Carmen was very nice and helpful. I would recommend telling customers that a ball hitch is not included with the tow dolly rental so they can get one ahead of time. Also that the tow dolly uses a 4pin electrical connecter, so the customer can purchase an adapter ahead of time if they need one. Other than that it was a great experience. Thank you!

JERRY MIf the business hours were longer it would be a greater benefit to me. In Charlottesville VA, this location is the only U-Haul with a motorcycle trailer, so I either have to take time off from work or rent it for 2 days to take my motorcycle to the shop for service.

Louis KWe rented on a Sunday which means you have to go through an extended ritual to check the vehicle out. Unfortunately, most of the steps were not accepted so you have to repeatedly input the same information. It was time consuming and frustrating. The address was not on our GPS either so the online site needs to specifically say it's next to the Sheetz gas station - the north side. We went around in circles for an hour.

CHARLES M1. I hate the app, I would rather deal with a human. 2. Your app wouldn't take clear photos with my iPhone 15 pro. My camera works fine otherwise, but it took me multiple attempts to clear photos of my drivers license and the truck's dashboard while using the app. 3. The parking spaces at this location are too small.
Randall M1.) Why do I need to re-enter the same info at check-in that I already entered at time of reservation - and answer the same questions re: options? That is a waste of my time. 2.) Why do you need to call someone to confirm my identity at time of checkout - especially when I have a lenghty rental history with you at the same (and other) locations? That is a waste of my time.
MARKTHOMAS CI was unable to pick my drop-off location when I made the reservation. On the day we picked up the trailer the gave us a drop off site 8 miles away from our delivery location. We decided to go to the drop off location which we desired because the were scheduled to be open. The drop oof location was supposed to be open until 1700 however when we arrived at 1600 they were closed. So we called U Haul and they gave us permission to drop off the trailer at our desire drop off location.

GREGGORY GTrucks must have cruise control. I have a hamstring injury that makes it very painful to drive w/o cruise control. The location is only open 3 or 4 hours a day but it was the closest one so I picked it. The counter person was not very helpful.

Front desk customer service lady was mean to us not helping us at first said I don’t know anything about online reserve and third part lady over the phone. I put the key in mailbox keep saying don’t know anything.. After talking for 15 -20 minutes she said charged $523 which is extra $62. More expensive and rude to us. Not a good customer serve lady.

Thomas GI reserved a truck at the Ruckersville location for 9am and showed up with no one there. I waited for almost an hour and no one came in. I finally was able to get ahold of someone in customer service and had the reservation moved to a Charlottesville location, making the round trip a little over 10 miles more. Although they lowered the mileage cost, it was still not enough to cover the difference. The truck was supposed to be 1/4 tank full, but it was much closer to empty and I had to put gas in it right away. It is unbelievable that they would let someone rent a truck that close to empty. So not only did I have my time wasted, but I ended up having to pay more.

Julie VThe tire monitoring light was on when I got the truck. We had to ask her to explain why. She said the company wasn't willing to pay to fix it. If it was already known that a light was on, she should have told us up front and it should have been noted in the contract.
Kelley AThis location has odd hours if you need an actual person. We needed a person as we hauled a trailer for Uhaul in addition to our truck rental and were worried about leaving it without checking it in. Otherwise the location is fine. We had to make a few phone calls, photos and texts to return the trailer which took some time. When we returned the truck 2 days later staff was present (only open a few hours though and the hours weren't posted on their building so we had to call Uhaul again), but they were nice.

Khanh KThe truck had a muffler leak that made the cabin floor extremely hot and CO2 leaked into the cabin affecting drivability. It was only when the air conditioning was placed in re-circ that the situation improved, as per the person who received the truck told us this truck should have never been allowed to use prior to service.
Carlos BWe wanted to pick up or truck at a different location but they didn’t have our truck there. In the future, people need to be noticed ahead of time if their truck is not at their preferred location before we go to there, just to be told to drive somewhere else.

We also did not receive furniture pads that I paid for and the truck broke down 40 minutes into a 5 hour journey. We then spent 5 hours on the side of the road getting the run around from U-Haul’s roadside assistance team. AVOID U-HAUL! They are awful.

Timothy SLet me being by saying that the truck itself was great. Clean and operated just fine. The 24-hour check in was miserable. When I reserved a truck, I received an email saying I would receive pick up instructions via the phone the day before. Those instructions never came. I went to the location for my pickup to find they were closed. After 10 minutes on hold with customer service they sent me a link to a 24-hour pickup instruction video. Okay, great, except the video instructs you to click 'Pick up my Truck' on the dashboard of the uhaul app... a button which still didn't appear anywhere. Finally I searched for pick up my truck in the app and was taken to a section where I could begin the process. Only then did I learn I needed to start the identify verification process, which involved providing 2 contacts to verify my identity, or a photo of my lease or passport (which I am supposed to have while sitting in the parking lot to pick up the truck?). Suffice to say the app and 24-hour pickup process were a pretty big headache.
