ALAN CThey called me the night before and asked if I could bring back unit a day earlier before it was actually due. I rushed to get empty and brought back to location but forgot to top up. They were to busy to check me out when I dropped off the unit, so they called to say gas was low, I indicated it shouldn’t have been that much as I took a picture when I picked it up (was just over a 1/4 of tank). I asked if I was getting a refund for bringing it back early as I helped them out and he said no, and said I would be charged extra for the gas. I was charged an extra $75 for gas and $30 admin fee. There was no way I was short $75 for less that a quarter tank in gas. I told the guy if you aren’t going to be reasonable then don’t book me out until next day as per my contract and I’ll come add the little bit of gas. He said it’s too late as he had it re-rented and said on one way trips if you bring back early no refund. Needless to say I’m not impressed as I got screwed both ways

Linda RPlug in connector for the trailer was inadequate. It broke within the first 100km. Trailer hook up was inadequate. Attendant tried to wrap the trailer chains around the bow of the hitch. Which is unsafe and unprofessional. If I was someone whom was unaware this could have caused a major issue. I am paying for an expensive service and I am expected to look after the company’s equipment. So cleaning of the equipment would be highly appreciate. Drywall dust/particles and other stick and stones is just unacceptable.

Vibin VFor those of us who chose not to use a major credit card, I was surprised when I got to the terminal and there was no reservation for me. I called head office in PG and was informed that a major credit card was not sufficient. Thank goodness my sister was able to help with that. However, I truly appreciated the Uhaul service. Then, the ferry was delayed due to weather, and the terminal was understanding. We caught the first available ferry and returned the vehicle clean and gas topped up. Thank you!
Florence LThe vehicle I reserved was not ready on the date reserved. I had to make several calls to the head office and finally was able to pick up the truck 3 days later.
PHYLLIS BThere was a gas leak in the middle of my move. This location was no help at all. Then while I was moving and loading, they tried to take the uhaul without offering another one in return. Then because I was busy the tow truck left. It was horrible and cost me an extra $1500
TRACY DMy rental was not available and the location did not honour the rental guarantee. They put the contract into the drivers name not mine and then would not talk to me on the phone. They charged me in miles instead of kilometres. Total hassle.

Cillian CThe staff at Coastal propane/u Haul have consistently been customer oriented throughout the years. What I’m not happy with is the mandatory insurance required to rent a trailer. Throughout the years I have purchase extended insurance in order to ensure that any accidents involving a rented trailer would be completely covered. So I’ve always been able to decline the abhorrent price of insurance that UHaul offers. No longer so it seems. From a long term customer of UHaul that you’ll see your company at least once a year, I strongly recommend you change this policy. It reeks of a total cash grab.

Laurie MFirst, I have to say that the employees were polite and helpful at this location but what happened with our rental was unacceptable in my opinion. We rented a dolly and furniture pads. When we picked up the truck, the staff said that these were already in the back of the truck. We had no walk through of the vehicle, which I found strange. When I got the truck home, these items were not in the truck. So, I called the location and they said to come back and get them. Then, I got home again and got in the back of the truck only to find that it STANK so bad, I could hardly stand in there. It smelled like rotten food and there were stains all around the truck like somebody was hauling leaking garbage. I called the location again and they said to brink the truck in and they would clean it out. So, I did this. They did a quick clean but the next morning when we opened up the truck to pack it, it still stunk to high heaven. It was the only truck available in this town so we had no other choice but to pack it. We were certainly worried that our belongings would smell like this truck. So, we had to go back to the Uhaul location several times to complete the rental. It is a good thing that we rented the truck for the day before we were supposed to move or we would not have been on time. Also, the truck was in rough condition. All banged up and very dirty in the cab. It had definitely been smoked in. As a female who had to drive this truck over 2000 kms, I was worried that it would not make the trip. I felt dirty after each days drive. I was not impressed!

Susan BI start, i would like to say how i had originally ordered my uhaul from kermodei storage in Terrace, the man there gave away my reservation (i had booked weeks in advance) and told me to call uhaul and find a different place to rent from. So I had to then go to Hazelton, where they had 1 truck in the size i needed. The man there told me I would have to call that night (night before reservation) to ensure the truck was back. He never answered the phone calls and i ended up calling uhaul as i was set to pick up my truck at 8am the next morning. Uhaul informed me the truck was never returned and to pick up in prince rupert. Thankfully they had multiple trucks in the size i needed.. as for the prince rupert location, the gentleman who helped us was very kind. He didn't check any fluids on the truck, didn't have any indication of when the oils were last changed/checked. In my online order I requested a dolly and an dozen furniture pads, none of which were given to me. I drove the truck 1600kms, and it was very rough. The truck constantly shook and vibrated and it was impossible to drive it in the automatic setting.

patricia mTruck was not available when I arrived to pick it up. I had several people arriving to help me load the truck. After complaining to the agent, and then to corporate, we got a truck 2 hours later.

michael sactual dropoff was 1 day sooner than planned but I was still charged for 4 extra days (should have been 3) no big deal.
