So I had the U-Haul pickup at 6 PM as I was supposed to vacate my house yesterday, and the entire day was booked. At 6 PM there was no U-Haul available at the pickup. The one before us came 15 minutes late, and after that we couldn’t check in through the app to collect the U-Haul, which itself was extremely buggy and unreliable. So we contacted customer care, but the representatives had very poor knowledge of the situation and kept transferring us from one department to another, with each wait time being at least 40 minutes. There was no clear communication or accountability from their side. After a lot of back and forth and unnecessary delays caused by both the inefficient support and the poorly functioning app, we finally received the U-Haul at 8 PM, which was 2 hours later than my scheduled pickup. This unprofessional behavior is surprising.

I told them I would return it to Washtenaw Ave. That day I received notice we had to return it to Plymouth Road, Ann Arbor. When we arrived on Washtenaw they wouldn’t take it because they said that site needed it for a customer. I advised them that no one provided me with that courtesy when I needed one in Sault Ste Marie. I had to go get it myself. If at all possible I will never use U-haul again.

FLOYD JThe U-Haul truck had California plates so I don’t blame Carpenter Brothers for the one small defect in the truck, but it would be nice if U-Haul would look for opportunity to maintain the little things. The sun visor could not be put in the clip and it kept falling in my view, so I had to slap it out of the way every few minutes.
FLOYD JMy problem may not necessarily be with the location though; your systems were giving them, and your app me, grief. Namely, pictures wouldn't upload. It was incredibly frustrating and aggravating for all who participated.
