the Croswell location which was 2 blocks from us at the time, they made us drive to Port Sanilac, someone could've easily had the truck we requested days before ready for us in Croswell, also the truck wasn't safe, inside the bed has a loose panel we had to avoid and deal with all day, should've been addressed prior, tripping/lawsuit hazard. Now they just sent me a receipt with missing information which also stated the in-town truck wasn't returned, the girl in Port Sanilac said no problem dropping it off in Croswell, which was the only customer care point for this ridiculous equation. Still not even sure how much the rental costs us, the equipment contract which you want me to sign states nothing. We run multiple businesses, this is unacceptable. The last time we moved from FL to MI nobody showed up in FL to help us load, then nobody showed up in MI to help us uploaded, unbelievable, good job hiring professionals.

Matt G | Overall ExperienceTrailer was dirty and smelled like grease, waited for 45 mins and no one come to help hook up trailer. I hooked it up myself, went back up front and was told I hooked up to the wrong trailer but they would change the paperwork which was never done. The other trailer on site was filthy and smelled like grease and was all smashed on one fender.

Gerald PI’m very big on reviews and when I looked up this company I wasn’t too thrilled with all the reviews. BUT I give Auto Care of Port Sanilac A whopping five stars….!!! Caitlin took care of everything for me and did a very professional job. You see I’m in a wheelchair I couldn’t go there I had to send my friend and she took care of everything else. Thank you so much Caitlin. You cannot believe all the reviews you read because I think most of them are just people being idiots. Auto care of Port Sanilac Is a great place to have in our town.
Eric NLocation was perfect! Service was not, girl was late the day we were to pick up truck. We were never told about the email to assess damage prior to leaving yard. The truck had glass in front passenger seat upon taking possession of truck, so clearly not cleaned. The damage to lower passenger mirror was marked as damaged, but driving a truck with Broken mirror was difficult.
TALLY Hrenting a trailer when needed is very easy for reasonable cost compared to buying and storing a trailer.

Michele FI could not pick up the truck after hours Sunday evening because the U-Haul website would not recognize my GPS location. I was on the phone with U-Haul for 30+ minutes but had to return Monday morning to pick it up. I had paid for 12 moving blankets but was only given 1/2 dozen (I didn’t realize one bag was only 6) and I had to ask for them. They were not included in my truck and if I had been able to pick them up Sunday I would have had no blankets. The gas gauge was close to Full but was obviously not full when I refilled the gauge moved past full. (Probably several gallons). There was no windshield wiper fluid in the truck or it was frozen. I could not clean my windshield when driving which is really important in the winter time. I was dissatisfied and disappointed with my U-Haul experience. I was expecting better.
George CThe gentleman I rented with via phone was nice but new and he messed up the rental day and time multiple times. I almost didn't get the truck because when picking up he told me it was rented for a day other than what my Uhaul confirmation stated. It was a royal mess and I almost lost out on thousands of dollars because I didn't have a truck. Then when I finally reached the owner he was absolutely horrible to deal with. Rude, argumentative, accused me of being "a liar" and "uneducated" and made several derogatory comments about women. I will never deal with that place again. Uhaul shouldn't have their name attached to it.
Carol SEquipment is good, location is great. Employee is hard working and consciences, but lack any training or onsite support. Back and forth on phone for over 3 hours and ending final conversation with "come in in the morning and I should have it straighten out and ready for you". Went in at about 9:30 and the trailer I want, they did not have and the employee took about 1/2 an hour to come to that conclusion. Settled on a larger one (he said I could have for same price). Took another 1/2 hour for him to try to write up contract. He ended up having the reginal office write it up and email it to me. Went to the yard to have him hook up trailer. After about 15 minutes of him hooking it up, he said I am good to go up to the office and finish the paperwork. I said this is not correct, I garbed the front of the tongue and lifted it off of the ball. It was not attached to the ball. He finally fixed it. When I was finished using the trailer and returned it, he did not know how to do the paperwork to check it in or issue me a receipt. Again he had the reginal office write it up and email it to me. He also said if he could of wrote it up I could not get a receipt because the printer is not working. Also, it was not the same price of the trailer I wanted and they said they had. I let that go because I figure it was not worth the time it would take to try to fix. This was only his 3rd day working there, but it is wrong that the employer is not providing training or on site support to his employees. My experience with the same location was almost as bad about 3 months ago with an employee that was not trained. I hope U-Haul reads this and takes the proper action.

Michelle BRemove this site as a pickup location. I was supposed to pick up in person. When I arrived (an hour and 15 minutes before close of business, it was closed and no one was there. Horrible customer service!
Kay CLady working there didn't have the Open sign lit or turned to let me know that i could walk in to return my truck. Tried using the mobile website to return it and that wouldn't work either. Never, ever using U Haul to move ever again between lack of store locations being updated and having to drive a lot of extra miles just to pick up and drop off the truck.

Mary LStore was to open at 9am and nobody showed up until 9:15. We were already on a tight schedule because a 15' truck was not available at a closer location. I had helpers meeting us at 9:30. The woman that was late....did not know how to process this transaction and was on the phone the whole time with someone walking her through it. I did not leave with the truck until almost 10 o'clock. It took 40 minutes fro this process, adding more stress to an already stressful situation. I absolutely will not return to this location nor will I recommend this location to anyone else.

Robert HStop ripping people off with the gas charges. I was changed for 1.7 gallons used at $3.75 per gallon. Locally gas is $2.10 per. If I filled the truck would you credit me for 15 gallons at $3.75 per Gallon. Also $1 for No Fault and $1 for environmental. Just be honest and charge $16 for safe move.
