The rental pickup location was changed by the company 2 days before pickup to this location which was farther away than the original. Allotments were made for mileage for the inconvenience. When I picked up the truck, none of the furniture padding was in the truck and the pickup site was closed. I was on hold for 30 minutes before being told that I could pick up the pads myself if I drove to a main distribution site 45 minutes away in the opposite direction. Lots of hassle, lots of time wasted. Even if the lack of vehicle preparation was a mistake, it was poor service to put the resolution as an additional burden on the customer (who is likely attempting to load their truck and get on the road in a timely fashion).Scott S.

Avoid this dealer at all costs. I have rented over a dozen times from various UHaul locations. This is one certainly to avoid. They do not train their employees adequately, are difficult to locate, and they do not adequately maintain their equipment. Like all of my rentals, I do them over the phone with UHaul call center personnel and then at the appointed time, I go to my location give them my credit card and License generally and within 5 minutes, or so, I am on my way. It took me 10 minutes to find the dealer amongst 3+ locations in the strip center its located (no exterior or visible signage from the road or parking lot). I visited 2 other tenants first until locating the dealer at the liquor store. Upon walking in their door, I noticed a small inconspicuous sign saying UHaul that can not be seen unless you are right on top of it. It took the liquor store 40 minutes to complete my transaction after giving her my credit card and license. 20 minutes into trying to complete the transaction, she called the liquor store owner over the phone and it took him 20 minutes more to train her how to complete the transaction. Even then I never physically got anything in writing. She handed me the keys and said you are good to go. I insisted I get something in writing and he boss wound up texting me the agreement. On my return I never got anything in writing either on pickup and dropoff. The liquor store treats this rental practice like a side hustle and not professionally in any way. They overcharged us $25 ($15 on non used mileage charges and they charged us $5 for a dolly we never ordered or received and $5 for furniture pads we never ordered or received). I see now why they don't give you things in print on pickup or dropoff. We are going to dispute these overcharges with UHaul corporate as well as report on the awful experience we had. The owner is not keeping up his end of the dealership agreement in every facet of his practice. The 26' truck was not maintained to UHaul standards. The cab had a headlight switch that had broken loose and was floating in the dash. The drivers door panel was broken and rattled extremely loudly the entire trip. There was no cruise control. The clock was 5.75 hours off. The roof leaked on the left rear corner of the box truck and soaked some items we were carrying in the rain.MARK K.

Jack handle was missing cotter pin, so handle would not stay attached. Trailer was pretty dirty, but being an auto transport, unlikely they ever get cleaned. Last one I rented was worse. Trailer did the job with no major issues. One tire was down to wear bars at pick up.Robert J.

Worst customer service I have ever recieved!! 1.5 hrs on hold just to pick up the truck due to uhaul losing my reservation. Then 45 min on hold when I called to ask why I was charged an extra 70USD. Before my question was answered ur rep HUNG UP ON ME! I WILL NEVER USE UHAUL AGAIN AND WILL B ADVISING EVERYONE I KNOW TO NOT USE UR SERVICES!Robert D.

What is the point of renting a moving truck that does not have a ramp? If I wanted to lift stuff, I could have borrowed a truck from a friend for free. I tried to call customer service yesterday. We had a great experience with Tao in Manhattan. We met with him at the location for pick up. He was reassuring and was able to get equipment where/when we needed it. However the U-Haul website kept redirecting us further away n to a location with as previous comments indicated was difficult to deal with and staff rude. * Go directly to the site in Manhattan. On-line reservations were Not conducive to getting truck/equipment needed. Thank You, Tao! ( hope thats how your name spelled). You are a good person!!druann P.

Couldn't get a pick up where I needed it. Had to drive almost 40mins away for a smaller uhaul. Checked in online and still had to wait almost a half hour to get the uhaul. Got the job done but was pretty disappointed with the service.Lynn V.
