You should tell customers there is no parking for our cars when renting a vehicle. Making a u-turn in busy traffic, driving 1/4 mile to a shopping center to park my car and walk back to the U-hall wasted time needed to move my stuff. I've used U-Haul four times in the last two months. Went to this Frederik road location because the closer location doesn't have parking. But this location is just a gas station and is not really a full service location. They didn't have the dolly I ordered. The truck bed was dirty and had a bunch of unfolded blankets in the back. Worse, I got the truck with about an 1/8 of a tank. Not a good location. Not a good look for U-Haul. Guy that helped me was good, though.Nicholas C.

Location has on site parking and were unhelpful. They would not let me park nor could guide on where one could park our vehicle. Van had electrical light issue. Cabin light kept coming on and off. It made driving in dark very challenging.Ripujeet M.
I reserved a a van online for 24 hours and received a confirmation very quickly once a place holding the desired van was identified. When I arrived to pick up the van, I was suddenly told that there is a problem with my rental and that the vehicle is no lokger available for the 24 hour.period I had booked it for and received a confirmation about. The manager/owner was called and he confirmed that if I wanted a vehicle, I'd have to agree to return it by noon nthe next day, instead of 7pm. I reluctantly had to agree as our plans to pickup bulky Items could not be changed. The next day, when returned the vehicle, taking precautions to put a tad more gasoline in the tank than when I took the van, I was shocked when the manager/owner decided arbitrarily that the tank was 3/4 full rather than almost the 7/8th required. I disagreed strongly, and both of us took pictures of the bank gasoline gauge, which I want to send you for reference. In the end, I'm really not worried about the few additional Dollars charged, it's really the entire experience and this feeling of dealing with borderline dishonest people that really makes me mad. I honestly think this location is running a scam by adding insurance to reservations that wasn't requested by the customer. I reserved a van for mobile check in and I purposefully did not reserve the insurance. I got to the location and went inside to confirm I could use the mobile checkin. The person at the garage told me he would handle it and log me in and give me the key. However, he revised my reservation and added the insurance without asking me or getting my approval. He then gave me the key. The van was very dirty with debris from the prior rental. It hadn't even been broom swept. When I returned the van, I was told that I had elected to purchase insurance, which I had not. The person handling the return told me there was nothing he could do about it and insurance was automatically added when they checked me in, even though I hadn't requested or approved it. After much frustrating discussion he finally removed the insurance charge. It is concerning that this location changed by reservation to increase the cost without notifying me or getting my permission.Keith R.

The van was not clean when we picked it up, with crumbs on the seats and console, old mask and hair in pockets, nut shells and crumbs in cupholder, used water bottle on floor. I brought the van back 11 hes before it was due, thinking it would save me money. The location host was not pleasant, said they were not responsible for the dirt and only gave me the service number to call if not satisfied that i paid in full despite my early return.Sharon K.

This location does not have any street parking or area that you can park your car when picking up the rental vehicle. The process for online check-in is totally ridiculous and tedious to say the least. NEVER again.Robert S.
Truck made a whining sound the whole time that I drove it and sounded like it could die at any moment. The location where I picked it up did not allow me to park my car there which was inconvenient. They refused to let me park my car at this location. i had to dive to another place and take a uber to come to pick this van up. the van was clean over all, but van smelled strong odor of a dog, who ever used it before, transport dogs in the van., i will not use this location next time and will go to uhual run location where is couple miles from this place. when i dropped off, again had to call uber to come pick me up and take me to my car.Mehdi T.

While the equipment was clean, it didn't run very smoothly. I was worried something would break down. I also find Uhaul's in line check in/check out process frustrating. I checked the truck in, with all the pictures, but the clerk still had to come out and check it himself. That seems like a waste of time. At least it went quickly at this location. I had tried to rent a truck at another location the day before and it was a zoo. On top of that, the online system was very slow. I ended up cancelling the reservation because it was taking so long and I could not get any assistance.Jennifer F.

Attendant was very cordial but was victim of Uhaul poor technology as I was. The location did not have the additional items I reserved (blankets and a furniture dolly. I was not able to check out the van with my app because the app did not allow me to sign in even thought I was 100% certain I have the correct ID and password. The attendant had trouble completing the operation in the Uhaul website. Both of these problem delay my plan by a long time as I had to find blankets and a furniture dolly somewhere else. And when I got the final invoice, Uhaul charge me for insurance I clearly declined. Nobody has responded to my claim.Enrique S.

Terrible service rate it a zero. The Exxon Owner has no knowledge in Uhaul Rental process. I try to be positive when writing reviews but there was nothing positive about my experience at this location. Was there for almost hour to pick the rental it was Dirty with trash inside. Due the experience I had I did bother in asking for a different rental. Over charged for services I didn't ask for. The owner of Exxon kept calling Uhaul customer service asking for directions in how to give me the rental. Like yes I understand we all mess up here and there but this was on a another level a messing up. Told oh will when you return we refund you what we over charge, not. Now got go back and get my refund. Like I was in customer service but this is pretty bad.Maria F.
It is not about the location. The staff there was courteous and tried to be helpful. Unfortunately, U-Haul's software is buggy and their policies are not customer friendly. I have several issues and observations: 1 - I reserved the truck online and answered all the questions. When I was at the dealer, I was asked to provide an emergency contact, that the software would not let him continue without one. I have rented U-Hauls many times and have rented vehicles elsewhere, and have never been required to provide an emergency contact. I complied and was told that I also needed to supply a second emergency contact. I do not like providing information that is not pertinent to the task at hand, but it appeared as if I would be refused a rental if I did not supply it. I am very disappointed, but don't know if it was the dealer's fault or U-Haul 2 - I expected to rent from a U-Haul owned location, but it was not apparent to me that this was a Dealer location. I would have avoided it if that were the case. The website should have been more clear. 3 - The truck was dirty. In the online check-out app, I said so and was asked to take a picture. Both inside and outside was dirty, so I took a picture of the inside, then tried to take a picture of the outside, but the software would not let me. It said only one picture was allowed, and would not let me remove it. 3 - When I was at the location, I did not think to check the cargo space and the attendant, who was not trained, did not do so either, so when I arrived at my pickup location I found that the previous renter had opened the bag of furniture pads and left them all around the cargo area. I was not happy because I was afraid I might be charged for them when I had not ordered them. 4 - I returned the truck on time, but no U-Haul trained personnel were on hand again, so no one noted the mileage, fuel, or vehicle condition. I was not comfortable with that, but the dealer assured me he would log everything in the morning. 5 - The next morning, I received a call from vehicle recovery saying that the vehicle had not been returned. When I talked to customer service, they said that dealers often do not log vehicles in until the U-Haul trained staff are present, which could be the next day. At the point I talked to vehicle recovery, this had already been done, but apparently they were not aware. 6 - Why would U-Haul have a dealer location without requiring that it always be manned by U-Haul trained personnel. This was the worst rental experience of my life.James S.

I came to pick up my cargo van before my scheduled time and was able to do so. I appreciate that. There were some supplies that I thought might come with the van, such as protective blankets, but they did not put that turned out not to be a big deal at all. IMPROVE CUSTOMER SERVICE. THE ODOMETER READ SOMETHING ELSE OTHER THAN WHAT WAS ON CONTRACT. I NOTICED THIS AND INFORMED THE REP, WHO IN TURN RECONFIRMED AND CROSSED OUT THE ORIGINAL ENTRY IN LONG HAND, I IN TURN TOLD HIM TO PLEASE SIGN WHERE HE MADE THE ALTERATION SO IT WOULD NOT LOOK FORGED. ON RETURNING THE CAR, I ASKED FOR A RECEIPT, HE SAID HE COULD NOT PROVIDE ONE AND ONLY HIS BOSS COULD DO SAME AS THERE WAS AN ALTERATION (I MET THE SAME PERSON WHEN I PICKED UP THE CAR). ON SEEING THE RECEIPTS MUCH LATER, I NOTICED I WAS CHARGED FOR 54 MILES RATHER THAN 47 MILES THAT I DROVE. THIS IS NOTHING BUT FRAUDULENT. KINDLY INVESTIGATE AND REVERT WITH AN EXPLANATION. I had the worst experience at this location. First I picked up the rental and on my contract said 540 miles out but when I got inside the rental it showed 578 miles over charging me almost & 38.00 if I would had not notice upon returning the rental. I immediately told him and all he did was initial the discrepancy with out apologizing. Second I notice that they manually added CDW an extra charge of $10. I brought this second issue to the owners attention and I explained to him that my personal insurance has an endorsement to cover rental vehicles already that's why I know for sure that I wasn't the one who selected CDW he said that it wasn't him. Mysteriously it just appear there on the contract. (BEWARE TO ALL CUSTOMER TO DOUBLE CHECK YOUR CONTRACT FOR ADDED CHARGES). Then I had to cancel my 1st contract because too many mistakes. I then scheduled online a new rental to be on the safe side. Upon returning the vehicle Zifer Reyal didn't want to give me my receipt saying computers were down. I insisted due to the lack of trust already at this location from what happened earlier. And he said computer don't work as he went over to the computer I help him figure out the keys and then he was able to print out my receipt. Apparently he didn't know too much about computer so he lied to a customer. Never will go here or Recommended ANYBODY TO GO HERE EVERElvyn T.

this place is terrible gave me a hard time getting a truck all the way to billing me wrong. it was a waste of my time, i spend more time waiting for them to figure out how to get me a truck than actually me using it. i only used it for 4 hours and i was charged for 4 days. this place is not capable of taking care of this kind of business.DAVID S.

I ordered a truck with furniture pads. This location didn't have any furniture pads, and was unable to tell me where to get the pads. Uhaul website should direct customers who need moving equipment to a full service uhaul center, not a gas station.Monika K.

The attendant was impatient and rude, NOT helpful at all. I spent quite awhile on the phone with Custoker Service - on hole and being switched from agent to agent. Initially they wanted me to drive to another location - which would have added more mileage. I was told to pit the agent on the phone and he was NOT happy about having to accept the truck and it showed. It was such an extremely unpleasant and stressful situation that I believe I should be given a full or partial refund for time and aggravation because your system is so messed up! Trust me when I say that I'm spreading the word, DO NOT use U-Haul!!!!Estherlin M.
The person at drop off refused to take the truck and did not offer an alernative. Even after showing them the paperwork showing we were supposed to drop off there they still refused and threatened to call the police. They put the keys back on our dashboard when we tried to tell them we had already checked out online and could no longer drive the vehicle. It's very misleading. I was checking out on the website on my phone and the employee in that location said no it's okay I will take over from here. Online the price was 25.95 and when he took over and asked for the card he charged us 44.54. I said before you process it I had it cheaper online. He said don't worry this is with coverage and taxes. When you return the van I will charge you the right amount. When I came back with dad he charged us the full price that's 44.54 and again as I mentioned online was 25.95. He didn't accept giving us that price. This is not acceptable for the respectable uhaul company. Very misleading.Celesty M.
