The staff went above and beyond on a very busy rental day.
Scott SDespite being on the phone for 30 minutes to finalize the quote, it was not accurate when I arrived. Jay, the Compass representative was very helpful in trying to rectify the issue. Once it was fixed, I was dispatched a truck that did t start. Had to go thru the entire routine again - took an hour to get a truck - Jay was great but the U-Haul quote and dispatch system were jacked up

Lyndsey MThey did not ask for my proof of insurance. I got charged $57 for insurance. I got the quoted price of $610 for a 26foot uhaul with a tow dolley. Tow dolley had to picked up at a different location and they were no problem. Thought I was paying for the package at this location but she charged me for insurance and didn’t ask for a proof of insurance and didn’t tell me

david rUpon pick-up truck had obviously not been pre-checked. After starting the truck there was an indication of a low tire on the right rear. I exited truck and notified the attendant who checked the right rear tire pressure. The pressure checked out okay. The attendant said it should be fine even though the warning light was still on. Turns out it was really the right front tire that was low and I properly inflated it at my residence. I had to stop to re-inflate half way through my move.

Philip LExplain what the $0.79 per mile is for. It's not for gas, I had to put $30 in the truck to top it off before returning it. It's not for renting the truck, you advertise $19.99 or $29.99 to rent this truck. It's not for insurance, I payed extra for that too. Now I rented the truck because I didn't have a choice in the matter but expecting to pay $29.99 for the truck, $10-$20 in insurance, and $30 for gas totalling around $90. This is a lot different from expecting to pay that and paying out what I actually payed out which was closer to $160. This $160 didn't even include a cleaning fee, because I washed the inside and outside of the truck before I returned it. In short I'm saying you need to advertise the $0.79 per mile so people like me aren't caught off guard when they find out about it. I mean you are going to charge it either way, so why not be upfront about it so people can properly budget for their rental truck. And also don't let the customer assume the $0.79 per mile is for gas and then at the end of the rental process say "oh ya you have to top off the tank as well. Gas was $2.69 per gallon, only used 1/4 of a tank and that tacked $30 on to the deal on top of the price of the contract.

RICHARD SThe rear cargo area did not appear to have been cleaned by the prior renter. I pulled the rubber liner out and hosed it off before I made my trip. Very strong smoke smell in the van, but I'm not sure much can be done about that. Van performed well, but the low tire pressure signal was all the entire trip and when I checked the pressure, everything was fine. I returned the vehicle better than I found it. That said, the staff at Compass Self Storage was exceptional. I interacted with two different people, and both were highly professional and very capable.
David SThe app was very tedious and I ended up putting the same information into the system 3 times. The link to upload the photo of my drivers license the day before didn’t work. Called the customer service number and waited 30 minutes for the person to tell me they’ve had several complaints for the same thing and that it didn’t matter anyway because I’d have to put it in again the next day when I picked up the truck. When I went to return the key to the drop box, it was too large to fit into the slot. The redeeming thing about this rental was the woman who was able to work with me at the site. She was awesome.

Judith BThe truck was driven 7.1 miles and it took 7.25 gallons of gas to fill. My contract was for a full tank of gas to start, but at 1 mile a gallon to drive it, there seems to be an issue. I left a note and gas receipt in the drop box. Still waiting to hear from the vendor.
