Roger RThe truck was overall clean except for the emptied can energy drinks shoved under both seats. However I was told that I could load my truck then come back for the dolly and they would assist me in loading my car. Well when Cheryl doesn’t know how to… that ain’t much help or assistance. Also when I called U-Haul to see where I drop the truck off, I was told that I would be told that when I pick up the truck. When I asked Cheryl about it all she had on her screen was the customer will call for pick up information. Information is not consistent when calling for basic info and making a reservation. Three different answers from 3 different people. Also check the mileage on the truck at pick up to make sure the match.

Kenneth KThis is one of the worst U-Haul places I have rented from. They gave me keys and had no idea which truck the keys were for. I dropped the truck off 2 hours later with less than 10 miles driven and placed the keys in their drop box. Next day I get a call and get asked when I’m bringing the U-Haul back as if they can’t see it’s already back. Then I’m asked where I parked it. Again as if they can’t see. They’re supposed to be looking and checking for this stuff. I get a emailed receipt and saw they charged me double the price and claimed I drove 65 miles when again I drove less than 10. When I called them and told them it was wrong, they told me they were aware and that they had a mix up with the trucks. Good thing I called because I know I wasn’t going to get a refund unless I said something. I will never be renting from them again. Shady business.

I've used UHaul several times over the past few years and not all of them are as friendly. The one on Michigan Ave. in Michigan City is downright rude. I'd definitely go back to the Cheryl Bonin Real Estate and Storage location when I need a UHaul.

Jennifer VSafety chain safety latches were damaged and when I inquired about getting them fixed, the young girl replied what do you want me to do? I explained they are required by DOT and requested she obtain a mechanic to fix them or provide another trailer. She replied she did not have one and she would have to send me to another location. I ended up fixing them myself by taking the rubber pieces off another trailer. Very disappointing

Debra CI needed this trailer to move a garden tractor and the trailer with ramp is a godsend. I also was very impressed with this rental location. They have a nice array of equipment available and the young lady who worked with me was very knowledgeable and friendly.

Greg BShould have been a modest cost use, tipped off the tank and turned it back in. The old guy running it was definitely not customer friendly and didn't seem to know that he was doing, describing a gas gauge he didn't even understand, that I had never heard if. They charged me for extra gas that wasn't required, probably because of his inept interpretation of gas gauge. EVERY rental does the same simple top off EXCEPT HERE. Ended up way more expensive than it should have been. So much for using local Chesterton businesses...

Rachel CThe back of the van was dirty when I received it. The driver area was clean and everything worked as it should. My only major complaint was the wind sound when going above 50 mph. There is something wrong with the weather stripping on the driver door that allowed the wind to penetrate.

Joseph ZI was given the wrong key by the location and when I went in to have it exchange for the correct key, I was treated rudely. I was asked multiple times why I was there and when I explained they put the wrong vehicle key in their lockbox, I received no apology for the delay or inconvenience.
