Upon returning the equipment, the man checking it in tried to blame me for previous damage done to the vehicle that I specifically pointed out to the clerk on the day of rental. They did not mark it, they did not verify anything and had incorrect information in the system that they had changed themselves. After arguing that their photos from before the rental would show the damage it was discovered that they were old photos and new ones had not been taken since before another damaged area on the truck that they did say was there before. While uhaul is not a bad company to go through, this particular location leaves something to be desired. Trying to make someone pay on the spot for previous damage is unacceptable.

I made reservations at one location which was a true U-Haul dealer! I was sent an email one hour prior to my pickup date to go to another location and pickup a truck! This dealer did not have a clue as he was a convenience store clerk who could speak English. Took me an hour to get the truck and the only reason I got it is I called customer service who was awful, than got a regional manger who was awesome and got me out in 5 min! First we should pick up the truck where we reserved it which is closer to our house, second a reservation should have all the information needed to drive away except ID verification! Third, nobody should be allowed to rent U-Haul trucks without knowledge of how to do so! U-Haul doesn’t check their vendors or subvenders for quality control! I also was told where to drop the truck off and it was not the closet U-Haul dealer to my new house! The nearest dealer was one mile from my new home and I had to travel ten miles thru traffic to a location off a back street where I was not familiar with the streets or city! I hope U-Haul will respond to theses issues and make moving a more efficient and enjoyable experience! I will not recommend U-Haul to anyone unless I hear back from a U-Haul representative. It took 1.5 hours to check out the item and that was after the advance check in process. Cashier was attending to convenience store customers and I at the same time. Cashier was not familiar with the process, could not give me information on how to safely attach trailer to my vehicle or help attach it. Horrible experience, do not use this location for your rental!

Put gas in your trucks. Over an hour was spent figuring out how to rent at this location. I have rented from U-Haul locations in the past with no problems. This was an awful experience.

Filled out the rental information prior to arriving. Rental agent had to startup his laptop, log in, etc.... Seemed like this shouldn’t take so long, but it was located at a convenience store. He was the only person there so I was shown which trailer was mine and left to inspect and connect everything. I’m perfectly capable of doing this but I would’ve appreciated a little help backing the hitch up since it’s your largest trailer and they don’t maneuver easily by hand.

The employee couldn’t get the car off the dolly, so they called roadside assistance and left when the store closed, leaving my husband to sit in the parking lot until help arrived hours later.

I rented a 26 foot truck, reserving it along with an appliance dolly and furniture blankets 2 weeks prior to the move. My reservation was confirmed immediately. A nice experience up front. I do have several complaints, however. Complaint 1: 3 days prior to the reservation date I received an email stating that, "Due to high demand in the area, we will contact you 1 day(s) before your pick up date to schedule your exact location and time." What is the point of a reservation if it doesn't actually reserve a truck? In the end I was able to get a truck at a less convenient location. I inquired about having the truck that was available moved to the closer location - I think the inconvenience and extra mileage cost should be born by Uhaul, not by me. I got up an hour earlier and drove a bit further. Complaint 2: The pickup location was "Circle A Tobacco and Beer," a serviceable former gas station. The sign out front says "Parade" without a visible indication of the actual business name. This was an unfamiliar neighborhood for me so I wasn't confident I was at the right place. A large Uhaul truck was parked right out front so I figured that was the place but it should be marked appropriately. Complaint 3: The truck was perfectly functional but hadn't been cleaned at all; there was sand in the cab and back. A half-empty water bottle was in the cab and there was a sticky spill on the floor of the cab. Another bottle in the back was filled with a dubious looking liquid and cigarette butts. High ick-factor for this rental. In addition, the gas tank was a bit less full than indicated on the paperwork. Complaint 4: The proprietor was there when I arrived at 7 AM even though the place didn't open until 8 - brownie points for him on that one. He didn't have the appliance dolly or blankets I'd reserved. He was nice about it but I would have preferred to have the equipment. Summary: You've got a decent web interface and the folks I spoke with on the phone were courteous and helpful. The last-minute location change was annoying and inconvenient. The sketchy rental location tolerable but signage matching the vendor name would be appreciated. Not getting all the equipment I requested is not acceptable.

there was only one employee at the Beer and Tobacco city and even though I had made my reservation a week in advance, and I received a text the day before confirming my pick up time, I had to wait in between beer customers to get my paperwork done and then I had no help hooking up. Why provide a pick-up time if you are not going to be ready for me? The trailer was filthy with mud all over it. I was embarrassed to be hooked to it so, I took it to a car wash and washed the mud off. I was very pleased with the price of the trailer and the performance of the trailer. -- I would recommend UHaul, just not the Tobacco and Beer City location.

The Gentleman did not understand the questions I was asking. He could not or would not give me a receipt and I have to have it to prove the UHAUL was paid for. I give this drop off experience a 5 because althought he met the bare minimum to get the job completed, he lacked understand and did not know how to help the customer. He even tried to argue with me when I requested a receipt.

This was an absolute disaster of a place to drop off. The person who gave us our receipt was rude and disrespectful. I wouldn’t have went in this location alone.

The young man was by himself trying to check out customers from the grocery...as well as u-haul customers. I felt bad for him and he was very nice. The truck was dirty inside the drivers area...hairbrush, knife, sticky surfaces...just nasty so we wiped it down for our move. Blankets were in a big pile...once again, he was shorthanded.

Do NOT send them to a sub-standard pick up place where the proprietor does not speak English well and there is a language barrier. Keeps stopping the process to wait on HIS customers in his store, etc. Not to mention, that the lights on the trailer did not work. I will be calling for a FULL REFUND!

The gentleman working this location did not offer any assistance! When I took the paperwork into his location after detaching trailer, he told me that he could not take the trailer because he had no room. This was not true because I had found a space between two other trailers. He refused to accept the trailer, I then called Uhaul customer service and when I began speaking with a rep he changed his mind and took the paperwork. We felt so unsure of this location, that we took several pictures of the trailer clearly showing that I had been dropped off and the location according to street signs shown in the pictures. This location was not clean and appeared to more of a local hangout for people drinking beer! I would recommend removing this location as a Uhaul location.

Computer trouble and you cant get anyone 9nnthe phone when you call 800 u hall neither. You have to be on hold forever. 8ts quite ridicules. And I was scheduled at the wrong location. I rent from you guys a lot but I dont know anymore.

The guy that we pick the truck up from did speak English well and had trouble doing the paper work. He was also 15 min late. The truck power steering work just a few min until the got hot. The steering wheel had excessive play. Was extremely difficult to drive especially towing a boat. Will never use uhaul again.

The location is quite run down. The vendor wanted the truck (more than one request) parked in an extremely tight and unsafe parking location. The vendor also either misread or falsified the fuel balance remaining in the truck. I took a photo of the odometer and fuel remaining in the truck before handing in the keys. His error or falsification wasn't even close to the actual fuel remaining. I'm hoping this isn't a common practice at this location, but I am disputing the charge for fueling. He also didn't look in the back or at any other part of the truck. He was in a big hurry.

This was not our original pick up location, but they had the size truck that we needed. This is a tobacco/ head shop. Drug paraphernalia for sale there. Interrupted at least 5 times by sketchy customers buying stuff from behind counter. One guy got mad and threw his arms up in the air and walked out cussing when I said the clerk would be with him in a minute. Very stinky store. Was supposed to be all set when I got there. Had to type my own info into computer and give my credit card again. Won't use or recommend that location again.

This location was very unprofessional. After having a reservation when I arrived it took over an hour to get my truck and auto transport trailer given to me. The owner there had no idea how to issue equipment. The only reason I got the truck and trailer was because of another driver that did it even work there did it for the owner. The other driver Mike C. Out of mobile was fantastic, he worked with me to get everything squared away. He truck wa sectrmeely old and smelled like someone just finished smoking in it. It was extremely dirty and was just an awful experience from that lacation.

The store has bongs and pipes for sale at the front counter. The man running it kept putting my “check out of vehicle” on hold to take the convenience store customers. Took exceptionally long to check out and to return truck. Store was dirty and dingy. I would not rent from this location again, ever.

The truck had several issues with it. - speeds over 60 truck vibrates badly - battery light kept coming on, voltage gauge showed power loss - had to keep headlights on high beam, couldn’t see anything if on low beam - truck was hard to steer when no moving, and making a loud whining sound, which sounds like power steering pump. I had to rent another one and had expected a reply to my email i sent concerning all the problems the truck had or a discounted rate for my next rental. Unfortunately neither one of those things occurred. I’ll be needing to rent another truck and would appreciate a response to my complaint or some sort of a discount. Thanks, William Smith

This location is a convenience store that sells cigarettes, drinks, beer, and lottery tickets. There was 1 person in front of me when I arrived at 4:45. When it was my turn the owner said I would have to wait and he continued to take other customers for over 30 minutes. I had to let him know I had a time deadline (I was purchasing furniture and the people had to go to work). He finally got my trailer but since he didn't have a lift I had to help him put it on. I am 56 years old and was able to help him -- but think he should have the tools needed to do the job. There is another location 2 miles further and I would have gone there had I known the service would be so bad.

The person working at this location was courteous and helped as best he could. However, this location is also a convenience store and he was the only employee working. This translated into a very slow experience (over 2 hours to rent a trailer). Also on this particular day he was having trouble with the computer, so ended up using his mobile phone to complete the transaction.

I think I was supposed to get 50 miles free but the guy charged my the 50 plus 25 miles over 75 total. I was told this by the uhaul company rep over phone. This guys a third party gas station clerk. This place was a shop that sold Glass Bongs and drug parifelellia. The clock was the only person working when we picked up the truck on the 6/11/17 it took over 1 1/2 hours just to get the truck it was filthy, but we were in need. The clerk had to stop waiting on us numerous times when people would come in to get beer and ciggerettes. I really thought this was bad until on the 12th we went to pick up the wide car dolly that I reserved a month and a half earlier. The clerk had given our wide car dolly to someone else on the 11th instead of the regular one. This left us in a spot and had to be given a wide car transport instead. The clerk didn't have a clue on how to tie down the vehicle on the transport. My grandson and myself were left to chain down the vehicle and the entire car. I would not recommend this location to anyone getting a u-haul. When I reserved to equipment I requested a pick up at the Beal parkway location, but was not given my request. Upon arrival in Dayton the location. Given me to return the truck and transport ended up being closed for 2 weeks for vacation. I am sorry to say this whole moving experience was a nightmare.

I WAS SENT TO ANOTHER LOCATION TO PICK UP MY TRANSPORTER.ATTENDED BY AN UNTRAINED INDIVIDUAL AND HE HAD NEVER LOADED A CAR BEFORE. HE DID NOT KNOW HOW TO SET THE STRAPS ON THE FRONT TWO WHEELS AND NEVER HOOKED UP THE CHAIN UNDER MY MERCEDES. I FINNALY HAD HIM UNHOOK MY CAR FROM THE TRANSPORTER AND I DROVE BACK TO THE ORIGINAL OFFICE WHERE I SCHEDULE THE TRANSPORT ! MONTH IN ADVANCE. I DEMANDED THEY SEND SOMEBODY OVER TO THE OTHER LOCATION AND HOOK UP MY EXPENSIVE CAR PROPERLY.FINALLY THEY CAME OVER ABOUT 3 HOURS TIME HAD ELAPSED AND STILL NOT ON THE ROAD. AFTER THREEHOURS ON THE ROAD ONE OF THE WHEEL STRAPS CAME OFF. ON MY TWO AND A HALF DAY TRIP I HAD TWO STROP SIX TIMES TO HAVE BOTH WHEEL STRAPS PUT ON AS THEY WERE NOT PRORERLY DONE IN THE BEGINNING. WHEN I FINALLY PULLED INTO UHAL IN RUIDOSO ON STRAP WAS OFF AND MY CAR HAD SHIFTED AGAINST THE SIDE WALL ON THE TRANSPOTER. UHAUL INFORMED ME THAT I HAD ONE DANGEROUS TRIP AND ANY THING COULD HAVE ON THE ROAD AND THE FRONT UNDER CARRAIGE WAS NEVER HOOK UP. THIS THE SECOND BAD TRIP FROM THIS UHAUL DEALER IN FOR WALTON BEACH AFTER SCHEDULING LAST YEAR THEY SENT ME 30 MILES AWAY TO PICK MY TRANSPORT.THEY DID A GREAT JOB. I ALL MY COMMENTS I WOULD EXPECT TO HEAR FROM SOMEBODY AT UHAUL ABOUT MY TROULES AT LEAST TO HELP IMPROVE YOUR SERVICE AND THAT IT DOES NOT HAPPEN TO ANYBODY ELSE. PS I'M 85 YEARS YOUNG. Agent had no idea what world he was in and what to do. He couldn't get the laptop and the printer to work. It was a convenience store and more attention given to customer comin in than the ones standing there. Best thing to do here is to close that location quickly!!!

Had to park and unhook hauler by myself and was 5 miles away from home when a u-haul dealer was 6 blocks away from my house.

Be ready for any incoming customers, provide customers with uhaul slip especially if purchasing insurance as i did. I hitched trailer myself and left without paper work. It was humorous!
