WHAT A GREAT EXPERIENCE TO HAVE A MEMEBER OF STAFF THAT KNEW EXACTLY WHAT HE WAS DOING IN REGARDS TO THE SERVICE THAT WAS BEING OFFERRED. NO BEATING ABOUT, NO HAVING TO LOOK UP OR SEEK ANSWERS FROM ANOTHER AND EVERYTHING THAT WAS STATED DID IN FACT TURN OUT TO BE 100% ACCURATE. No complaints about this particular location but an overall experience with U-Haul was horrible due to my initial booking with U-Haul Dealer, located at 1 Buchanan St, Cobourg, ON. I booked a 10' Truck with U Haul 1 month ahead before moving but they cancelled my reservation without telling me. I found out it accidentally 7 hours prior to getting U-Haul. The reservation office offered me a bigger truck but because I don't have any experience driving 15 truck I had to accept a van that needed to be returned back to the same location costing me extra 140 kms and and pay another $70 for a train ticket. I'll will never use U-haul again.Igor T.

We had booked the certain size truck and when we got there at 9am it was not there when we had people all set up to help us. The man said it was supposed to be dropped off at 8am so he called the people and said they are late about 1/2 hour so we had to wait and then wait for them to check it in before getting us checked out. There should be fines if they are late returning!!!!! The pick up location (Goodyear in cobourg) employees where very nice and professional.Barbara M.

The only thing I would suggest is to put a UHaul sign outside - as there are none - just the Goodyear sign - and being they park the vehicles in another lot - and old location was quite a few units away - it's a bit confusing looking for itJayne D.

I found the staff to be very uncommunicative and sullen. No greeting, no explanation as to what was happening regarding the check-out process. I was left wondering what was going on. The previous renter left oil in the bottom of the trailer. I do not blame the location as I picked up the trailer just as it was being logged back in. Time was important so I ignored the oil. BUT it made footing slippery and potentially dangerous and soiled my tarp - annoying.Scott W.

This location was great. My only criticism relates to U-Haul's digital platform. It's a great system in most ways (allowing, in theory, for pick and drop off as well as verification of condition and other things via photos) BUT the instructions for the process were terrible. And the staff at the location don't know how it works. I had no idea when I arrived how or from where I was supposed to get the code to access the keys and do the check in procedure. I kept waiting for an email that never came. When I finally figured out that I needed to log into my account two things happened .. the system wanted an American postal code. Also: it says â€œnext stepsâ€ in small font at the bottom of the page and I did not take â€œnext stepsâ€ to mean â€œcheck in and register your pick up hereâ€. I was very lucky that the staff at the location happened to be there. They checked me in, got the code and retrieved the keys. Please fix your digital platform to be easier to use and follow. When I returned the van I didn't access the digital system until i was already home and so I couldn't do the proper drop off processing.I worried all day Sunday that I would be charged extra days I was very happy to see Monday that I wasn't so thank you. I see the potential in this system; it just needs some improvements.Daphne B.

Just two comments. I wanted to use debit not credit, but the option was not available to me - i.e. I could not hold the reservation on credit, but pay with debit. Second, I would have liked to rent this vehicle closer to home - Port Hope - but the equipment was not available here. Otherwise, a good experience, and was glad I could rent the truck on short notice. Staff were good/helpful.Janet E.

Tires on trailer were past wear bars on the one side with cracks visible. Pretty sketchy. Had fingers crossed it wasn't gonna blow out on me. Otherwise trailer was clean and excellent service..danny D.

The support received from Ryan was top notch, thank you! Something to improve, but this is not aobut the location but uhaul in general. The website showed availability of the equipment in several locations close to each other. However, after reserving equipment and getting a confirmation, I got a call from "head office" indicating there was not equipment available at either location. You could use a better inventory/update on your system, as I did this 3 times with the same outcome every time, so I could not rent all the equipment I needed, just the one Ryan helped me out with.FERNANDO L.

When I made my reservation I chose your 24/7 option. However, when I arrived at the location early in the morning to check in, the reservation could not be executed and the message I got was to wait another two hours until the location opened. Luckily, a worker was there early and let me in. Once in your system he told me that UHaul had not set up this reservation for 24/7 even though that is what was confirmed on my reservation. Thank goodness for this worker and his initiative. Upon arrival at the end of the reservation, I could not make the return function of the web site work. You must update the user interface on this 24/7 as my entire experience with it was horrible.Scott C.

I would prefer it if the gas tank was full at the start of the rental. It makes it much easier to fill it up on return. I found the gas gauge in this rental truck to be very sluggish, so I ended up putting much more gas in the truck than needed, just to get the needle to move. If the gas tank is full, it makes it that much easier to return it at its proper level: full.George P.

The reason I say the equipment wasn't clean as there was 2 fr of snow in the back which I had to remove before I could actually use the trailer somewhat disappointed with that and having to pay full price after I cleaned out the snow!Lynn B.

All my past dealings with Uhaul have always been good. This time things just happened but you did, with some negotiation, take care of us. The truck was fine though it was not what we originally asked for. Thank You as you accommodated us by giving us a bigger truck for the price of the next smaller one. We also ordered an appliance dolly and confirmed it with the gentleman that called. Unfortunately there wasn't one at our location and the closest was an hour away. We were moving 3 fridges! Among other things. Long and short, you offered a discount and I had to rent a heavy duty dolly. Hopefully the discount appears on my credit card.Wendy A.
I was overcharged $200. I was quoted for $100 and charged at rental location for $330. Called uHaul that day and they assured me they will sort it out before my credit card is billed. Sure enough I was billed for $330.LIAM C.
