Had 1 ton unit reserved and wasnt available when we picked one up. Had to upgrade to the largest unit which is 26'. The clerk at the depot was pleasant to deal with, however the guy on the phone sounded like he needs communication skills. Overall, a good company

Roger BThis is difficult because my experience with U-Haul was terrible, but the local representative was very helpful. I have an open customer complaint. The onsite attendant was very helpful. What wasn't helpful was needing to reschedule my truck, driving 6 hours through the night to get it. Not being able to pick up due to a failure in the online ride sharing app and incorrect information being provided to me for the unit. My contract indicated I had 40 moving blankets, there were ZERO moving blankets in the unit. The resulting issues robbed me of time with my family, sleep, compressed my packing time before a 2100km journey and gave me inaccurate information. I remain HIGHLY frustrated with U-Haul. The on-phone help members were not useful. One hung up on me. The only compensation that was offered was a free day on the other end of my trip which gave me ABSOLUTELY NOTHING OF VALUE. It is my intent to pursue this issue with U-Haul. The absence of blankets, combined with the loss of time limited my options for packing my furniture. 7 pieces were badly damaged during my travel. Top that off with my need to pick the trailer up in High Prairie versus the onsite location where I was, meant additional losses in time. So, yes I would recommend the Slave lake because I want to support the business in my town. For the Slave Lake depot at Cold Shot, I would give them a 4/5. But after my over all experience, I would recommend people not use U-Haul.

rupinder bThe owner wasn’t there at the pick up time. Wouldn’t answer calls or texts from myself to others also waiting for pick ups. I even contacted them on the Friday to confirm that they are open the Monday. Cause it’s a holiday. She was too busy to listen to my concern and said yes. Then wasn’t there. I was late getting the trailer. Then late getting to meet up with the landlord we had to meet and had to wait. This put us behind and didn’t get to drop off on time then got charged more then a second day I’m thinking a 3 day charge. Not impressed.

Jon VCharged a cleaning fee when Edmonton location assured us we would not be responsible since they had no clean trailers at pick up. Edmonton staff even took photos for proof. Slave Lake staff is hardly there, and never answers the phone.

mohammed aI used the address that uhaul provided me. It dropped a pin in the middle of the highway not even close to the actual spot. I was dropping off the vehicle at night time and couldn’t find a sign or any indicator for finding the place. I ended up having to keep the uhaul another day because I couldn’t find the drop off location. Costed additional $40! I even called uhaul and asked for better directions and I was told “that should be the address I don’t know what else to say” horrible experience. Uhaul should leave a note saying that the spot is behind the truck stop and provide a better pin drop. The only way I found the place was by asking people at my work if they ever seen a uhaul spot. Horrible Experience all around.
