Always enjoy working with Brynes Towing location and Dan. Vehicles are always functional and meet our needs well. While we are attracted to the daily rate of $19.99 for a 10 foot truck and we understand the mileage charges, I am always surprised by the seemingly myriad additional "hidden" fees and charges that add up to a much higher rate than expected.

The staff at Byrne Towing were great. Friendly and helpful. It was a smooth process. If I ever need to rent a U-Haul again, I would go there again.

I’m rating this way because my issues were not with Bryne’s Towing they were nice, courteous, and not the problem here. This was one of the WORST experiences of my life. U-Haul as a company is a complete joke and from now on I will exclusively hire movers instead of even bothering with U-Haul. If the location you are getting the U-Haul from is closed you have to use the mobile app, which is horribly annoying. It is not optimized, requires an insane amount of data, and in general not a good experience. It took over an hour to get a U-Haul between having to call and figure out how to get the keys to the lock box, finding out the specific U-Haul they assigned to me was at the back of the lot and not accessible, being on hold with U-Haul for 30 minutes trying to get a different truck assigned to me. That new truck was covered in damages to each and every side of the truck, some of it marked with X’s others not. My appointment time was 11:45 I didn’t leave the lot with the U-Haul until after 12:45. Drop off took just as long for the same reasons as above. U-Haul is an absolute joke and made the already stressful situation of moving 10x more stressful. Anyone looking to move look at other options because this company is over priced, they will nickel and dime you and give you fees for every little thing. U-Haul you made my move an absolute hell and the fact I had to pay you 158 dollars for such horrible service will be something that burns me daily for the foreseeable future.

Picked up U-Haul with 6"+ of Ice and snow on the roof. Took over an hour for three of us to clean off the roof to make it legal to drive in Massachusetts. I'm sure this was to be done by the dealer before we picked it up.

I found the app-based check-out process to be very slow and unnecessarily difficult. At least 20% of the check-out process could have been done in advance at the time of the reservation so it wouldn’t take as long when picking up the vehicle.

This uhaul experience was an absolute nightmare! My scheduled pick up time was 11:30am. The website and app would not let me pick up, kept sending me back to log in screen after going through all the steps, this happened a total of 38 times! 3 phone calls totaling well over an hour and 5 different reps...finally I was able to get my uhaul, 2 hours and 15 minutes later! Then upon getting the uhaul the app crashed during photos and wouldn't allow me back on. And upon opening the back of the uhaul I found that both the appliance dolly and utility dolly I reserved were not inside, and of course I wish there had been another day I could have reserved for during a time that the location was actually open, but we can't always get what we want, right? And in this case we can't always get what we pay for! Yet another call to uhaul...and more stress that literally almost landed me in the hospital. If there were a competitor, I'm certain uhaul would go out of business, but since there's not uhaul is what we get stuck with! Getting ready to move across the country in a few weeks, and you better believe I'm weighing out my options because of the absolute unnecessary stress and a few unprofessional and rude customer service agents. Grateful for the few good ones who actually did their job and helped me instead of continuously putting me in hold and literally telling me "goodbye" and hanging up on me because I was so overwhelmed I was crying! Horrible experience. 0 out of 10 stars

Byrne Towing is a very near my house, so I was hoping that the Car Dolly would make it's way there. Not that I would have to travel far if I needed to pick up at another location. Their lot is very cramped as they also need to park cars they are working on, and their tow trucks. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

The wifi which is required to access your key did not connect. I had two friends with me & it didn’t show up on their phones either. I was connecting to all other local businesses, so it wasn’t my phone. This caused an additional 40 minutes of waiting on hold for customer service. Also the 10’ truck I booked was not available even though 2 were sitting in the driveway. I had to use the largest truck which was stressful to drive. This also caused an additional customer service wait time. Overall it took 1 hr and 20 minutes to access the vehicle. Not a good experience.

The pick-up process was smooth and manager at the store was also helpful. However, we were not informed of the location change to pick up the truck until two hours before we had to leave for the airport, and this change required that we reserve a different hotel and give up the hotel we had paid for already, and also need to rent a car. We wish the change could be done much earlier.

The check out of the truck literally took one and a half hours. The internet/cell reception at this site was VERY slow, and the app had bugs which eventually led to my having to call Haul anyhow...and I stayed on a 20 min. wait before I was given service. I arrived at my pickup spot just after 9am, and we drove away with the truck around 10:30am. I would NEVER attempt to use Uhaul at this site, with the Smartphone pickup option again. Also, the mirror on the passenger side of the truck was broken, which we realized once we started driving...it swung out of position on it's own, and would not stay fixed.

Automated pick up drop off was difficult. 1. The app failed to find location. After multiple attempts I switched to the web. 2. I was unaware of the need for references at the time of pick up. Finding last second availability at 6 am proved difficult. I pre-checked in to avoid surprises. I was surprised anyway. 3 Drop off was equally difficult. Proof of no damages photos failed to upload. Navigating the app was miserable. Tried to do as much as possible before getting there - still required 30 mins of waiting and filling in forms once present (and in a heat wave no less). Required SO MANY pictures and no discount for doing an employee’s job. Whole thing was a huge waste of time. No place to leave a car that wasn’t sketchy - came back to handprints of someone looking into the car on all 4 windows.

I had no problem with the location or the equipment. However, I may never rent a U-Haul again due to the extreme issues I had with the app and with customer service when the app was failing. I started attempting to do an online rental at 11:26 AM so I put my pick up time for 11:30 AM. It took almost 3 hours of going back-and-forth between the app, the website, and multiple phone calls before I could finally pick up my truck. When I called the following day to see if I could return the truck later since it was through, no fault of my own that I picked it up late, they told me that I was already late because my drop off time was listed as 9:55 AM. When I was transferred to someone in the scheduling department and told that they could change my drop off time, they changed my time and then proceeded to tell me that I needed to be charged for that time and I would have to take it up with the pick up location when they opened again. They neglected to tell me that charge could’ve included and I only got a few hours and they said that was the day, when I asked to change the pick up time again since if I were paying for the truck, I might as well keep it longer, they were told that they would have to add another charge in order to do that even though the initial charge covered the day rate. Overall, a frustrating and expensive experience!

Be up front about Price. The window sign says $19.99 and it actually cost $150.00. I was charged $50 for gas, I would have filled the the truck up myself if I new fuel was not included in the $.89 miles cost.

Staff are very helpful, and 5x9 trailer w/ ramp is well-designed, easy to store and maneuver. Probably advisable to make guaranteed reservation on U-Haul website, because storage area is crowded, and when I just called to ask if a trailer was available, it was blocked in and inaccessible when I arrived to pick it up. Uploading driver's license in advance speeds up one's own check-in, but one is still at the mercy of whoever is in front of one in line.

I found the circular lock on the lock-box confusing. You can see letters on either side, but if you use the wrong side, it doesn't work. Also, the UHAUL App was extremely slow during the return procedure. I don' t know if it was a cell-phone signal issue, or if the servers were slow. (I had 2-3 bars of ATT signal). The App timed out several times in attempting to upload photos and the whole procedure took about 40 minutes that probably should have taken less than 10 minutes..

Stop doing online!!!!! Upsetting to do! Took me over 2hrs to pickup the truck. And when I came to drop it off I took pictures that didn't go thru again. And then I spoke to a man who said he was sorry it took me a long time, that he would handle it! Then I got a call asking me Questions??

Make sure internet service works in the area in which you have to pick up truck! BETTER INSTRUCTIONS FOR PICK-UP when place is closed! Took me over an hour to finally get the truck!!!

Needed to borrow someone's phone to complete after-hours rental return as the uhaul website would fail to work with mine (samsung s8+, firefox and chrome, most recent versions available). If that hadn't been available, I would have been in trouble.

Trailer was picked up and had a tire with low air pressure. Realized it was low when I got home. Added air and rechecked pressure the next morning, only to find tire had lost air overnight. Had to call road side assistance to replace tire. Facility should be checking tires before allowing customers to take unit. Apparently these were not checked. I rented this trailer to travel about 800 miles. No time for breakdowns.

The application that you confirm the fuel and any other changes to the condition of the truck did not work at all. You are recommended to reply to the text and agree to the information but the system requires a picture of the fuel and mileage and there was no way to upload that photo. Tech support was of no use and we just had to not send the message.

The trailer I needed 5' x 8' wasn't available at any location within 50 miles of my home. I would need to go to Springfield to pick it up. Luckily it was a nice day so I settled for an open utility trailer and had to rent furniture blankets for extra protection. It would seem since it's a popular product you'd have more of them in the area.

It's a side business at a garage. Got the job done, but the desk area was crowded and dingy. No on at desk for at least 5 minutes while we waited. Parking areas packed with vehicles.
