I was not made known that I would have to drive an hour away to pick up the truck bc one was not going to be at the location I requested to pick up until less than 24 hrs before. My son had graduation from veterinary school. Luckily I could make arrangements to pick up The truck and not miss his commencement. A confirmation phone call should be made MORE THAN 24 hrs in advance especially when a location that is selected cannot accommodate the request for a given truck. I was also then charged 14 EXTRA MILES even though I had to DRIVE 45 MILES OUT OF MY ORIGINAL RESERVATION TO GET THE TRUCK.Jeremy S.

We were not very happy we had to drive 45 miles out of the way to pick up the trailer. We did receive up dates about the new location. The trailer was not completely clean, Kenny offered to clean it, but we were short on time. Kenny was very nice and tried his best; however, the computer system was down and Kenny could not complete our pickup transaction and run a receipt. A receipt was later sent by email. Kenny was professional and provided us with his contact information. The Monticello U-Haul office did not stock adapters for the trailer lights (a missed sales opportunity). We had to go to the local auto parts store to make a purchase.Mark P.

I couldn't expect much more from a small town. The guy was nice, the office was, um, eclectic, the truck was clean but I had a blowout occur about an hour west of Indianapolis:-/ Took them almost 2 hours to get road side assistance dispatched. Took almost 2 hours for them to get to me for a grand total of 4 hours delay.Roberta V.

I only put no on well maintained because the gear shift was sloppy. The gas mileage was ridiculous, 8 miles took 10 in gas to put back to the return requirement? I rented a truck the week prior and put almost 110 miles on it, that only took 20 to refill. The proprietor was helpful, so it was a positive experience. I was surprised that a dolly is not a standard issue item in the truck, it is designed for moving things after all. Previous location had me spend 7 a day to rent one but this location didn't have any to rent.Brent W.

For UHaul Corporate: Have your regional manager treat customers with more respect. We had to drive 120 miles round trip to pick up our equipment, and when my wife called to ask for compensation for our time and gas money she was treated rudely and as though we were in the wrong. It's one thing to not have a truck nearby, and to have us drive to pick up a rental. It's something else entirely to treat us like we're greedy for not wanting to lose two and a half hours in the middle of a move.charles S.

The people that came out that was supposed to hook trailer up did not lock trailer down to the 2 in ball on the truck so trailer came unhooked after starting to load car and it took 45 + min to even get trailer all done after I even pre book online and was already unhappy that the uhaul in Rochester IN was closed at 1155am when online it said they closed at 12:00 pmRussell V.

I waited for an hour and a half for someone to show up, during their normal business hours, after an agreed upon meeting time. This was after traveling 45 minutes to pick up the truck, and after the first uhaul dealer couldn't provide the truck that was reserved... Worst UHaul experience ever. These two delays caused me to miss an entire half days moving time and caused all of my movers to back out. I will never use U-Haul again. I reserved this truck, but for what? I thought the purpose of a reservation was to reserve a truck.... I was never notified that the reserved truck was unavailable, until I showed to pick it up. Horrible service!tony B.

Ken in Winamac was great. The Uhaul we needed hadn't been returned on time. He called the person who was supposed to return it, who didn't want to return as scheduled, and got them to return it. He turned what could have been a disaster for us (as my daughter had to be out of her Chicago apt. that day) into something we could work with.barry L.

I received email verifying my rental was at my desired location. When I arrived at the given time, it was not there and neither was the agent. When reached by phone, he located a unit for us 35 miles away. Since we were meeting a timeline, we had no choice but to make the drive for the unit. And return it to the further location. In the future I will do a better job verifying and not be so trusting.audrey N.

We made a reservation to pick up a truck in Lafayette, IN and there were none available. So we had to drive an hour from Lafayette to pick up a truck -- that was the nearest location that had one available. They gave us a discount for not having a truck available as requested, and an additional discount for the extra mileage/gas we had to replace. But it was still very inconvenient as we were unable to leave when we wanted due to the extra driving to pick up the truck.DAVID W.
