Only car detailers were there when I dropped the truck and trailer. Filthy building, lot and I was told to come back to see the owner even though I was there a couple of hours past the posted hours of operation. I never saw or heard from anyone. Ever. Period. I've used U-Haul dozens of times all across the country and have never seen or experienced such a lack of service. Shame on them!MICHAEL G.

This place was deplorable and I would hope and expect that UHaul would discontinue any association with this individual. He was very unpleasant and even exclaimed that UHaul is just his â€œtinker-toyâ€ and uses as a tax write-off. His demeanor and character was vulgar. The truck was empty of gas and filthy.Julius P.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I received a call from Uhaul reservations. I Had a reservation for 1:00 PM pick UP in Gilmer but due to availability I had to pick up at this location instead. Arrived shortly before 1:00PM & was told the only person who could do the paperwork for my trailer rental was at lunch & would be back shortly. An hour & a half later the, what I'm assuming is the owner showed up. He said our reservation wasn't on his log before he went to lunch which is untrue. I was told by customer service our reservation was downloaded to his log that morning while she was speaking to me about the location change so it WAS there. He either didn't check his log before taking off for lunch or just flat out lied. Either way, he was very rude, condescending and dismissive. To top everything off, I had my stepfather go pick up the trailer and instead of charging my Debit card which was on file with the reservation, He made my stepfather pay with his debit card instead of calling me for authorization! I will NEVER pick up from this location again! Oh! And all the trailers were piled on top of each other so he had to bang the thing around to get it "unstuck" from the other trailers. My stepdad informed him we would NOT be paying for the damage he was causing to the equipment! I could go on & on but won't.Thomas B.

This was a horrible experience an absolute nightmare that lasted for 4 days and countless hours on the phone trying to get it straightened out. The man wasn't there at my reserved pickup time, didn't get truck until 3 hours later, he had a hacking cough that he didn't try to contain, wrong odometer and fuel reading, checked 2 trucks out on my account rather than one, return location was wrong and time, overcharged us for the small dolly and refused to give us the larger one we needed because it was too much hassle (charged $10 for the $7 dolly and he wouldn't give us the $10 one-there was no mistaking the correct price they are written in large numbers on dollies), made husband email his DL even though he was standing right there, he couldn't get our email correct (after multiple times of spelling it for him) to mail us the contractjuli G.

There were no working running lights on the trailer and the door jammed when opening and closing. The owner was not concerned about the running lights and said he was fine with me driving it off the lot as is.Brandon R.
When I showed up to get the truck they said my reservation was cancelled, in actuality I think it was just moved to Gladewater. In Gladewater, no one was at the store and I had to call then wait then the guy that showed up forgot his key. The company computer did not work so the employee had to use his phone to check out the truck. There was not paper work nor electronic documentation until THREE DAYS LATER someone called to ask if I had returned the truck. At this point I again requested a receipt and finally got something via e-mail. This was a terrible, unpredictable undocumented experience.stephen W.
