I paid for 2 furniture dolly’s and they didn’t put them in the truck. Screwed me over for my entire moving process. I will not be doing business with this company again.

I dropped it off after hours (service offered) but there is no drop off box for the keys (and searching the internet it is not a new problem!!). You could see where it used to be on the wall, but it looks like it had been torn off sometime in the distant past. I spent an hour on the phone on the side of the road in the rain (at 10:00 PM) trying to find someone at U-Haul that can tell me what to do with the keys since there was no way to leave the keys anywhere. Finally told to leave the truck unlocked on the side of the road, with the keys under the passenger seat! Also galling was that while I got a reasonable rate, buried in the text was a $20 drop off charge if I did it after hours. Also annoying was that whoever had the truck before me made sure they fueled it up just enough so that fuel gauge touched the lower side of "F". So the tank appeared "full" and the onboard computer estimated remaining mileage at 320. But when I filled it up, the onboard computer estimated remaining miles at 380 miles. To properly fill it, I had to put in 22 gallons (for 180 highway miles with a 1/2 loaded truck). What a ripoff.

I booked this truck for 8am on the date I needed it and got an email the night before that I couldn't pick up until the shop opened at 11am. If you can't pick up until the place is open, they need to make that more clear.

They mistakenly put my key in the wrong lock box and so someone else was able to get it while I was going through the lengthy verification process. Thankfully I noticed and spoke up and we were able to get it straightened out. Also the app is poorly designed and very glitchy. The verification process is unnecessarily long. You should be able to upload PDFs of lease agreements, not just have it open the camera. The options are NOT easy to see what step you are on. Overall a very poor pickup experience. Everything else went smoothly.

The app did not work. I spent 45 minutes on hold trying to complete the check out. Then, I was hung up on and had to call back again, wait on hold again. Because of this, I was 1.5 hours late getting my vehicle checked out, then the representative tried to tell me I wouldn’t be able to check out the vehicle at all because it needed to be back for another customer. Then, the app wasn’t working to check back in the vehicle. The vehicle itself was fine, but when you are on a time limit with movers coming, you have multiple problems with the app, and long wait times it as absolutely a mess. I would never recommend and will not be using Uhaul again, especially not the self check out.

Professional, thoughtful individuals. They got me in and out fast and when I brought the truck back early they didn't charge me for the extra time when they could have. Ass a veteran, I sincerely appreciate good service like that. They accommodated me with a free upgrade on the appliance dolly. They really go above and beyond. You can't beat service like that.Thank you

The truck pulled to the right when driving. The check engine light was on. The cab light didn't work. I was not provided a code to return the key or told that one would even be needed when returning the key so I had to leave it in the mailbox of the location. I made sure to add a dolly to my order online, I double checked that it was included and asked if it would be in the truck while paying and was confirmed "Yes, its included and will be on the truck" only for me to arrive on site of the move and there was no dolly on the truck. I called and was told "Oh, that's because they don't have any dolly's." So why did this same person look me in the eyes and tell me "Yes it will be on the truck" knowing they did not have any? Not a big deal, I simply asked for a refund for the dolly I never received. However, I have yet to see that refund.

I arrived 30 minutes early for my pick up. Waited. Employees started arriving about 10 minutes before pick up time. Looked at me like I was a homeless person. Told them I was there to pick up the truck. They said I'd have to wait until 10 am when they opened. Went to the door at 10. Still locked. They opened the door at about 5 after and asked me how they could help me. Was probably 10:30 before I got out of there with the rig. Definitely a side-hustle not at the top of their priority list.

This site is a pick up or drop off site by appointment only, not a general drop in and get want you need site. Having said that it was very quick, friendly service point.

In the end, I successfully rented and returned a moving truck, but I was not at all prepared for all the steps I had to take, especially with contact verification (in addition to selfie, driver's license photo and scan). Also, when I attempted to call customer service it was a 15 minute wait. Luckily I got things to work without help, but it was not straight-forward. The process needs to be improved and needs to involve pre-approval through customer service before a renter shows up to an empty lot (in winter), wondering if things will work out. I'm fairly technical and it was not an intuitive process. I fear for most, it would be even harder or unsuccessful. I will not be renting virtually like this again if I can at all avoid it. It was nice overall. My main complaint was I received the U-Haul with half a tank of gas and had to fill it up both prior to leaving and prior to dropping it off. Overall it was quick and easy and I would use U-Haul again.

Items we had reserved were apparently stolen out of the back of the truck resulting in driving to another location to pick them up. The U-Haul truck share 24/7 was absolutely horrible-it was like being in an escape room to try and get in to the truck. We will never do that again!

The location does not have moving supplies or accessories to fulfill an order made through U-haul, the only have equipment. If you only need a truck, it’s a great location, very convenient. If you need a dolly or furniture pads, order from another location.

I tried to use the web-app to pick up my truck on move day. At first, it could not find my location, even though location services were active. I finally had to call your help desk, and they cleared a problem after 20 minutes. Then I spent another 20 minutes taking pictures and so forth, but I got to the end and was just about to get the key when your app kicked me off and simply said that it could not complete the transaction. It asked me to start over from the beginning. I tried to start over, but the system would not let me. By then, the u-haul office was open and the nice guy there tried to help me, but he could not complete the transaction on his system either because my original attempt to get the key was blocking his system. Another call to your help desk and they cleared the problem and the nice u-haul guy was able to process my rental on his system. All in all, it took an hour and a half to pick up my rental. That is HORRIBLE !! The web-app for pick-up and drop off is a good idea (five stars), but my experience with YOUR system was totally unacceptable! (Minus five stars).

Our U-haul kept getting double booked and we were also told to go to anacortes to pick up a u-haul when that’s an hour drive for us. Your customer service was absolutely terrible. The lady didn’t even try to get us a different U-haul after ours was double booked. Won’t be going to U-haul again.

Reserved a utility handtruck (commonly referred to as a dolly, the kind that has two wheels & you haul heavy stuff upright with) alongside a 10-foot truck - by the time I got the truck to my apartment to start loading it up, we discovered the handtruck was not in the back. Come to find out that, in addition to the U-Haul location receiving 10 trucks instead of their requested 4, they were not provided any U-Haul equipment so the location I picked the truck up from loaned me their sole handtruck for the duration of my rental.

This survey asked the wrong questions. The person that helped us was wonderful. HOWEVER...the Uhaul website and system was TERRIBLE! I made a 9am reservation with the mobile app pickup 3 weeks prior to my rental. I arrived at 9 and started the checkin and was told that it was a 'hand delivery' and I had to come back at 11. I had $200/hr of helpers waiting for 2 hours because your website messed up. Then I arrive and my reservation doesnt show up on their screen. He had to call a help center that was just someone saying "I dont know" over and over. He then had to call some supervisor and that person did something that made my reservation suddenly appear on their screen at the coin shop. So in summary: Be less worried about how well your contract agent locations do and be a LOT more worried about how your system is utterly broken.

We were down graded without being warned and forced to use a truck that was not big enough to move our house. There is literally a uhaul location on meridian with many different sizes of trucks in Bellingham, that were available! After being told by 'Krystal' that there wasn't a single larger truck in the entire city!! I don't know why we were tricked like this. Maybe uhaul just wanted to force us to get a trailer or rent a 2nd truck, which we almost did, and suck more money from us? Especially when we were on a set schedule and could not do anything about it. We got up at 4am to get our moving truck loaded. I will constantly share this story to everyone I know in hopes they won't be subjected to this disrespectful, frustrating and bullying tactics.

The only thing I would change is to have clearer markings on the key drop box at this drop off location , as it looks nothing like the photo in the online directions. There was only a black drop box (which looks like a mailbox for the antique business at that location), and then a smaller, inaccessible locked box with a UHaul sticker on it. I did put the keys into the black “mailbox” drop box, but was not feeling very confident about it when I left.

I was very disappointed that my pick-up time was delayed by 2.5 hours and location for pick-up was moved 12.2 miles away. I had to reschedule when the movers would be meeting me at my condo as well as when my dog sitter would be off duty in Lacey, WA, since my departure time was delayed. When I dropped the truck off at the U-Haul distributor the app informed me that I owed a little for extra mileage. I am pretty sure the extra mileage was added to the U-Haul from back tracking 12.2 miles on the road, which put me over the mileage for the trip. Mileage as outlined: 12.2 backtracking from Bellingham, WA, to the pick-up in Ferndale, WA +160.3 miles (directly to the freeway from my original point, did not take any detours, took the speediest way off the freeway to the destination, and unloaded) +4.6 miles (stopped at the gas station en route to the U-Haul drop-off point) TOTAL=177.1 miles (Versus 172 mileage I was allowed.) I was moving a piano and, this is on me, I assumed there would be a ramp on the U-Haul truck. The information about this is written on the U-Haul vehicle description at the very bottom, "Loading ramp: None." I had to problem solve to borrow a ramp from a friend when I arrived back in Ferndale. The parking lot at Bellingham Coin Shop had the vehicle well parked for easy exit, but I was not physically able to check the back of the vehicle to verify that this was missing. This is my main complaint about all of this: during the online check-out there was no indication that I may want to rent a ramp for the move, which would have made me reassess the vehicle being rented. I just feel like there was no filter, or question, on U-Haul's end to make sure I was getting exactly what I needed. As I shared all of this with my brother, he mentioned that he had never seen a U-Haul truck without a ramp. I think it would behoove U-Haul to be verifying this moving conundrum. I was trying to figure out why my U-Haul price was $231.97, when during the online ordering the price was estimated as $175 for the vehicle, $5 for the environmental charge, and $5 for SafeTrip, totaling $185. That's an increase of $46.97. I understand the rental tax, but this near $50 increase is horrendous. Looking at the receipt now I think the gentleman at the counter in Bellingham had increased the damage protection plan to the $28 Safemove, which I think was poorly communicated to me at the counter since the clerk asked me to verify which damage protection plan I had selected, which online I had selected “Immediately reimburse U-Haul for damage,” since there is no charge up front. When he asked me what I had selected I said that I had requested the cheapest option, which is when I believe he selected the $28 Safemove for me during checkout. I feel like this is on U-Haul with the intentionally confusing labels: SafeTrip and Safemove. Lastly, there was a utility dolly inside of the truck that I rented. I did not ask for one, nor did I use it.

They didn't know the vehicle was checked in because it had been used by one of their employees. So our reservation was transferred to a location miles away without informing us. We finally did get the cargo van there, but an hour of our time was wasted.

On arrival we were told that the truck had been Siphoned for gas so they weren’t sure exactly how much gas was in it. The truck itself was in very bad mechanical shape and had to be jumped two separate times because the battery was dead. We got there at 10:50 to pick up an 11:00 appointment rental. We did not get it until 11:30 because we were involved in a “bidding war” with someone else who expected to get the one I had ordered and would not leave nor would they just give me the keys to the uhaul until they sorted out what they could do for both of us even though the other people had scheduled to use it at 3 and their email even said so. This put me 30 minutes behind schedule and the people who had said they could help with the move couldn’t stay the full time because we lost almost 40 minutes when I had been early to begin with.

There is no clear key drop box situation for after hours drop off. There only seems to be a mailbox for the location with no clear uhaul markings. After searching for 10 mins in the rain and reading notes from other reviewers online I finally decided to drop the keys in the mailbox. The van was great, pick up was easy enough, but the drop off situation should reconsidered.

Got into uhaul had garbage all inside also in the uhaul had over 30 moving blankets was not told where there. Not to mention the dolly was free not strapped down moving so bad I had to stop to see what was in the back. I would never go back to this uhaul. Poor poor poor uhaul...
