The employee was rude and just cancelled my rental saying "fine I will cancel it and hung up". When I called the manager he said "well I could hear you and I told the employee good job". I don't know when the customer is allowed to be treated like a piece of crap, but this was so unacceptable on U-Haul's part to hire unprofessional and hostile employee's. What I started to say is "why is every time I go to rent a U-Haul, they never have what I need or where I need it and she hung up on me.

A couple of things. The code for the key sent said 185 but that did not work. While moving the dial around it turned out to be 186. I got lucky. Also, in the midst of taking all the pictures and trying to get my location to appear, I locked the keys in the cab. I told Rob/bob in the store and he said they would call someone Monday. Otherwise all was great and easy.

My experience using the UHaul app was abysmal - after multiple errors and phone calls, it took nearly an hour to get access to the vehicle. I will not use Uhaul again if I can help it. However, the staff at Coastal Hardware was helpful and attentive.

The vehicle was clean. The transmission was bad. When one shifts it into reverse, or park, the engine revs beyond 3000rpm. When I first shifted to reverse it lunged backward even though my foot was on the brake. The only way I could stop it was to shift it into neutral. It tore a 10 foot patch on my lawn. If it had happened in a parking lot I would have crashed into someone. The same thing happened when shifted into park, but at least it didn't move, i Tried reverse carefully a few more times, the same thing happened, so I didn't use it again, which was inconvenient.

The truck was clean, but one tire was extremely low in air when the truck was loaded. Luckily there was a gas station close by, but it was a little stressful to drive there not knowing if the tire would hold up. I reported it upon return of the truck.

Well, the drivers side mirror on that truck is loose - moves around while the truck is in motion, and really bad on uneven pavement. It's kinda unsafe.

Provide a tongue jack. I am amazed that you do not have employee injuries lifting that heavy weight in a compromised position. There are situations where it necessary to disconnect from the trailer. Using a car jack or some other arrangement is more dangerous than a dedicated trailer jack. Otherwise, trailer construction is excellent.

Not your fault, but the gasoline return policy is extremely unfair. I try to avoid using uhaul whenever possible because of this policy. The tank should be full when picking it up and when returning it. The current policy is a complete and conscious rip-off of customers. It either sets the customer up for a penalty (under filling) or needles extra expense (over-filling). The customer does not get compensated for overfilling. Very exploitive business model.
