My average rating has absolutely nothing to do with Childress Automotive. U-Haul as a company has lost my business for any future rentals. I own a flooring company, and have had 2 of the worst experiences with a company I can remember back to back 2 days straight. First, it took 3 transaction for a trailer rental at the Hoffman Estates location, and 1 hour of my time to go to Home Depot for the hitch reducer that the rep was not observant enough to notice until after all 3 transactions to rent me a trailer, sell me a hitch, and sell me the straps that I asked for with the trailer. The following day, after 5 SCAMMY advertisements on your website before I could even place my order, Childress Automotive was unable to fulfill the 6x12 trailer order for over an hour due to U-Haul website issue. THEN, I get a bill with an extra $20 in pad-wraps and a lift truck that I used NEITHER OF, nor were they even in the open-top trailer that I rented. Thank you for showing what an excellently run (sarcasm) this is, and pushing me toward smaller rental businesses in the area that actually value customer service. I will tell everyone/anyone I know to stop using U-HAUL in the future. Get your shit together.David C.

we were not told that you pick up location had changed. Were sent to 2 different locations after we went to the original location. There was not communication to us after an email saying our pick up location may change. When we got to the original place, they sent us somewhere else that was wrong. Then we were sent to another location. It wasted 3 hours of our time plus all the traveling we had to do. Thankfully the final location was great. Getting there was terrible.Heather C.

Mr. Childress reconnected with someone to allow me to rent a larger trailer which allowed me to get the job done quickly and the trailer back to him with the rental time frame. The rental experience was horrible. Attempted to pick up a 24/7 rental. For some reason they had trouble with documents requested and submitted. Transferred me to customer service where I sat on hold for 1 1/2 hours. 1 1/2 hours!!! Customer service is a joke. There is none! Had movers hired and paid for through Uhaul waiting at the house while I'm trying to pick up the equipment. If you're going to have 24/7 pickup you must have the personnel available to support it if there is an issue. Would never recommend this service to anyone.DAVID G.

The original pickup location was changed one day before I was to pickup the truck. The drive was an extra 30 miles and I had to go to a second location 15 miles away to pickup the pads as this location did not have any. You need to do a better job in getting the pickup location correct or having the truck delivered to where you said it would beDaniel C.

My only complaint was-what was the point of holding a credit card number so I could pick a truck near my home. I had to go about 50 miles for the truck. Big deal-they gave me a 50 mile credit. But I still had to put 100 miles on my car to pick it up.Michael C K.

Overall experience with UHaul was exceptional. Drove across country AZ to IL, no problems. Vehicle ran well with good gas mileage. Vehicle was very comfortable. Moving is not my favorite thing, but thanx to you it was a lot more pleasant! Two thumbs up!!????????David J W.

Check out process took 1 hour and 15 minutes do to either lack of knowledge on the person doing the check out process or the computer program. Was told by UHaul operator that I would receive a senior discount which would be applied at time of pickup, this was denied by on way support supervisor. Additionally, when I reserved I specifically asked if the box on the truck was 15' long and was told yes, because that is inaccurate, we were not able to get all of our load to fit in the truck which will cause an additional rental and trip later.Fredrick S.

The attendant was GREAT and super helpful, but the computer system was slow and having issues. The truck was filthy on the inside i.e. sticky drinks spilled in and over the console and cup holders. It took a while for me to clean it up before I took the long 5 hour drive. Also, my original location was changed less than 48 hours before I picked up the truck. U-Haul did a great job letting me know that the location changed, but 1) this location opened at 8 am and my original pick up was 7 am and 2) this location was at least 30 mins further from my house. This was a hassle and caused me to fall behind which created a ripple effect throughout the rest of the day.La Chun L.
this has nothing to do with the location. Uhaul corporate is terrible. Told us that we could have a 26' truck to go one way. The day before the independent uhaul contact told me that couldnt happen. Huge inconvenience for me. Messed up all of my arrangements. I will not be recommending uhaul to anyone ever again. Without the local uhaul agents assisting me, I wouldn't have been able to make this work. Uhaul corporate was one of the worst to deal with and will never use them again.ASHLEY K.
