I've rented numerous trucks through UHaul and this was the worst quality of equipment I've ever had. While the customer service was fine, the quality of the truck was subpar. Even though there were many dents on the vehicle itself, the worst was the Muffler. Had this been an across town move, it would not have been an issue. But we drove this truck from South Dakota to Orlando, FL, in one of the noisiest cabs ever. Not sure if the muffler was loose or just bad, but very disappointed in UHaul this time.TIM S.

Have more trucks/vans available, so that when someone reserves a truck A MONTH IN ADVANCE, it is there and in ready condition. Plus, the truck was old- crank windows(!) and no cruise control. Also, my aunt said that they just gave her the key and did not walk her out or show her anything about the truck.EILEEN L.

The customer service went above and beyond in being helpful to secure a trailer during the South Dakota bike rally. This young lady was pleasant and curtious and in this day in age as a consumer you don't find that quality of customer service.anita L.
I was told I could drop off anywhere in Fargo, this turned out to be false. Seems the people who hand out and pick up are not allowed of have any knowledge in how whole system works. Very poorly run company, I will never use again or recommend anyone to use.terry B.

With a confirmed reservation and request to pick up my rentals at the Rapid City, Deadwood location, I got sent 15 miles further to Box Elder, SD. i had to wait well over 1 hour for the staff to process my order confirmation. After that i received no help loading my car onto a transport and the lot guy parked the box truck and carrier in a location unsuitable to load my car. So i had to jockey around to get this done. Fortunately I'm quite resourceful and could manage this myself, one other may have experienced difficulty. They were polite but very unorganized. I felt sorry for the people in line behind me.Bob G.

Your computer system needs a complete overhaul. I reserved a trailer with my credit card to be picked up at Deadwood Ave in Rapid City SD then 24 hours prior to pick up were sent to Ellsworth Air Base as they didn't have any available. The gentleman didn't have any of the information so had to be inputted again. The 5X8 trailer we rented should have never been given to us as it didn't have a locking pin to keep the tightening knob in place. Reserved a storage unit at my destination but when I called 24 hours prior to reconfirm was sent to another location. The only nice people (Becky, Dallas & Sharon) I talked to we're at my final destination at the corner of Main & Lindsey in Mesa AZ, they truly know what customer service is all about. Be more up front on prices and stop the over charging like 30 bucks for being a 1/3 of a gallon short of a 1/4 of a tank of fuel or charging 30 bucks to just sweep out the back end of a 10ft truck that takes two seconds!! For an internet rental truck for two days costed $159.00 and at the time I picked up the truck I was only told and quoted $29.00 bucks roughly a day as well as going over on milage you guys raped me definitely raped me there on price.. I don't think I'll ever rent one of your trucks again cause there rigged to eat gas let alone I swear the mileage is rigged as wellBRANDON E.

These employees were great people. I had to drive 15 miles to a different location to pick up another item I was renting. U-Haul needs to be more accommodating and deliver this 15 miles away so the customer doesn't have to do a bunch of driving around. This is a U-Haul problem not the problem with the people renting the equipmentTOMMY M.
I'm sorry I didn't get his name, but the guy who handled the paperwork was great. I asked to change to a larger trailer and luckily he had one available. He took care of it promptly and professionally. I expect that, but don't see that in other businesses as I should.RICHARD V.

Rental Location was not the location I originally selected. Luckily, i checked my reservation before going to pick up the trailer only to find it the location had changed. This is something that should be have been brought to my attention as soon as the original location could not support me and my reservation moved to another location.ROBERT K.

Tell the truth. I booked a month ahead in Dickinson ND. I told 24 hours before pick up that I needed to go Rapid City ( a four hour drive) to pick up mY truck. I am single so that would have been impossible for me. I would have had leave my car and drive truck instead. Luckily my daughter was able to help. No clue there was a problem. 24 hours to figure this out. Attitude of Uhaul. Indifference.Alison H.

I was charged a cleaning fee for a few pieces of grass from my lawn mover. The trailer was already dirty when I picked it up. My mattress had lots of black dirt from the trailer and has to me cleaned now. I think it's Ridiculous that I was charged $15 for grass.STEVEN G.

My rental was the last of a nightmare I've had for a month with U-Haul. agent was extremely nice. However, she gave me a vehicle that was reserved. I wasn't able to leave knowing the amount due. It was corrected though. At the end of March we rented a trailer in Bakersfield CA to move to Rapid City SD. On pickup they said it was unusable and they had no trailer for me. A day later they found one. When they installed it, they put the receiver and ball on upside down. We towed 1500 miles with the hitch less than 2 inches off the ground. Many ground strikes! When we reached South Dakota, our â€œfree month storageâ€ was in a spot with no lights and way too small for our load. This is the short version of a horrible association with U-Haul. I've moved dozens of times over the last 60 years (including several military moves). So I'm no stranger to moving myself or others. I do know I will never use U-Haul again! And there will be no encouragement to others to use you either. Some serious evaluation needs to be done on your services and maintenance staff. I'm a retired aircraft maintenance flight line supervisor and retired IT Director. In both rolls I would have fired the people I encountered (with the exception of the agent for the final rental. However, she would receive procedural training). I sincerely hope this makes its way to senior staff in your company and not shuffled away.ALFRED L.

We told the PickUp spot in Box Elder that we had to drive to Custer SD to pick up our possessions prior to driving to Plymouth MN. The internet ad said we got 4 days and 720 miles which would have covered the trip to Custer. The pickup spot would not honor the 50 miles to Custer, then to MPLS from Custer.Natalie R.

Make sure vehicles are cleaned out before customers use them. The clerk mentioned that the truck had just arrived and had not been cleaned up. It looked like he was the only one in the store handling the store AND the U-Haul, so I did not want to wait a long time for him to clean it. If this is a location used a lot, two people at least should be working in the store. He did hive me wipes to use for free to clean it out, it was quite filthy.Kathryn S.

I was supposed to pick up the trailer at the Deadwood Ave location in Rapid City. I was not pleased with the change in pickup location, as this added 25 miles plus it took an extra 2 hours because their competitors were not working right. Not a pleasant experience!arlis B.
