The staff at the local business was very courteous and helpful. They worked diligently to get me on my way. Unfortunatly, the computer software was not functioning as it should. The check in / out procedure took way too long. After further exploration, I discovered it's an internal issue with the U-Haul online system used by the local dealer. I confirmed this issue is being experienced by two other dealers.

JOSPH DMake sure that that their are 10 foot trucks available and u-haul pick up trucks flat bed pickup truck in the Granite City Illinois location . Also we had to drive all the way to WoodRiver to a small 10 foot U-haul truck because none where available in the granite City IL Illinois location not even a u-haul pick up truck. Also the 10 foot truck they had was available had Cat hair all over it and my baby and myself are allergic to cat hair and the inside of the cab was covered in cat hair 😔

Michael RWas able to pick up my trailer just fine, but they did not have the furniture dollies that I had on my order. They didn't charge me for them, so that was good. They tried locating another store with dollies, but ended up just telling me that I'll need to drive around to find some. I ended up calling around and finding some myself, but I feel like I shouldn't have been able to add the dollies to my order if they never have them.

Coleman CMay 23, 2023 First off my biggest complaint is that I called the UHaul Dealer in Bethalto, IL stating that I wanted to rent the trailer with the motorcycle chock. I was very clear about this. The employee at the Bethalto UHaul Dealership said they did not have this type of trailer at their location, but the Wood River location did have one. I said fine. The Bethalto UHaul Dealership took my information and set up the rental. When I arrived at the Wood River location, the only trailer there WAS NOT ONE WITH THE MOTORCYCLE CHOCK. As I was on a restricted timeframe, I had to take this trailer and make due. I was very unhappy. I think I should get a credit to my card for the wrong unit being rented to me when I was told the unit I wanted was available. Also, the right blinker and the right brake light did not work on the trailer. I was not our connector as we checked this out. So, the trailer I rented was (1) the wrong type I requested, and I was told it was the right one and (2) the equipment was defective. The person at the Wood River location was nice and knew her job. I have no complaint with her. DGP

GARY CIts a liquor store thats more focused on selling alcohol than renting trucks. I reserved a truck online, and then got to the store next day to have to wait 3o minutes to get a truck. The clerk had no clue what he was doing. I offered my confirmation number and he didn't want it. So he had to call his boss who was not at the store. He laid his cell phone on the counter while his boss booked another reservation. The boss on the phone gave me some brief details and then the clerk gave me the keys. When I returned two hours later, the clerk took the keys and sent me on my way. He didn't check the mileage or the condition of the truck. Then I get an additional charge the next day with no explanation. Terrible location and even worse customer service!

ANTHONY EWaited forever to get equipment. Took them forever to talk to the guy on the phone to figure things out and we had already reserved the dolly on my phone with my cardlong before. I was also supposed to get a refund for the rest of my money they said it would show up on my card but it still has yet to show up on my card. I would have went to a different location but i scheduled pick up for as late as i could and the other locations were closed. Most locations around here are pretty decent but this place was one of the worst authorized uhaul rental places i have been. Will definently look elsewhere next time.
Joshua Sfinished move aday early. only had truck Friday night to Saturday. again 24/7 AP apparently has to be done in daytime pictures had to keep taken over an over was raining an a true hassle.

Jerald RThis was not the original drop-off location. I was texted a new location while I was en-route to my destination. This one was further away by a bit and was the second of three changes in my reservation. The third change was that I had reserved a 4x8 trailer and was later told it was not available so I had to go to a 6x12 which I did not need and caused me to use more gas and make my vehicle work harder. If I was able to reserve the 4x8, I should have received that size.

KATHLEEN Htry better not to charge the customer for more days then what they ask for. i told you i would need it for about 4 hours and you charge me for 2 days so i was not able to get my money back for what you did. if you trying to boost your rating don't charge more then what they ask for.
Anthony RI picked up the truck and I noticed the drives side door was difficult to open, and very hard to fully close. Also the three dozen furniture pads/blankets that I ordered were not with the truck. I called the customer service # and told them about the missing blankets. I had to go to a uhaul facility about 20 minutes away to pick up the blankets that should have been in the truck. Before we started our move I fully opened up the door, and inspected the door/door frame. I found the attached bolts that secure the door hinges had backed out approximately 1/4 inch. I tightend up all the loose bolts, and the door closed/opened as it should. This should have be brought to the attention of uhaul maintenance personnel by the uhaul personnel repositioning and inspecting vehicles upon return. This was very obvious that something was wrong with the door. It took less that 5 minutes to tighten up the door hinge fasteners. Other than that the truck ran great.

Sandra KIt was ok, until I got a text from Uhaul saying I had not returned my rental truck, 17 hours AFTER I returned it to the same location I rented it from. Late that evening I got my receipt, so I guess they finally did the paperwork.

Michael AThe floor of the trailer was greasy and dirty which left black, greasy dirt on the bottom of everything that was sitting on the floor. I don't think it's a good idea to run a U-Haul operation out of a liqueur store. The staff performed well but you have some people in line to rent trucks and trailers and others to buy a six-pack and a pack of smokes.

Martha CI received no help putting on or taking off the trailer. The employees didn’t seem to know anything about the process of renting equipment. I wanted to use a smaller location to rent from to help out a small business but that backfired. I’ve rented equipment multiple times over the years and have never been this dissatisfied with uhaul. Theres no reason for me to have to hook up or take off the trailer. I will think twice before I use uhaul again. I just want to say I don’t generally reply back for surveys but iam really unhappy with the service I received.

David SI didn't have much interaction here, as it was as simple as dropping off the keys. The staff here was friendly, and the parking lot was easy to navigate for drop off. I was very happy to find a drop off location that was very easy.
