Only car detailers were there when I dropped the truck and trailer. Filthy building, lot and I was told to come back to see the owner even though I was there a couple of hours past the posted hours of operation. I never saw or heard from anyone. Ever. Period. I've used U-Haul dozens of times all across the country and have never seen or experienced such a lack of service. Shame on them!MICHAEL G.

This place was deplorable and I would hope and expect that UHaul would discontinue any association with this individual. He was very unpleasant and even exclaimed that UHaul is just his â€œtinker-toyâ€ and uses as a tax write-off. His demeanor and character was vulgar. The truck was empty of gas and filthy.Julius P.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I received a call from Uhaul reservations. I Had a reservation for 1:00 PM pick UP in Gilmer but due to availability I had to pick up at this location instead. Arrived shortly before 1:00PM & was told the only person who could do the paperwork for my trailer rental was at lunch & would be back shortly. An hour & a half later the, what I'm assuming is the owner showed up. He said our reservation wasn't on his log before he went to lunch which is untrue. I was told by customer service our reservation was downloaded to his log that morning while she was speaking to me about the location change so it WAS there. He either didn't check his log before taking off for lunch or just flat out lied. Either way, he was very rude, condescending and dismissive. To top everything off, I had my stepfather go pick up the trailer and instead of charging my Debit card which was on file with the reservation, He made my stepfather pay with his debit card instead of calling me for authorization! I will NEVER pick up from this location again! Oh! And all the trailers were piled on top of each other so he had to bang the thing around to get it "unstuck" from the other trailers. My stepdad informed him we would NOT be paying for the damage he was causing to the equipment! I could go on & on but won't.Thomas B.

Owner scammed me for $20. He claimed it was a handling fee. Uhaul customer service was nice and refunded this for me.Daniel K.
This was a horrible experience an absolute nightmare that lasted for 4 days and countless hours on the phone trying to get it straightened out. The man wasn't there at my reserved pickup time, didn't get truck until 3 hours later, he had a hacking cough that he didn't try to contain, wrong odometer and fuel reading, checked 2 trucks out on my account rather than one, return location was wrong and time, overcharged us for the small dolly and refused to give us the larger one we needed because it was too much hassle (charged $10 for the $7 dolly and he wouldn't give us the $10 one-there was no mistaking the correct price they are written in large numbers on dollies), made husband email his DL even though he was standing right there, he couldn't get our email correct (after multiple times of spelling it for him) to mail us the contractjuli G.

The verification method is kinda Nazi. I own my business and home, so no lease agreement. My employer is also me. You had to wake my nephew up at 8 am on Saturday, when he worked til midnight the night before.Garland Wayne S.

The starting miles shown on the contract did not match with the odometer (+33miles), the fuel gas tank did not match either. Insurance cost options were not disclosure upfront, just charged to the contract...? Some other anomalies received during the check in service.Baldomero V.

They had just closed for the day when I called to return the trailer. They did answer the phone, and instructed me where on their lot to leave the trailer. Worked out well. I appreciated them letting me leave it after hours...and took pictures of it on site for verification, just in case it might have gotten stolen or damaged after drop off.MORRIS W. F.

When I showed up to get the truck they said my reservation was cancelled, in actuality I think it was just moved to Gladewater. In Gladewater, no one was at the store and I had to call then wait then the guy that showed up forgot his key. The company computer did not work so the employee had to use his phone to check out the truck. There was not paper work nor electronic documentation until THREE DAYS LATER someone called to ask if I had returned the truck. At this point I again requested a receipt and finally got something via e-mail. This was a terrible, unpredictable undocumented experience.stephen W.

Self check in express no good went through process to check end web said keys under seat but truck is lock . No dolly in truck but paid for one . Clean AAW was fine. The overall pickup process was so bad I considered never using UHaul again. Kilgore Muffler should be dropped as a UHaul dealer. Rude, unhelpful. Could give a crap. I had an online reservation for Sat morning, but it was not honored. I receive a text Friday at 4pm confirming reservation while traveling from Chicago, evidently informing me at COB the night before my morning pickup my reservation was 'moved' to a town 20 miles away. Seriously?? What good is your reservations then? When I walked in to my reservation location, Kilgore Muffler, he says 'oh well' and not his problem. When I asked if he could see if any trailers were available closer, he responded 'nope, call 1-800-uhaul'. After years of usage, I am not a happy camper.neal H.

My pick up time was at 9. Didn't get to pick up till closer to 10:30. Had a reservation for Marshall Texas had to pick up in Gladewater Texas, 47 miles away. Had to call Uhaul to ask for extra mileage to cover my extra miles. I had to travel 94 miles out of my way to pick up my uhaul and they gave me 80. Had to wait for pick up, which threw my whole move off, not to mention the drive. This was a very disappointing experience for my family. Made our move more difficult. Didn't finish unpacking truck till 8:45 that night. They still got my money with out any difficulties.christy M.

When I hot to location to return truck he said I was over on mileage and it was over $300 an I said he's crazy I had over 500 miles and only came 484 miles an then said I owed gas it was 27 dollars an I said I the truck had more gas then when I left something was wrong. So I wasn't pleased with the uhaul co as a whole. Whe I was reserving truck a rep. From jackson,ms. Called and said I had to pickup trailer 20+ miles away I ask what uhaul was gonna give me for doing their work. A so rudely she said WE AREN'T GIVING YOU NOTHING! EXACT WORDS. so from now on I will not use uhaul. Your company has gone down alot in the pass 3 yrs. So said. No more taking care of customers you Lose.David B.

The man was EXTREMELY unprofessional and unhelpful! I called a head to confirm my pick up. He informed me that he would be leaving at 430. So I made arrangement for someone else to pick up the trailer. My mother and grandmother went at 3:00 where they waited on him for 2 hours to get back from "paying bills." He did not show up til after the time he said he would be leaving, was very unapologetic! Then he did not give an inspection as required by uhaul, proceeded to check out, then informed my mother and grandmother that they were going to have to hook up the trailer themselves, that this store was "mom and pop" and they didn't have to do that! He was TERRIBLE! I will NEVER use this location again and as far as I'm concerned, this man should not be representing uhaul if you want to keep your frequent customers.Whitney M.
