Someone must've used the van to haul bags of cement as there was all types of grit and dirt in the back of van. It did not effect what I needed to move but it was dirty inside.William T.

Trailer was rented without an inspection. When I hooked up the trailer myself with no assistance offered I pulled up to the door and expected an inspection. When I said would you like to inspect the vehicle the rep said "No your good'" . That shoukd have been a red flag for me but I missed the clue that he didn't care about my safety. When I arrived home to load the trailer with moving contents we noticed at 3pm that one of the tires was bald with zero no tread on one side and worn down to the cords of the tire with a hole the size of a dollar billl. We created an online claim and followed up with customer service twice as the 90 min and 120 min estimates turned into 4 hours and 30 min wait for service plus 35 min to change the tire. Later that day we also noticed that the wires were unplugged in the rear trailer lights and the assessors light was popped out and just a bare hanging bulb. We fixed the bulbs ourself because we were already late for our travel move destination. We highly suggest this renter agency be contacted by corporate and remanded that inspections are part of his job. He gave us an inferior trailer with a serious tire problem. This could have been worse if we were on the road with a blowout. Whew. Thanks for allowing this feedback forum.Greg R.

My uhaul experience was horrible. My first appointment under 224 651 5664 was changed by uhaul and I never got a the confirmation call. My other reservation at the Berkley location had to be rescheduled elsewhere because I waited there for 2 hours and never got the uhaul. It is obvious they don't inspect the trucks because the uhaul at the Hodgkins location had the left headlight out and the passenger seat literally had dried urine over it. The location blatantly overcharged me. I put 5 miles on the vehicle for a quick move. They subsequently charged me for 49 miles. It even showed only 5 miles on the sheet sent with the 49 mile charge.Mike C.

The guy were I had to get the key was not too friendly. Headlight was out, had a hard time starting the trick with the key had to fiddle around with it. The truck had a odor inside the cabin.Christopher B.

I think UHaul and its customers would be better served if this location was described as essentially self serve. The location is a BP gas station. I dropped off the key at the counter with the attendant who told me he would check in the truck and send me a receipt in one hour. A UHaul regional rep called me the next day to ask me when I would be returning the truck. I explained that I already had returned it, providing detail. I received the receipt later that day. The location of this site is convenient for me, so I will likely use it again but will utilize the self serve features.PHILLIP R.

Terrible experience. Simply terrible. Made a reservation on your site on Thursday for Sunday (8/1). Got several email confirmations from you. My truck was NOT at the specified location for my reservation time (11:00 a.m.). The folks at U Store It then told me my truck would be available at a different location -- which was surprising. Drove there, and they said that my truck wouldn't be available to 4:00 pm. -- which was awful considering my move logistics. Went to your site, and it said, no, my truck was now at a THIRD location. Drove there, and they said no truck. Showed them the email FROM YOUR SITE, and they said, sorry, there was nothing they could do. Called your helpline, waited on the phone for over half an hour, and they said that the truck was available at 4:00, and there was nothing they could do. I've rented from UHaul MANY times before. I will now start looking for alternatives. Not only was this a terrible experience, but pretty much everyone I came in contact with basically just shrugged their shoulders. ZERO real customer service. More like "well, take it or leave it." Not great.James W.

CTJM was great! They saved our move. We had originally rented online at another U-Haul location that was closed when we arrived to pick up our vehicle. There were also two other people waiting to rent vehicles at the other location. I'll always specify CTJM from now on.Scott M.

When I picked up the cargo van, I failed to check the back. Arrived at my destination and there were blankets in the back the van. Upon returning the vehicle, they argued that those had to be mine and they would charge me $50 if I didn't remove them. I said ok, I will throw them away. They said I couldn't use their dumpsters to do so. So I was forced to touch and transport the blankets. This made me furious. They need to ind out who is sleeping in their vehicles at night.Tashena J.

Pay more attention to the reservations. I reserved the truck at 3PM for 6 hours. I didn't leave the rental location until 3:25PM because a truck was not ready. They were apologetic for the wait but I had people waiting at the moving location.Keith J.

Pick up is located within a gas station. Understaffed I had to wait 40 minutes in line to pic up the keys despite on line check in. I was waiting in line with customers who were purchasing Sunday morning papers, milk, lotto tickets. Very disorganized. Finally checked in and the U-Hall van smelled of old cigars.Ellen O.

Van wasn't available at my pickup time. Was offered no explanation, just told to try again next day. Next day, was told no van available, but given a 10' truck. Truck was old and used a lot of gas. Also cost more per mile. Then charged for 2 gallons at premium even though I put in gas that I thought would.cover the distance. When I called, the person was very blunt and accusatory, and hung up on me. Between the van not being ready, the switch, and the rudeness, a bad experience.Dan N.

Service was great however the truck had tire pressure light and rear hitch light on while driving. I asked and they said everything was fine and it was just the sensor. Later the check engine light came on which was disconcerting while driving from Milwaukee. Ultimately the truck ran fine.Steven G.

The staff was perfect. The equipment was ready to go though it was a very old trailer. Unknown to staff would be the trailer leaks at the top right corner in rain. (made a mess out of boxes and contents that were in the corner) It appeared uhaul tried an inside repair with caulk that didn't work.Dave S.
