The automated checkout process on the app was very confusing and I had to finally go inside to finish checking in, and the guy there was having a hard time, as well. Maybe simplify that some for everyone?Chris M.
Got charged an additional $16.50 for fuel that was returned at a higher level than the level I received it at. I have pictures of them both. You don't have the option to do anything with the truck before signing the contract. Didn't get the keys to check that. In the 31 miles I drove and putting 4 gallons in apparently they needed an additional 3 gallons of fuel in a 31 mile trip. 7 gallons for 31 miles is excessively insane. Already spending over $100 and the additional $16.50 is not rightJORDAN P.

I tried using the contactless online method of pickup but the website was unresponsive and wouldn't complete the process. I tried calling the support number provided and it said I would have a 55 minute wait time. If it wasn't for the staff onsite it would've been a nightmare to complete my pick up. You really need to fix the online experience to be more lenient for slower connections.Mycah M.

No improvement necessary!!! Ballinger Heated Storage met us step for step with every mishap we had during our 2 day move. They passed on important messages and reached out when we were not showing up as planned and helped problem solve so we got a wacky move accomplished. I cannot recommend this company more. This is the second time in the last 2 months that we've rented out a uHaul. Both times, we opted for the 24/7 truck share program so we could quickly and efficiently check out the truck. Both times, it didn't work and it has taken the sales associates almost an hour to check us out. For this time specifically, we had a reservation confirmed an hour before the location opened. We showed up, but we couldn't actually check in until they opened (at 9:30). They still wanted us to have the trcuk due back at the original time and they took almost an hour to check us out - so our 4-hour reservation was cut almost in half. All of this is to say, we probably won't be using uHaul again unless absolutely necessary.ASHLEY JENICE H.

This is by no means a criticism of the employee, Jason (I believe) but the van had been returned 3 days prior and the former renter did not complete the app return, thus locking Jason out of not one but two vehicles. It took him calling to U-Haul, explaining the problem, waiting for a call back from a supervisor to unlock it. A better app system or procedure needs to happen. This took almost 30 minutes. Jason was great but, still, not the best experience!Pamela F.

I did not give an excellent rating for the location because the customer service representative did not inform me about the check in procedure being in the email. She said I would receive an email which I assumed would be a receipt. I waited an extra day to check out the van since they said they were having difficulty checking it back in from the last customer and I can only assume that was probably because they hadn't explained about the emailEd check in procedure to them either. I came back the next day as soon as I saw the email and no one was there even though it was during regular business hours. Fortunately their was a paper in the window with the phone number for U-haul assistance. The U-haul customer assistance representative was very polite and professional in resolving the situation which was a great relief to me. U-haul has always been a great resource over the years and will always get a good review from me. The service at the location helping me get my storage unit and being able to get a moving van in the same location was great but it's important that customers receive an explicit explanation about the email check in procedures. Also the email check in is a great thing even though I didn't get to use it.LINDA S.

The U-haul portion of the rental was AWFUL !! the Ballinger Storage Facility was its saving grace. None of the ONLINE set up worked- the reservation had my address from 5 yrs ago & wouldnt update - then when I came to pick up the truck in pissing rain/sleet, I had to fool around taking pictures of my ID and my I-phone Location wasn't set - so after 45 minutes of getting that sorted I could not get my keys out of the lockbox. That was another 30 minutes... turns out the manger Onsite never even had the keys INSIDE the box - but this stupid lock box thing was impossible to open, cold frozen metal- even the U-haul help said they were not familiar with the lock box. Apparently you have you do some microscopic alignment thing with the numbers, my hands were frozen - no way to tell!. Then I was overcharged for a piece of equipt - U-haul corrected that part quickly - but it happened because ONLINE it asks you 3 or 4 times & then throws stuff into the cart without your consent even when I declined the eqipt choice in previous steps- You can't just SKIP the BS of extra stuff the online booking throws at you - all I needed was a truck ! What a nightmare renting from U-haul !!!! I've done 10 years of moves - But I'm going to a rental service with PEOPLE next time i.e HOME DEPOT-Same cost, no headache - a LIVE PERSON....
