Total lack of customer service. Have used Uhaul numerous times, including a move from Cincinnati. Have always felt that customers service was important to Uhaul. Not this time.

Steering of the truck felt loose, like bad control arms/bushings. There was brown spots splattered on the ceiling like a soda blew up in the cab. Cargo lights didn't work at all. Staff at location seemed nice enough during checkout though.

They did not honor my reservation to drop off the truck at a different location. They said we had to return the truck to their exact place where we rented it. This caused us an additional 4 hours of driving. I was very upset. Not good at all.

Could have used help opening the door when I wheeled out a cart. Truck not swept out. I did not examine the fuel gauge on pickup, but I drove 38 miles and put in 5.2 gal of gas. Does that U-Haul van really only get 7 mpg? Dropping things off afterwards was extremely easy, thanks.

The person managing the location was very rude. There is no customer service attitude. He was more interested in telling us to leave instead of finding solution. I had forgotten mask and he said "before you say a word, leave or wear mask". It could have been easily said "Please wear a mask". I wore the mask and took the rented truck. However, he could have been pleasant. I will not come to that location anymore.

Electrical cable on trailer was badly frayed resulting in no tail lights on the trailer. We didn't know until we were in our way home and were stopped by a police officer who had us pull off the road until sunrise. That trailer should never have been rented with that cable in that condition. Very unsafe.

15' truck was dirty and not maintained (battery cable was falling off of terminal, steering was dangerously loose and made truck hard to keep inside traffic lane on freeway, whole truck was filthy). Horrible service for the price.

make sure the vehicle is current on the wheel alignment and the brakes are well kept and maintenance. the 26" truck i received was terrible. the alignment was off and the brakes were so steep that it was hard to gauge when it will or will not stop.

Let customers know when making reservations the location selected available or not, not the night before date to pick uhaul. I made reservation for certain city, night before was told I had to pick the uhaul up in another city. Unexceptabl!

The customer service was horrible. I had a reservation but that did not appear to matter once the employee got upset. I was in the office first and my dad walked in shortly after me to remind me to rent a dolly. Before my dad could even finish his sentence, the employee told him he had to leave because they could only help one customer at a time. My dad explained that we were together and the employee still made him leave. I felt that there was a better way to accomplish enforcing the one person rule. The employee should have been more polite about it. Nevertheless, my dad left but then came back and politely offered a suggestion that the sign on the door be more specific to say that even if you are a set of customers (like we were), only one could come in. The employee then proceeded to insult my dad by saying “If you aren't paying then you're not the customer.” I told him that he was splitting hairs at that point because we were still renting the truck together. He then became extremely belligerent and kicked us out of the store! I asked why he was so upset, as no one else was. No one was yelling, cursing or doing anything rude. He just said “I'm done. I'm not renting the truck.” My dad asked why since my dad had complied with leaving as the employee requested. He failed to answer his question and just said “take her with you!”, referring to me. I responded by asking why I was being kicked out when I hadn't done anything. He would not answer. I then asked for the manager's name and he said he was the manager. Then he said to just call U haul and deal with it. I told him no and that I wanted the manger's name. He finally gave me the card and I spoke to the general manger who subsequently let me rent the truck. It was such an awful experience. I could not believe the employee was behaving that way. Even if he did not like what my dad said, it was nothing rude that would incite such a disrespectful response. Especially to the extent of being kicked out! I have never in my life been treated that way. It should be noted that, although this all stemmed from the employee rudely trying to enforce the one person rule, he didn't stick to it himself. While he was telling me to get out, before I actually left the building he told the next customer (a Caucasian man. My dad is black by the way) to come in and that he was ready to serve him even before I could gather my things to leave. I find that very disturbing. I think the employee would benefit from anger management classes or at least a refresher in positive customer service practices.
