The people that work at the gas station couldn't be bothered to help or give any direction. I called the number, they gave me another number to call and there was zero direction for what to do once I got there. Had to call the number again to ask what to do. My father who came with me and has a bad back had to unhitch the trailer and move it by himself. There were two gentlemen who worked at the gas station that just watched him and didn't offer to help.Kamille L.

You can make sure that you actually provide the customer with any additional equipment that they rent. Even though I recieved a $22 credit for the blankets and the dolly. I was badly compromised in my readiness and ability to protect and move my items. It was very upsetting to be forced to waste time and scramble for those items at the last moment. ABSOLUTELY THE WORST EXPERIENCE POSSIBLE at U-Haul (located at 208 Middle Neck Road, Great Neck, NY, 11021). I rented a 15' U-Haul truck on this past Wednesday (Oct. 6, 2021) @2:57pm and brought the truck back to the same location the next day (Oct. 7, 2021) @2:12pm. Both the pickup and return of the truck rental was handled by Vincent (who is supposedly the manager at this location). Upon getting the keys and entering the truck yesterday, I noticed that the gas gauge clearly showed that the fuel tank was barely over the 1/2 full mark but on the rental agreement it erroneously indicated that the fuel tank was 3/4 full. I took pictures of the dashboard with the odometer and gas gauge before moving the vehicle to document this. Also, the cargo area of the truck had mounds of soil & dirt and muddy smears all over. I also took pictures to document the dirty state of the truck prior to my renting of the truck. Upon arriving today to return the vehicle (N.B.: BEFORE the 24 hour rental period elapsed), I promptly went inside to the rental counter to return the keys and to get a receipt. I took this opportunity to showed Vincent my photo evidence from the day before regarding the misstated fuel levels. Vincent begrudgingly acknowledged that error and then told me to park the truck in a space occupied by his own Honda vehicle (which he said he would move so that I could park the truck.) I'm not certain why he wanted me to move the truck considering I already gave him back the keys. Anyway, I waited about 20 minutes but no one moved his Honda out of the space. When I went back to the rental counter to ask when I could get my receipt so that I could leave, Vincent behaved with extreme hostility. He acted not only unprofessionally but was shockingly crass & rude. He shouted obscenities, utilizing vulgar & offensive language, shouting about how busy he was (while holding a personal conversation on his cell phone the whole time), and that people need to learn to wait, and repeatedly stating that he works for BP (British Petroleum) and NOT for U-Haul. He shouted at me to leave and process the truck return by myself on the internet. As I was standing directly in front of him, I asked him to process my return while I was there. He snidely threatened, â€œWell, then you need to fucking wait because I'm busy working. Even when I'm not busy, maybe I won't even process your return at all.â€ I have recorded pics, video and audio of Vincent's aforementioned behavior. After waiting nearly 45 minutes, Vincent told me that his computer was slow so he couldn't process my rental truck return. He told me to contact Adam Herrmann (U-Haul Area Field Manager) at 1-631-806-1702. Upon calling Mr. Herrmann, I found out that Vincent had charged me for a two day rental when I returned it well before the initial 24 hours of my rental period had elapsed. With his prior comments, this seems to be a blatant malicious attempt by Vincent to waste my time further. Mr. Herrmann apologized and said that he will correct this billing issue by close of business on Thursday (Oct. 7, 2021). Thus far, I have received no refund nor response back from anyone at U-Haul. I am a criminal prosecutor and had two court appearances in front of judges for felony sentencing hearings in afternoon (Thursday, Oct. 7, 2021). Vincent's appalling behavior and his intentional delays in processing my truck rental return caused me to miss both court appointments. I am extremely disappointed with this U-Haul rental experience. From start to finish, this was a horrendous ordeal that was completely unwarranted and did not need to have happened. To summarize, my aggrievements start with the misstatements of the fuel level of the truck, to receiving a uncleaned truck with a dirty cargo area, to egregious hostility and verbal abuse by the U-Haul representative Vincent, to unreasonable delays and ultimately to over-billing. While there are numerous methods of recourse that I can take, I will wait 24 hours for U-Haul's customer service and complaints department to address and resolve this situation.
