1. Be sure your UHaul independent operators make it clear when a reservation IS NOT guaranteed. 2. Change your gas policy so it's similar to rental vehicle norms.... in other words ensure the UHaul rental vehicles have full tanks. Since your customers, compared to U Haul's corporate and franchise operators are not as knowledgeable as to the rental vehicle mileage and gas tank size, as it is with rental cars, it is much easier for Uhaul 's customer and more customer friendly to start with a full tank upon equipment pick-up and return the UHaul equipment in full rather than picking up the rental on a partially filled tank and trying to return the equipment at the same partially filled tank level. In my case I started with 1/4 tank and returned the equipment with ~5/8 full tank. Unless U Haul chooses to refund the excess gas I purchased as a result of not knowing the typical mileage rate of the vehicle or its tank size, my rental cost ended up being the cost of ~15 to 18 gallons of extra gas in favor of UHaul. It's much easier and convenient for UHaul customers to start on full tanks and return the equipment on full tanks. However, for those customers that choose not to bring the UHaul equipment back with a full tank, then like the rental car companies do, U Haul would reserve the right to charge the its customer for the actualcist to top off the tanks to full plus a surcharge for the U Haul franchise or corporate staff's time to fill the tanks to full.

TERESA JNeed to contact gal for a refund. Trailer is not specifications as listed on site. 6x12 trailer with ramp is not 6’ wide. Took home and returned immediately because it was useless. Rented same trailer without ramp multiple times and it is true to listed specifications. Expect refund from U-Haul.

Tom KRented a6x12 trailer in Aitkin, Mn. for a one way Mn. to Az. Was told by U Haul in Mn. If I dropped off trailer early, I would be credited for unused days. This turned out to be FALSE. Sounds a little like false advertising!
Edward STruck was filthy , The owner swept it out. He was extremely nice. The air conditioning wouldn’t work. 2 days and 800 miles of heat and road noise. That was not a good experience. You owe me a refund of 1/3 We were not in a position to return or reload our items
PAUL NHardware store only certain employees are trained to help with Uhaul trucks. Had to wait, they pulled truck up and gave us key and said gas was 1/2 full, did not do a walk around to check for damage, Also every other time I have rented a truck there has been a dolly attached in case I needed it I could snip the zip tie and use then get charged. This truck did not have it in there, Good thing I had brought mine along but could have used second one. Also there was a dog walking around and I am allergic, I do not frequent places that have non service animals.

Brandon EThe instructions for drop off were not clear. The staff at the drop off location sounded angry when she called me—despite the fact that the online instructions said we should put the keys in the key box (which we did) and a staff member would call. She sounded angry that we did not come into the location to check in the vehicle, even though that’s not what the directions said and it was not at all obvious that that was what we were supposed to do. If the expectation from the staff is different than the online instructions, that should probably change on one end or the other.

Isaac BLocal location did great job. Only frustrated with national scheduling process. Had equipment reserved and they changed to different location 100 miles away. What other company would they that is acceptable to customers. Try that in car rental or airline industries. I had to downsize my truck to pick up at original location. Extra trips in smaller truck cost me more money for mileage.

Karen LIt took me over two hours to pick up the truck. I got there and had to call because I never received anything from the place as far as a contract or email on how to pick up when store is closed. Once I got off the phone because the lady told me what to do, I checked my email and was following the directions just to find out the truck they told me to get was not there. Then I had to wait 40 min to talk to someone and let them know the truck they stated I should pick up was not there. The lady set up another truck and I went through the checklist of things to do and started driving away. I then noticed the cup holder had melting m&ms in there. When I got to my destination I noticed there was a crack in the windshield across the bottom. The entire time I was driving it I was worried I was going to end up being charged for it. I even ended up being charged for an extra day because according to the contract (that had the wrong truck on there) stated I needed to drop it off by 7:30pm because I picked it up at 6:30. Due to not even knowing what truck I had until after 8:30 pm I figured I would have at least half an hour more time but that was not the case. The app blacked out on me 3 times making the truck at the drop off location at 8:05 so was charged $97 more.
