This location is small and relatively new, I think. It was close to my house, so I was glad to be able to rent from there on short notice. I had to change my reservation to order a bigger truck, but the system still showed availability. The employees who helped me were friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, the equipment was not what I’ve come to expect from U-Haul. The truck I rented had a passenger side mirror that wouldn’t stay put. It was useless. I had a time crunch, so when I discovered the problem, I couldn’t rent a different vehicle at this location or choose another facility. I had to rely on my passenger to look out for traffic for me. Based on that alone, this truck should not be on the road. The truck was also full of dirt in the driver side footwell, there were empty plastic bottles in the cab, the cargo area had some small items from a previous renter, and the appliance dolly was unsecured. I don’t need a sparkling clean luxury vehicle for a six-hour rental, but it was pretty obvious this truck had not undergone the usual turnaround procedure. I assume it was because the reservation was made the day before the rental, but I would have preferred to know up front that there were no road-worthy options available from this location. I assume they borrow these from other locations, and the loaning facility should not have released this truck to this rental location without repairing it. I might give this location another try in the future, but not if I’m in a rush. I would want to have other options readily available if the equipment is not safe to drive.

The van I rented was filthy, both inside and out and dog hair was all over the seats. I had to take it to the car wash and clean the inside and outside of the vehicle. The right directional was also out, so I had to go to the auto parts store and buy a bulb; then take the tail light assembly apart to change the blown bulb. This took a good two hours to wash and clean the vehicle and change the directional. This location is a liquor store with young adults working the counter. There is only one person managing the store at a time. I will say that the young people were very polite and understanding. They reported that the vehicles they rent just go in and out of the location. There are no service people at this location.

ROLAND SVehicle was dirty, more then 10 year old, issues with transmission shifter, engine was not starting, thanks to my friend who was technician and he found the issue, at least we started the engine. More, we just drove 18miles, but you charged us as 40. As I know it’s not permitted by low to provide for rent vehicles with mechanical issues! I’m thinking to open case against you, providing all necessary evidence with pictures!

They didn’t have the truck we reserved (reservation guarantee what???) made excuses for why they didn’t, shrugged his shoulders and gave me a “too bad so sad” look. Didn’t want to discount me for the box truck they DID have on hand. And when we decided to just go ahead and rent it anyway, we were told every other person in line needed to be helped before us because “this is a liquor store”. Why be a Uhaul dealer if you clearly don’t want to deal with renting out the trucks? It was truly a disgusting experience and made me think less of Uhaul as a company that would allow this location to rent their vehicles.

Felt sorry for the kid waiting on me who doesn't seem to know much about the trucks. Owner on the phone was, I guess, suggesting that I should take a truck which the key only opened on passanger side, then gave me a truck that was impounded and not supposed to leave CA (I found out later). They also didn't switch the truck info in the computer until I called to find out info and Uhaul person realized I had a different truck and had to switch everything including me taking pictures and approving the truck the next day while it was being loaded. I then, with a loaded truck had to find a big parking lot to take pictures. Also they had no furniture pads which the uhaul person on the phone assured me they would (needed 3 dozen) when they changed locations for pick up of a truck. Had to find another location that was still open to get furniture pads before they closed because I had not time in the morning as movers were going to be at my place early. The other location couldn't change something in the computer for the furny pads making it a round trip at a cost of $90 instead of $30 (one way cost). They didn't know that I needed to just call Uhaul scheduling to change it to get the right rate which is weird because the truck was rented as one way so why aren' the furniture pads one way as well? Moving and driving a truck (which I am not used to driving) 900 miles by myself is stressful enough and this is how it started. This made the start of my move incredibly STRESSFUL! And literally gave me a headache.
Kathleen MThe truck was very low on gas when dispatched requiring me to take time to fuel it before starting my move. The moving pads I had reserved were not in the truck requiring me to go to a different U-Haul location to pick those up. The driver side mirror would not stay in adjustment properly, requiring me to duck tape it into place. The drivers door had recently been repaired and the key did not open the driver side door. These shortcomings are obviously U-Haul issues and not with the pick up location itself.

Given to us without contract- agent took picture of front AND back of credit card…we didn’t realize we had no contract until we tried to check it in. It was filthy, of broken glass and plant dirt. Padlock did not work. Zero gas in tank. Told to go straight to gas station. Not able to check it in because no contract? Spoke with 3 different agents, Niche finally figured everything out & solved the problem.
Truman BI put in a reservation for Sun-thursday and when I went to pick up my truck rental it was not there. They told me to come back the next day and it would for sure be there. I returned the next day, on Monday, and they didnt have my reservation but the truck was there. I had to speak to the store owner on the phone, she was not physically there, and she pretty much set me up a whole new reservation from scratch, completely disregarding my already existing reservation. When i finally recieved they keys to my rental truck I checked everything out to make sure it was in good working condition and to note any issues. The drivers rearview mirror was hanging on with duct tape and was swinging around when I drove. I was also given the rental truck with less than 1/4 tank of gas in it. I immediately informed the store owner of these issues and she told me i would receive a discount on my rental. When i returned the truck, It had more gas than when i first picked it up, and you want to charge me $80 for gas. I have texts and photos that show what the gas was when i picked up the truck and the fact that i immediately informed the owner of the store of my situation.

Maxwell cI received a text message that the truck was ready for pickup at 12:30 in N. Hollywood, CA on May 4, 2022. I also called to make sure the truck was there since I was driving from Pasadena, CA. When I got there there was no truck. The person called around trying to find a truck. Someone was willing to delay their pickup at a U-Haul about 30 minutes away. So we decided to go there. The person also said he would give us one more day until May 7 to return it in Bend, OR. When I went to take the truck back today I was charged for an extra day and there was nothing I could do about it. The guy in north Hollywood told me his name was Jack. He misled me and so I was charged an extra day. I also spent extra miles traveling and delay in our loading of the truck because I was mislead by people telling me the truck was ready for pickup and it wasn’t.

Francisco TThe rental wasn't for Tujunga. It was for pasadena. The manager of the pasadena location on Raymond Ave threatened me. The Tujunga location didn't provide the pads I paid for and then was charged for not returning. That will he getting refunded immediately and when I arrived thr entire tread jad come off the tire and the tire was going to blow out at any moment. Retread tires were put on that trailer. Unsafe trailer. Rude employees- overcharging people. The delay cost me two days of moving. I don't forsee using uhaul again the future. Penske will be my next rental when I move to Florida in 6 months. Shame on you people.

ARTIN TFirst problem was that when we got there they didn’t have the reservation information and we had to give our credit card info over the phone. They did not take any drivers license info. When we got the keys to the truck the cab smelled like marijuana and cigarettes. The gas tank had not been filled. And the back of the truck where I had to load my possessions smelled like manure with smears of brown all over the inside.
Jordan WThe uhual manager was asleep when I went to pick up the van so they couldn’t rent it to me at my reserved time. After the store manager called her multiple times, she was able to help. She sent me an online contract that stated it had 2/3 a tank of gas when the tank was almost empty. When I returned it, I was charged for the fuel they said I used, even though I filled it and returned it exactly as it was rented to me. Even though my estimate was $70, I was charged twice, once for $203 and once for $113. I called the store and the manager refunded $98 without explanation of how that sum was reached. I called to get them to adjust the bill and have gotten no response. Do not rent from this location
