The final check process out is ridiculous. The multiple photographs of mileage, gas gauge, drop off location and whether the vehicle is clean is time consuming and unreasonable. I can't imagine Hertz doing the same with a rental vehicle. Other than that U-Haul is always professional and fair priced, thank you.JOHN LESLIE E.

I reserved the van online, and called the location to confirm. Late afternoon the day before the scheduled rental, I was notified by phone that the location would be closed that day and I would need to do a mobile check-in. It proved to be not difficult, but an earlier notification of the change would have been appreciated.David F.

The employee did not tell me that I would need to take a picture of the mileage if dropping off after hours, and I returned the keys to the drop box before I checked my phone and saw that I had to do that to avoid a $20 fee. I even went back to the location to try to get everything done but there was no way to show the mileage. $20 is way too high for a fee, at least tell people to watch out for texts before dropping off after hoursSARAH ELAINE K.

On returning the trailer to the dealer I noticed the tire was missing a 5"by12" section of tread. This is after a 700 mile trip!!!!!!!! A little confusing where to go/what to do when returning the rental trailer.Matt P.
There are a lot of steps before you get there that can be taken care of before you reach the location. The first step was to be at the location, but I had to take photos of my DL and fill out information. Could save some time with the checkout process to maybe put the location confirmation later on in the process! Otherwise, it was awesome to be able to do it all on my phone.Cybele B.

When I came to pick up the truck, the online process required me to give the phone number for an alternate contact, who they then had to call and speak w before letting me take the truck. This was very inconvenient, unexpected, and seems totally unnecessary. They already had a copy of my driver's license so this part of the process should be dropped.Elizabeth S.

UHaul app is not very good. It appears to rely on location services to identify location of customer. I parked near rental truck and the app claimed I wasn't at the proper location. I had to walk a hundred yards to door of business, then had to scan barcode to verify I was actually where the app thought I should be. Provide manual input! Then upon return the app closed before I could complete process. Poor software execution.John D.

Our trailer was already pretty clean but the clerk brought out a broom and swept it again in front of us when I asked about it. He also helped us with the trailer connection to our car which was being stubborn - very nice and polite and efficient.Susan A.

Location was fine. Was not aware I had to be â€œvalidatedâ€ which wasn't done prior to my pick up time so I had to wait for that to happen until after I was supposed to already have the van. Complete waste of 30 min. Overall experience sucked but that's not the location's fault. Van had many dents and dings that were unmarked before I picked it up too.Timothy E.

Overall great experience. One issue: We returned our U-Haul after hours and put in the key into the key-return. But the next day I got a text saying I was late for my U-Haul return.
