It was convenient to have the option to drop off the Uhaul after hours. This Uhaul truck was nicer than one I rented years ago in Rutland.Natalie B.
Castleton motors saved me from going to a different company all together. The Rutland location double booked the truck I needed and changed my pick up location to Middlebury...45 minutes away from my location. Castleton Motors got me a smaller truck but for the time frame I needed and they were very helpful. I'd give them a good review, but not uhaul in general.Elyssa Eric W.

It was awful! The person at the pick up location knew nothing about what to do or how to open the lock box. Then upon finially getting a code, ALL the keys were in the return box! THEN having to return the vechile and take pictures in the pouring rain before I could confirm the truck was returned. It took way longer than I had time for that day, and ALSO was quoted .79 a mile and then went to rent the truck and it was all of a sudden 1.29 a mile! RIDICULOUS!!! I will think twice before ever renting from uhaul again! I feel I should be at least reimbursed for the difference in the mileage! NOT a happy customer!Roxzand C.

Working with the local uhaul reps (people on the phone and not the castleton workers) were miserable people and rude. Only the regional manager Josh treated me with any respect. You should ashamed of the way I was treated by the woman on the phoneZak H.
App for returns was somewhat cumbersome and difficult to use. Ended up dropping off trailer after hours and calling the facility in the morning. They were very accommodating.James G.

I was charged $4.00 per gallon for 2 gallons od gas. Price gouging when gasoline is $2.30 a gallon. Rediculous!! Also you should let people know that the $19.95 for 24 hours rental will also add $14.00 insurance fee, and other hidden charges. It cost over $54.00 for the rental of your truck for 24 hours. I paid in cash but I got my refund in a check. I think all this should be brought to the renters attention. You get double charges for mileage and gas use. Whats the mileage charge for if not for gas use?Theresa B.

I'm a long-time customer. The rig I rented this time did the job, so I'm happy to pay in full. But, it had issues: front end clunking noises, engine hesitation, the fuel gauge was inaccurate, and using the heater filled the cab with mouse nest smell. Plus, it could have been cleaner. This dealer did not have the size vehicle I needed available so I had to take a larger vehicle, increasing the cost. This was the only vehicle they had. The nearest alternative dealer was too far away. The box was clean, the cabin acceptable, but the windshield was heavily coated with insects and needed to be cleaned.Richard W.
I was told that I was paying for 100 extra miles and if I did not use them I would get the money back. Turns out I did not use the miles. I did not get the money back . The computer system would not work and I had to wait 45 minutes to finally be able to leave with the truck which delayed the whole day. The gentleman working there was frustrated and kept trying to get through to U-Haul to get the computer issues resolved but was on hold and never got to speak to a real person before I left.Deborah H.

Rented an auto transport and the lights did not work, the brakes on the transport did not work and were leaking fluid when I repaired them. The light wire was dragging and chaffed so there was no lights, had to buy my own patch kit. When told it was $54.00 to rent it ended up $139.50. To be honest I was not happy at all with the uhaul in rutland, they did not want to give me the time of day. Rutland uhaul had a trailer that would work and as we were finalizing the papers I was informed someone put a deposit on it as we were finishing up. I was then told there was nothing they could do to help me, wouldn't even look to see if anything was available nearby. Luckily I caved in and called uhaul in castleton (10 min away) and they had what i needed right there on the lot and i was in and out in less than 20 minutes. Extremely professional and very very friendly people to talk/deal with. Looking forward if I need to rent again I will be going right to castleton from here on out and will highly recommend them!Kevin R.

Was directed to drop off the trailer in Florida. During the trip found the trailer in disrepair. Lights and latch do not work properly. Tried to the trailer at designated spot, was redirected to another. Then received a bill for $1500.00 for dropping in wrong spot. Watch out for the bait and switch tactics. I will never use Uhaul again, and more than happy to post on every social media outlet I can. Hello Penske!Zak B.

The 4x8 Trailer we rented had some minor holes in the roof that were patched with duck tape, which leaked a little during our use of the trailer.Guillermo G.

They told me to fill it up when I got back.. I did.. They told me when I left that the tank was full.. I drove it 18 miles.. Then my son out the gas in.. I was I rate to find that the amount was $24.50. @ $2.56 a gallon.. That's 9.57 gallons of gas.. Effectively costing me $1.88 a mile in gas! I am fucking pissed and I wasn't reinbursed.. I also had no cell service in the area to follow the procedures for drop off.. Which created more of a headache.. Having to drive 2 miles to the gas station I just filled up at to login to there WiFi and complete the procedures.. I never got reimbursed for the gas.. They obviously lied about the tank being full.. This is absolute total bullshit!Nicholas F.
