I would recommend another location that has more equipment available. When I contacted U-Haul to extend my rental by 24 hours I was told this location did not have an additional truck, and had to have my truck back at the time specified. Having more equipment on hand would have alleviated this issue. There were plenty of smaller trucks available. Not being able to extend the rental caused difficulties.Brian P.

Rebecca was awesome! She was so helpful and friendly. I actually rented from Port Jervis but read the horror story reviews and determined it was worth the extra few miles to rent from Matamoras location and so glad I did! Even on her sprained ankle, Rebecca walked me through the process and was helpful when I had a question over the phone. She was friendly and courteous - it was a very stressful day of moving for me, and she made the rental process pleasant and stress-free. I am very grateful! Great job, Rebecca! This comment is not for the location but for corporate concerning the plastic fenders on the tow dolly. My dolly had many areas that had X sticker's but one area was cracked and the crack began to get bigger as the wind passed through it. I ended up using some tape to prevent it from getting worse. Please consider replacing the fenders more regularly.Edward A.

They where excellent ! Interesting how you don't ask about the actual U haul employees you talk to when you call U haul. From customer service to their supervisors you must train people to be this rude and uncaring because that kind of talent is not native nor does it occur naturally. U haul is one of the most pathetic and unprofessional companies I've ever encountered... do you really read these and follow up on these issues ? I seriously doubt it because it takes a long time for a customer service business to fall to this level of disfunctionJohn T.

The gas guage is incorrect and caused me to lose over 15 dollars on gasoline. The guage was on Full when I rented the truck but the tank was not full. I filled it up prior to returning it, after driving only 36 miles. It took over 6 gallons of gas!! The resulting gas guage was above F. The truck was very clean but I question the maintenance. In addition to the incorrect gas guage, a dashboard light in the shape of a trailer came on.thomas S.

The problems I had with U-Haul was at the corporate level, not the local vendors. I was told by a U-Haul rep that I could pickup my equipment at a location less than one mile from my house. 48 hours before pickup, U-Haul corporate called and informed me that I must pickup over 50 miles away in another state and a toll run of over $30. There was no offer to make any compensation or consideration for the unexpected change of venue that would have cost me over $50 in gas and tolls and at least three hours of my time. My only choice was just do it or cancel. This is unreasonable and extremely poor customer service.Randall E.

Uhaul needs to get some IT help for their computer systems. We waited an hour to get our rental because there was an issue in your computer system flagging my husband as someone who had a significant outstanding balance. Apparently my husband has the same drivers license # as a person in Texas with a different name that owed uhaul money. This had nothing to do with us and set us back an hour today. the associate at this location was great in trying to figure out how to help and she did but we were an hour late arriving at our destination. Being flagged because my husband has the same drivers license # as a person from a different state that has an outstanding balance is completely unacceptable . Change your computer system to differentiate state license numbers. I can't say that I'll use uhaul again if this is a problem we will have to deal with again.Danielle A.

The way the unit next to me was parked (on my line) made it very difficult to back in as well as pieces of it falling off all over. I did mention this to an associate who said they would call the owner to move it over. It was never moved. Otherwise I was satisfied with storing my RV there. Close. We had to go to Middletown (25 miles each way) to pick up the trailer to attach to the U-Haul truck. We ordered this in August and they didn't have one in Matamoras. Since we pay for mileage over a certain amount, I thought they should have SUBTRACTED the mileage it took to get to Middletown (50 miles total) from our bill but the girl on the phone at the place we dropped off the U-Haul in Eutawville, SC said she couldn't do that. It is not OUR fault that they didn't have the trailer in Matamoras, PA. We set this up TWO MONTHS AGO!Alfred C.

We had to drive an hour from our requested location to pick up the truck. The direction was opposite our origin, so it added 2 hours to a long day. The truck was available the previous day. If it had been shuttle to our requested location, it would have made our experience much nicer.David S.

The location and the people working at this location were wonderful. However my over all experience with UHAUL was very disappointing. I reserved a 26 foot rental truck a couple of weeks before my move. The day before I received a text and email saying my location pick up was updated and sent me to another location to pick up the truck. Once we arrived at the location the guy working thee said that truck was for someone else. He called uhaul and spoke with ROSE. She found a 10 foot truck and offered me that one. 26 foot truck to a ten foot truck. That is a huge difference and will require multiple trips that one way is an hour a part. Rose said that she would give me a lot of extra miles. So I went to the next location to get the truck and the guy there was so wonderful. I told him about the miles and asked him to confirm with rose about the mileage. When he called to ask I can here her yelling at him and being nasty. Which is so uncalled for I did not once give anyone a hard time about this whole situation (even though I was freaking out inside) They ended up giving me a 15 foot truck and ROSE once again said when I returned it I would be credited mileage upon my return. Well I returned my truck and had the girl call and ROSE never put in the system that I was to receive any extra mileage as all. I tried calling yesterday and was suppose to get a call back and never did. This is very disappointing.Tracey W.

Your software on the computer really slowed the whole process down. The lady was very helpful and was doing her best but it needs to be updated. Your restictions on what can and can't be hauled are very excessive too. Your online data said the vehicle wouldn't fit and needed a check up before towing.
