The manager, Debbie state a little bit late to facilitate my renting the truck. She’s been very helpful., I wish the U-Haul management would take note of the fact of how much gasoline I put in the truck because I spent $27 on gas and only drove about 12 miles then I got an additional bill because my actual mileage was slightly more than she put in as an estimate. The gauge was still passed full when I returned the truck. When I left, it was just passed half full. I was thinking of renting another day in order to utilize the gas that I had bought. I filled it that much because I was anticipating renting for another day, but it started snowing and I wasn’t sure that it would be a good day for moving again. Anyways, after the van was checked back in, it was too late to utilize the gas that I had paid for in excess of what was necessary.

Just one thing they need better locks
Shawn S | Overall ExperienceFor a shared vehicle it was quite clean. The breaks could probably be maintained, they weren't quite as responsive as expected. The padlock had been cut off of the vehicle at some point, fortunately we didn't need that. The return checklist asked about moving blankets (there were none in the bag) and a dolly, there wasn't one. These things aside, it handled well, and I would consider renting again.

The move out of the smaller unit to a larger could have been more stressful but with 24 hr access, feeling secure being there later in the day or earlier and Debbie's friendly helpful manner made it so much more possible. MANUEL CMay seem like a tiny thing, but the window crank for the driver side window was missing the knob, and I had to roll down the window to alert other drivers behind me where I was turning left. The storage facility, which was my intended destination, is set back from the road about a block, and the driveway is not on to other drivers. The lever for the window crank is intact, but the knob is missing and I was just barely able to roll the window down in time as I was using air conditioning. I have had this problem with the wind window, crank being broken on at least two previous Rentals. I tried to mention this in the comments previously, but it would not let me close out the survey with those remarks in the comments so I deleted them. Mennards rents a pick up truck very cheaply, but it starts to cost $24 an hour after the first 75 minutes so it’s not cheaper at all for anything that takes of substantial amount of time. They also require more than $300 of deposits on a credit card. I rented from them twice, but I will stick with U-Haul in the future. My friend pushed the lock button for his passenger door, and I didn’t realize at the time that he was locking all the doors and got locked out of the vehicle, which cost us another hour delay, sitting around, waiting for tow Service to come and let us get in the vehicle as my personal Car keys were also locked in the vehicle at the time I was doing the final picture taking for the U-Haul vehicle. Kiko’s towing took 1/2 hour longer than U-Haul estimated to arrive. I could not change my answer to no on their survey. When I spoke to directly with the driver, he did arrive at the time which he told me that he stated.

Melissa JOne truck needed the lifting door to be lubricated. Sometimes the equipment stored the trucks - dolly and drop cloths get in the way. Apparently some customers want to use them, or have to move them out of their.way. I was moving a big shelving unit and barely cleared the dolly when putting it in the truck. I did not anticipate this obstruction, but fortunately, there was no me to move it.

Jordan SI originally rented this truck from the Kenosha U-haul and two days prior I was called and told I had to get the truck from this place, that they didn't have a truck the size I requested there. I still had to drive to this store to pick up some moving supplies I purchased during my on-line reservation and then drive to Racine for the truck. They had at least thirty trucks at the Kenosha store and when I asked the manager who waited on me for my supplies he stated they are all rented. Very unprofessional and rude. The Racine store where my truck was the lady was very nice but then I had to wait for my truck even though I had checked in on-line prior. Terrible U-Haul!
Roger RThe dolly & blanket package secured in the truck was an obstacle to loading & removing a six foot high & six foot deep shelving unit that I made. It made removing a piece of furniture loaded after the shelving more difficult to manuver too. If I had my choice I would not have those two items in the truck for this particular move. I also wanted to be able to adjust the mirrors but was not able to - they seem to be fixed. I was happy to be able to accomplish this move of donating the shelfing to habitat for humidity as well as moving queen size mattresses and a piece of furniture with the truck. The owner of the facility is always supportive of my needs in terms of renting a truck or a storage space. The truck itself ran well was clean and mechanically sound. Thank you, Stuart Milne

The bitch took my dolly request off my reservation after switching it i had to go all the way to kenosha 2 different uhaul places just to get a dolly. The first place that she told me to go to was closed so i had to go to a different one 15 minutes further. Never will i deal with them again.

Then I found an affordable place in Racine, WI while staying with my best friend from high school on a temporary basis. I used many storage units in the process as well as Pods. Debbie made renting at Chicory Rd storage not only affordable but also like being at a home away from home. She was always friendly along with her other family members and worked to he flexible when I needed to rent trucks. This was my happiest storage unit experience of all. I am grateful for this nice experience. A long time friend is still renting at Chicory Rd. Storage still so I have more work to do in that unit still. It is always a pleasure being there. Thanks

JOHN LHaving to call someone immediately to verify is not a good option for the choices given. People are not able to answer immediately. When a wrong number is entered, you cannot use the persons name any longer. Not everyone has a passport; not everyone renting is actually moving to new place so the lease option should not be an option for verification. They do not go through all this to even rent a car at the airport or anywhere. There was no indication that there would be a service fee of $21.00 for after hours. Had that been the case, I would have waiting until 9:00 a.m. when opened. You advertised the mobile contactless option so that is why I went with that. But would not have for $21.00. And by the time all the ridiculous hassle of the verification, it was already almost 9:00 a.m. An hour wasted for the phone calls. If the rental RATE was $19.99 why is there also an additional rental CHARGE $19.99. This does not make sense whatsoever and you are ripping people off with these undisclosed charges.

She is very professional, efficient & understanding and always very cordial and I have had lots of fun conversations with her (Debbie). A headlight was out this time yet this is really the first time every thing was not in good order. I am very happy with this facility and Debbie has been very helpful with accommodating my truck rental and storage needs.
Stuart MI originally reserved a truck at an alternate location. When I went to pick it up, they did not have the truck due to the previous customer not returning it. When I tried to find another truck, I contacted another location and she gave did not have a truck available but did inform me that since the reservation was guaranteed, Uhaul had to find me something. I contacted Uhaul and spoke to Tiffany and she was amazing. Not only did she find me a truck, she found me a bigger one and gave it to me for the price of the smaller one for the inconvenience. Kudos to Tiffany at the Uhaul location in Milwaukee.

Dorrine CDo not put the dolly on the usual side fod boarding when parked on the right side of the street. It is definitely in the way there. Your threatening tone in when the vehicle is due back by text message is the most unpleasant part of the rental experience. It has been a false due back time at least two times now. Your “convenience fee” is offensive when the truck rent is $30 and your fre is $20. If I did not appreciate your agent name Debbie so much I would stop working with you are altogether after those text messages.
Stuart MI wish the bag & dolly were not in my way of getting in the back of the truck from the side free of traffic. I had an arrangement in place to bring the truck back on Monday. I did not rent the 15 foot truck to bring it back in three hours as your text message demanded. It took about 16 hours of work on my part and two men helped me one for 40 min and the other for an hour. It took me 3 hours to unload by myself and shift furniture to another unit in the same building just 40 feet away. A friend decided to help me with storing his daughter’s things by buying a 10 x 10! Debbie has been a tremendous help and I am very happy to work with her. She knows all the aspects of using storage and keeps the place very clean. She is gracious and upbeat in spite of the challenging times.

brad oYour app is a horrible experience. Info is not saved as you go along and it frequently freezes causing you to repeat all information previously entered. When I could not complete the return using the app I was charged an additional 25 to have someone at the location finish it. I will not be using uhaul again
JO EThey tried to bill for 77 miles when it was 30 by theodometer, only using the online quote from the previous renter of the vehicle. I reserved an appliance dolly online (and spoke to a woman by phone before noon on Friday 10/11/19 to confirm) since I was moving heavy filing cabinets and an old upright freezer) yet they did not have one by 10:00 Monday 10/14/19 when we picked up the truck. We were charged for, but never given the option for Saemove insurance. The total ~ 3.5 hour use cost nearly $20.00 more than it should have. Customer service (interpersonal interaction/ communication & items noted above) was terrible. We will NOT use that agency again!!!

MARGARET F | Overall Experienceafter i was done moving, i went to the gas station to put back the gas i used, the tank said that there was 1/2 full, i used the chart that came with the paper work and it said that i needed to put 4 gallons in, i put 4.1 gallons in (costed $ 8.68)and took the truck back and park it. when i got the updated bill it said that the truck gas tank was on 1/2 and they charged me $16.00 for 4 more gallons of gas, i called and ask how that could be and they would not help me at all and insisted that it says that it was on 1/2 and had a o-well attitude, the truck was old and i was wondering if the gas gauge was faulty or someone was siphoning the gas out(the gas cap does not lock). the woman told me that she will re-check the gas gauge and call me back, she never did. never take the truck back when the place is closed or take pictures with dates and time. somethings not right. so moving 31 miles costed me 24.68 in gas.(they charge $4.00 a gal vs $2.17 a gal, why would i pay $4.00 a gal, when i got it at $2.17??????? please check your truck gas gauge, i think it's broken and does not give the right gas usage and or how much is really left in the tank. the truck is old and worn out.

Alexander RI had originally selected a different location for pickup at 10:30am on Lathrop in Racine. When I went to the location they told me the reservation was changed to a new location.. which was in Milwaukee next to the place where I was moving to. They lady at the original location told me at 10:28am on the day of my pickup they tried to reach out to reschedule.. 2 minutes before pickup. They had transferred the reservation 20+ miles way and an hour later. I had to call uhaul customer service and they found this Chicory location had the truck we needed.

Dawn RI had a reservation for 8am. I was using the mobile app to pick up my truck. Everything went smoothly up until I had to get my key. The instructions told me to enter a code at the lock box on the building. I entered the code and the box opened but there was no key. The shop didn't open for an hour, so I didn't have anyone to help me out. So I had to waste an hour of my reserved time for someone to show up. The person that works there explained that she didn't want to leave the key in the lock box because she was worried that someone would rent the truck late at night and I wouldn't have a truck for my reservation. It's my understanding that the app won't let you rent the truck after it's reserved, so this should have been a non-issue, but she clearly didn't understand that, nor did she understand that she inconvenienced me an hour for her unnecessary concern. But on top of that, instead of giving me the key to the truck right away, she felt she needed to look up my reservation and make me sign paperwork, which ate up an additional 20 minutes. I was doing everything with the app, and did not require any interaction with any employees, I did not need to sign any extra paperwork. While waiting this unnecessary extra time, I noticed a U-HAUL guarantee sign that said "Right equipment, right location, right on time or you get $50." Well, I only got 2 of those 3 promises and do expect you to make good on the $50.

BARB COkay truck was 19.99 insurance was 14.99 i put $100 cash deposit. For 1 day got $22 dollars back put more gas than wad in there when i got it ???? They said i used 38 mile so what a $1.00 a mile huh.

I was not happy that I couldn't initially choose this location online or that I had to select a drop-off location farther from my home because the online form stated it was cheaper if I booked it that way.
