Your online info is not up to date. The locations managers dont recommend another location or any helpful info unless they can offer it to you...resulting in loads of extra time and stress. Some locations expectations are unrealistic..asking customer to travel an extra few hours to pick up a truck when there's a closer location they haven't revealed. The owner of Groton, Ct location is extremely pleasant accommodating and FAST!

My son called them. they were short with him and told him to call service. the battery was dead. . We dropped off vehicle. and dropped key in slot. tank was full. . exxon gas. . it was clean. i have pictures. . .

We had an appointment at 6am and the shop did not open to 7:30am. The owner was there at 6:45 and sat in his car for 45 minutes before opening the store. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Also, truck was dirty and not swept out.

Do not use this location if you are planning on any long distance towing. The owner/attendant came across as shaky. They connected the tow dolly real fast, started to walk back to where they were standing and they immediately said they need me to stay by the truck to test the lights. It felt they were trying to keep me away from the towing dolly (second time wondering about their behaviors). When testing lights I was at the cab of my truck. At first the attendant said the lights were not working. I rested my tow harness, he then said it was good on one side. They were obviously rushing me to leave, so I gave in and said I would check the harness at home as my time line was short and that I was an electronics tech in the Navy. Once I got home I starting retesting the tow dolly and immediately noted that no lights worked and that the tow dolly light cable on the passenger side was completely cut in plane site! I properly spliced the wires, still no lights. I started following the wires into the frame. All of the wires were bare in spots obviously grounding out to the frame. At this point I noticed my trunk running lights were not working (they had been). The trailer damaged my truck running lights. All fuses are good, so now wondering about a fusible link being bad. Anyway, in the end I called for UHaul mobile support. The mechanic was unable to fix all issues so finally had to rewire the entire harness and tie wrap it to the chassis. All of this caused me to postpone my trip. Then the next morning I role the car up onto the tow dolly and test the lights, only one side worked! Turns out the LED light assembly burned out…could not get one so ended up buying a separate right with magnetic lights. BTW…this is the second time something like this has happened to me using UHaul. The trucks are normally good but anything like tow harnesses or that is to be tow, in my experience is that all bet are off. Still need to fix my truck running light…Thanks UHaul!

This location informed me that my tow dolly was improperly hooked up and that I could have reported all the scratches and the dirty cab via my phone within 30 minutes of rental. However, I had to extend my truck rental but not my tow dolly rental and when I returned my tow dolly was told it would be taken care of, then when I returned my truck and received the receipt I found out it was not taken care of and I was charged for the tow dolly the entire time. Luckily I was able to call 1800UHaul and they fixed the charge for me but it was not a fun experience.

The owner was in a way “threatening” when I asked what happened if I could or bring back at time and mentioned he would call police if I didn't bring truck sharp in time. Also the windshield was super stained and could not clean it. I was originally charged $83 with mileage but ended up paying an additional $50 for unknown reasons. Bad experience

Honestly, this is the best U-Haul experience I have ever had- it was very straightforward and clean. The gentleman at the desk was extremely helpful and very nice and got us on our way very quickly; it is a real model for what customer service should be nowadays!

Have the equipment where it was reserved. NOT 25 miles away. The person there was very nice and professional. However U-HAUL Stated I could pick up with a soft top and the technician at pick up location would not allow it

Not a thing. Dave was extremely thorough in his explanation about how to load (and unload) the truck onto (and off of) the dolly the safest way, what to avoid and his advice about driving as well as potential dangers were things I would never have even considered. His guidance turned out to be accurate in my 1300 mile journey! Also, there were some issues with a voucher from my new employer. He did everything he could to resolve that while I was standing there and he tried many avenues before I arrived, even though it was something he was not trained for and it was resolved later by his field manager Joshua. In addition, in a conversation with a U-Haul rep. before pick up, I thought he (Dave) was a previous manager from years ago at another U-Haul location close-by who was difficult to deal with. The misunderstanding pertaining to personnel was fully MY FAULT. Dave was very professional, courteous, helpful and did everything imaginable to help me to have a good experience. He is a good man and I would definitely send someone looking for a U-Haul dealer in that area to him!

Ad far as C&C Xpress rent a car goes they dont need improvement. I'm not from the area, but I've been to this location twice and service has always been excellent. They are fast, courteous, and a pleasure to work with. Now the bad news... your location at 187 Gold Star Hwy, Groton CT has been the worst experience with uhaul I have had to date. I walk in and nobody is at the counter, not a soul. I walk around, then over to the bathroom and I hear noise in the ladies room. I listen a little closer and it sounds like a music video or a movie playing. I give her 5 minutes, then slam the mens room door, which is right next to the ladies room to get her attention. Nothing... I stood there for 20 minutes waiting for her to finish whatever she was doing in there. 20 minutes! It actually crossed my mind that I could clear out alot of the store in the time it was left unattended. So then out comes your uhaul representative! Disgusting, that's the best word I have for her. Dirty, unkempt, her uhaul shirt looked like I could identify what she had for lunch for the last five days. I told her I had been waiting for about 20 minutes and she said that happens some time. REALLY?? So I told her what I needed, she said she didn't have it available, so I asked if she could see who in the area might have it. She told me she couldn't check anyone's inventory because she needed her supervisors password. I asked if she could go online, she said yes, so I suggested uhaul.com, and she tells me she would still need her supervisors password to check inventory. I told her I can check inventory and her reply was, yes but it's usually not accurate. I walked out, got on my phone, went to c&c and got what I needed. I'll never go back to that other site again, you need to fire her, she is definitely bad for your business. My best description of her would be about 5' tall and grossly overweight. Not trying to be rude, just calling it like I saw it.

There was a bit of a mix with the pick up location but the regional coordinator Josh got it straightened out and picked up my trailer and moved it to the location that I had originally requested. All in all it was a good pick up.

Make sire equipment has all it's lights working, make the staff less robotic (add personality) don't assume customers are ignorant. Have loner 7 to 4 pin adapters it is asinine to have to by one for temporarily use.
