Y IThe location didn’t have cellular signal and no WiFi. Even the representative said their system was very slow. When I did the reservation on the app my estimated price was lower than the one the representative had on his computer. He said he couldn’t adjusted to match what I had We had to drive like five blocks away to upload the driver’s license on the app because there was no cellular service at that location When we dropped off the van we couldn’t process the return on the app for the same reason. My phone was on sos, no signal and no WiFi If U-Haul wants the customers to do everything on the app they should provide WiFi The charge was much higher than the estimated. Don’t know why

GEORGE SThe vehicle fleet is generally old, and even the one I was given—supposedly the newest—already had over 100,000 miles on it. It also had numerous dents and scratches, so it’s essential to carefully inspect and photograph the condition before use. Furthermore, when I made the booking, there was a mistake in the duration. Instead of reserving the vehicle for 24 hours, it was mistakenly booked for 12 hours. Regardless, I had my credit card on file and had no intention of stealing an aged U-Haul truck. Despite this, the representative I dealt with was incredibly rude. At first, she insisted that I would be charged for an extra day, even though I was still within the 24-hour period. Later, when we spoke face-to-face, she changed her explanation, saying, “Since you’re late by half an hour, I will charge you for an extra day.” I hope that charging me for one extra day helps sustain your struggling business. If the same dismissive tone and poor customer service are how you plan to treat future clients, I’m confident it will lead to the success you deserve.

ALAN FHello, I'm writing this message in regards to my horrible experience today with U-Haul. I reserved a cargo van using U-Haul 24/7 self service via online/mobile app. The App recommended going an hour or earlier to accommodate the process to check in for rental. I got to the location 30-40 minutes early knowing I had to do the process for mobile pick up. I get to the location open my app and nothing is ready for me. I call customer service to see what's going on with my reservation. I spoke to a gentlemen named Alex and he told me I had to wait for the actual store to to open at 9:30. He also gave me other stores that I can go to but they were out the way. So he resolved that issue with giving me a $50 U-Haul refund. With no other options I waited and drove around town until the location was open. Once the location opened the gentlemen helped me with the issue. Checked in. Took a photo of my drivers license and gave me the keys to my rental. Once given the key he mentioned the key fob was broken. I shared with him the key fob is broken again and he said did you want another van? I told him it was no problem since I was in a rush now. Once I got into the van and sat down I was greeted by CIGARETTE odor and left over receipts in the cupholder and the door. I wanted to complain to the front desk but I was in a rush. So my first instinct was to roll down the windows. Once I turned on the vehicle I noticed the gas was not FULL. I caught the front desk attendant outside and called him over and told him. He said no worries, just fill it up as it was. I figured that was a little strange since for rentals you are supposed to fill it up with gas before you return it. Again, I was in a rush and told him okay no problem. Started the van again and rolled the windows down to get the smell out of the vehicle and off I was. 30 min to an hour went by and figured that's enough time for the cigarette odor to go away and it started to get hot around 90-95 degrees outside. So I shut all the windows, turned on the A/C and hot air started to come out. I figured since it's hot outside it will take a few min for the a/c to blow cold air. A few minutes went by and still blowing out hot air! I then thought maybe it the setting. Turned the dials to blue went to Max A/c NOTHING. ALL HOT AIR. 90+ DEGREES OUTSIDE IN A VAN AND THE A/C DOES NOT WORK! If you can imagine the scenario from pick up,waiting for them to open. the smell of cigarettes,now the a/c doesn't work. You can only imagine how frustrated I am. Is there a way we can resolve this issue with some type of discount to my total bill or some kind of refund. Thank you

Oguz GYour app sucks. Went to pick up van before office opened at 8am appointment it kept saying account not found after I set it up the day before. Called support who told me to try web site i i i ask her to say on phone while i try she agreed than hung up 10sec later so your customer service aint too great either. I also got errors on site. Had to come back at 9:30am to pick up van so I was 1 1/5 hrs behind schedule. Get it fixed.

Clifton LA fee for after hours return is nonsense and a money grab. I will go elsewhere next time. The truck also needs brakes. The sensors were squealing

Frendo pThe young man who assisted me in the transaction was very helpful, courteous, and answered all my questions. The truck was all scratched-up all over the body ( I am glad I decided to get the insurance, I did not want the hassle of dealing with any scratch/dents that I did not see when I picked up the truck). The truck had almost 100k miles, it rattled a bit, but I did take us to our destination and back. I recommend that the dolly is attached better to its place so that it does not fly out while making, right/ left turns with the truck. My understanding is that if the dolly is detached the tie wrap, there is an up charge. Therefore, if anyone is renting the truck and not using the dolly, make sure to open the back of the truck and reinforce the dolly to its attachment with a bunggy or a tie wrap so it does not detach and you won't have to pay. Fortunately, the young man at the front desk believed. that I did not use his dolly (because I had my own) and did not charge me for it.
Adriana BThe self check in process needs improvement. I made a reservation days in advance but was unable to initiate it in the app. Luckily, there was another truck available on demand, but the app glitched and did not allow me to enter mileage or fuel level. There should be a way to re enter this if there is a problem.
Benjamin AIt was extremely difficult. We tried and made several attempts to use the app to close out the reservation we called the 800 number tries. We went to the website. It would not allow us to check out and so now we are wondering whether we are going to wrongfully be charged for an extra day because the app did not work and two of the phone operators could not help us, it really was ridiculous. Both my husband and myself tried to utilize the app.

Abraham EFix your app. If you want people to use the app, make it usable especially at pick up and return time. I spent 20 minutes trying to upload the same pictures multiple times after the upload process crashed.
Moises FFine experience with one major exception. When I got there, I was told they need to scan of my driver's license. The lady working there told me I could do it myself by taking a picture of my license with my phone. I told her I prefer that she does it. However, she then proceeded to take out her PERSONAL PHONE to scan my license, explaining that UHAUL does not provide them an ID scanner. I then refused, and did it myself. I have never rented a car or U-Haul before where the facility is not provided with the proper equipment to do their job. In this case, UHAUL SHOULD BE PROVIDING AN ID SCANNER to each and every facility that rents their vehicles. IT IS NOT the customers responsibility to scan their own license/ documents.
