First couldn't find the keys. Added delaysbin stsrting my move. The truck only 1/4 tank of gas. The attendant reported the wrong fuel level on return causing a 60 charge. They don't answer the phone there. I had to go to the location and then I had to call corporate Uhauo myself to get it resolved. Thw attendant, Sahil, took no responsibility in the issue durinng the lrocess. Luckily he did have a photo of the fuel guage at 1/4 tank when returned, not 1/8 as he inadvertantly reported.
JOHN HI am writing to express my deep concern regarding a recent experience with U-Haul that almost resulted in a major accident due to the negligence of your staff. We rented a trailer from your location, and despite asking specifically about the connection of the brake lights and turn signals, they were unable to connect the brake lights and turn signals, and we had to visit another U-Haul location to resolve this issue. While driving on Interstate I-55 (location: near Mile 278) at approximately 50 MPH, the trailer became disconnected from our vehicle. This caused the vehicle to wobble, and the trailer began to veer away from us. Fortunately, my daughter and I avoided a collision with other vehicles, but it was an incredibly dangerous situation. We managed to pull the vehicle over to the shoulder with great difficulty. We are still suffering from neck pain due to this incident. Upon inspection, we discovered that only a single chain was attached to the vehicle, while the others had become disconnected. When roadside assistance (Macoy services via U-Haul) arrived, they confirmed that the main connection had not been tightened properly by your staff. We were stranded on the highway for over two hours, which caused us to miss our intended destination and ruined the entire purpose of our move. We also incurred significant costs due to this incident. We were charged $300 for roadside assistance and lost an additional $300 paid to movers since we were unable to use their services. In total, we lost nearly $600 due to U-Haul’s poor service. Additionally, we did not receive a trolley that we had ordered at the time of rental, and we request a refund of $7 for this missing item. The bottom line is that the service provided by U-Haul staff was not only incompetent but also dangerous. We were lucky to avoid a major accident, but the emotional distress, lost time, and financial loss cannot be ignored. We respectfully request a full refund of the charges incurred during this rental, including compensation for the $607 lost due to your staff’s negligence. We trust U-Haul to take this matter seriously and ensure that no other customer experiences such a terrifying situation. N SThey had no idea what they were doing and tried to charge my credit card again. In summary, the whole experience was not very good.
David GThe sales clerk took the time to try and help me get a refund from U-Haul for the $50 of unused gas I ended up leaving in the truck. He was very understanding of my situation. Thank you!

Dennis DWhen the guy came out, he started to move all these Uhauls around. He almost crashed he Uhaul into mine. He couldn't park the Uhaul he had moved. Then inside he broke the plastic key chain to the truck I was returning. He was trying to fix it while I'm standing there waiting for a receipt. At first he told me to just leave and he'd send me a receipt later and I had to tell him no way. The guy was a total jack ass.
DANIEL AThese gentlemen are very nice, friendly and helpful! Hate to complain but the key was bent, upon pick up, which made it hard to start the truck each time. I thought there was some type of security feature. Didn’t find out that the key was actually bent until I returned the truck. Also, I became very frustrated because the gas cap wouldn’t come off when I was trying to top off the gas. My son had to play with it until it finally released. Just don’t want the next person to have frustration…at least let the customers know what to expect before driving off. Thanks for your time and this opportunity to voice my concerns. God bless you!
Denise AWas charged for moving blankets but he did not have any. He charged me any way because he said he would have to cancel the order and start again. I hope I don't get charged for them, I didn't return them because I never received them.
Jennifer MMy confirmation was for 8:00 am. When I went to get the truck, I was told by the store employee that on Sundays the U-Haul person would not be there until 9:00 am. This obviously messed up quite a few peoples day!!! If BP location is going to represent U-Haul, then they need to get on board. They cannot make their own hours. Extremely disappointed!! The truck itself was fine. It was only a 7 mile round trip pick up. The U-Haul person tried to make excuses as to the hour of pick up saying it shows on HIS records that they do not open until 9:00. But I showed him my confirmation time. He was a tad rude about it, and I wasn't too happy either.
Pamela hThis location is sufficent. I was able to get what I needed. Issues: The ignition was stubborn. It took some wiggling of the key to get the ignition to turn. Cargo space had an odd smell. These two items are the only reason I makred no for well maintained. Parking was very cramped. The stall I had to pull out of and pull into had another truck closely adjacent and not fully in its stall The angle of my truck resulted in the concrete curb being between the two driver-side wheels. Due to a lack of space, I had no choice but to park it the way I found it at pick up. There were 4 trucks on side but the location was only able to provide 4 furnature pads. Luckily this was enough for my needs for a small delivery of furnature but if I were someone moving, it would not have worked out. Everything else worked out fine. I had a much better experience as a nearby location that I would be more likely to go to in the future (Mr Kwiks Services). Due to this, I'm more likely to recommend the other location to a friend.
Greg PI had requested pickup in Wheaton, and had to pickup in the Southend of Naperville. It added an extra hour and over 30 miles. It was clear the truck hadnt been driven in a long time. The snow plow had blocked in the truck and we had to walk through the snow to get to it. The truck was covered in ice, good thing we had our own scrapper, because there wasn't one in the truck. The truck door was frozen shut and we had to take it to another location to have them help us open it up.
Emily BThe pick up location was excellent. The reservation system and associate was horrible. You call less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled pick up and change the location and time. This disrupts the whole moving schedule and they don’t care. All they say is “do you want the truck or not?” There will never be a UHaul rental from me again!
Thomas SI was overcharged. I spoke with Dealer Owner Sahan to confirm rental charge of $91.55. Sahan stated rental rate of $91.55 is solid. Cashier Ibraham handed me the key to U Haul van and asked why I didn’t reserve rental for 24 hours-it will be the same rate. I agreed to changing rental for 24 hours which would have been due back no later than 11 AM. I returned the van after midnight. I also asked Ibraham to take my picture and I wanted to confirm fuel in vehicle. Ibraham stated it wasn’t necessary to take a photo and said vehicle is on 1/2 tank. I asked to take a photo of fuel in tank. The van had 1/4 of gas. I took a photo and stated to Ibraham I will return van with 1/4 or more. Ibraham told me I didn’t have to worry returning van with gas-it’s not a big deal. I informed Ibraham I will not return van without gas. Upon returning rental, PM cashier refused to take rental key and stated he doesn’t know anything about UHaul rental. I dropped key in key drop box. I received an email and text the next day stating I owe $154.73. My husband called BP Owner and owner stated he would take care of and call us back. Owner did not call back. I called owner as well. I was promised a call back a few times-owner never called me back. When we called back-our calls were unanswered. I called UHaul directly to dispute charges-ticket open on 11/15/2022.
MonCher CFirst the company sent me to a location that I did not request. When I arrived to pick up my U-Haul from this supposed gas station U-Haul. The rear right tire was flat, and I couldn't even move the seat up to drive it. When I went inside to ask the cashier to exchange it with another one that was there he would not. So I made him come out and see that I had to drive 400 miles with a flat tire. He worked really hard to adjust the seat to get it to where I can even drive it. And then gave me a dollar to put air in the tire. His comment was it's just a drop off and pick up they're not responsible for maintenance. Which is why when I ordered U-Haul I went with a U-Haul company. But the company made me go to the gas station

Josephine WI'm extremely disappointed. I said I would pick the truck up at 11.00 am. I was there 11.11 am. I said I would drop off at 5.00 pm. I was there at 5.00 pm but put gas in the truck, did some emails, talked to the attendant, did some looking around for a soda - I ended up checking in at 5.21 pm AND WAS CHARGED AN EXTRA DAY! I'm disputing these extra fees with U-haul (after waiting on hold for almost an hour - which upset me even more) and with my credit card company.Your BP agent NEVER informed me of penalties if I returned past 5.00 pm (they are deficient in their duties). Plus, had I said I'd rent for 8 hours (11 am to 7 pm) there would be no issues. U-hual should be ashamed of yourself for such deceptive practices.

Theresa KImran at the BP Gas U-Haul drop off location was less than reputable and stated the U-Haul equipment was not at the location when in fact it was there exactly in the parking spot where returned on same day of rental. I did go back to BP Gas to make sure the U-Haul equipment was there and Imran said he would check it in returned. This location should be removed from U-Haul network.

William RClean interior of cabin: windshield, door pockets, dashboard. Tried Mobil login but also received assistance from attendant. Beware of extra fees applied after answering login questions.
Cecilia LThe return was to a location very close to my home but they are complete bozos. I was asked to back into a space that was less than a parking spot. Then he could not help because he had no knowledge of a trailer. It was ridiculous. How are they a uhaul?

Joan WMy on-line reservation and pick up would not process. The website was unable to confirm my location to complete the pick up process. The person in the store helped process my pick up himself even though it was technically after hours. He was courteous in the face of my frustration and helped me take my rental. He likewise processed my return the next day. I commend his knowledge and professionalism

I called to talk to the location about the charge and all I got was, sir you need to call corporate, I know nothing, blah blah blah, very frustrating

Matthew MThe air in front right tire was low. Noticed as i left the place. I was able to manage with low tire since it was only for 60 miles, but was concerned all along of something going wrong as a result. I think, basic checks should be performed at least before the rental.
