I was charged an additional $39 to refuel the truck ($9 for 2 gallons of gas, $30 for a "fuel service fee") despite only driving the truck 14 miles. This is especially scummy, since the trucks are advertised as being fuel efficient. I referenced the receipt before returning the vehicle, and I saw no difference between the level of fuel that was expected and what the truck had in its tank when it was returned. These hidden fees made up almost half the total cost of the rental! For these reasons, I will not be using U-Haul for any future jobs, and will strongly advise anyone who asks to find other alternatives.

Lower the price it’s too expensive for less than 10 miles
AMALIA RI’m n the first truck I was assigned the low tire pressure sensor was on, but the manager said it was fine. Then I drove the truck about a mile and the windshield wiper broke. They gave ma a second truck that worked fine. When I got back and turned in the truck/key, I asked for a receipt. They refused to give me one and said that it would be o line later in the day. I left the building not knowing what the rental cost me. It was a terrible experience
FREDERICK REasiest and smoothest rental I’ve experienced in my entire life (and I’ve moved 16x as an adult plus rented vans to deliver large artwork). Could not recommend more! With insurance etc cost less than $90 for 4 hours - not many miles but a few pickups and drop offs within Providence.

TRACY PThis U-Haul 15' foot truck was in poor condition. The cab interior was unclean with sticky spills and dirt on the dashboard and floors. Driving this truck felt insecure. The brakes were very soft. The steering was loose making it hard to keep the truck driving straight. It seemed as if the transmission was having difficulty shifting into higher gears. Driving this truck felt unsafe but due to trip scheduling, I could not return the truck in exchange for a different one. I would like the $25. cleaning fee refunded because the truck interior was exceptionally dirty and had clearly been rented to me without proper cleaning.

LUCA SI am following up about a safety issue I experienced while renting one of your U-Haul trucks. After picking up a U-Haul truck from the north providence location and driving out of the parking lot and onto the highway, the drivers side mirror was spinning around in circles. You can refer to the video attached for reference. This was extremely unsafe as I was on the highway and could not see when I was trying to switch lanes, and maneuver in moving traffic. I almost got into multiple accidents which could have hurt or worse killed my self or another driver. When I was finally able to get home, I used my own duct tape to secure the mirror into place. Duct tape is NOT a safe method for holding an essential mirror in place on a vehicle, especially the size of the one I was driving. I spoke to multiple people about this issue and the response I got was “okay” as if this was not a big deal. There were no other available trucks to use that day and I had to be out of my old place and into my new place within the day leaving me no other choice but to use this unsafe truck. I would like compensation for your company putting me into an extremely dangerous situation for not only myself but all others driving around me. Please tell me what my next options are. Oh and also, get the mirror fixed before you put another person into the same unsafe situation I was put in.

Umer MThe attendant at the location was incredibly rude to my nephew when he went to pick up the truck. He proceeded to swear at my nephew and tell him he was not a priority and made him wait 30 minutes past the scheduled time. Furthermore, I called twice to speak with someone about the situation and was told I would get a call back which never happened. The total cost was close to $200 and we had to deal with unacceptable treatment and zero follow through or accountability. I always use uhaul for moving needs but will start considering my other options following this experience.

The dashboard has a warning ⚠️ about needed to be serviced. The truck is literally begging to be serviced. I returned the truck early because I couldn’t take the smell & it felt so unsafe. Even after buying febreeze spray with my own money and spraying the truck down it still stink. This was A very, very bad experience.

When I picked up the uHaul it was mentioned to return by 12:30p. I returned at 11:50a and things got very heated when I asked the gentleman to check the rental back in. stephen cThis is the first time I rented from this location. The truck was not maintained well. The oil service light was on. My destination was only a short distance from the rental place but it cost me $35 to put the gas in to match what was in it. Truck ran terrible but I was not taken seriously when I said it needed maintenance. Will never rent from this location again I did it because it was so close to where I had to go.

Gillian SVehicle was dirty - filthy in fact. The maintenance needed indicator light was on (tires needed air). I had to pay for air to be put in tires and do it myself. There was a hole in the top of the truck that was only evident when the hatch was opened. When I reported the Maintenance issue to the store member that gave me the keys, he told me to call uhaul. It took over 30 minutes to get through. The service was horrible!

Laura MTruck had no gas when I picked it up so I had to put $40 dollars in gas when I wouldve only needed to put $20 to get my job done. Truck was damaged when I received it and it wasn’t reported in the photos by the last customer so I had to report it before I started driving if I had missed the damage seeing as I was in a rush I would’ve been held responsible for the repairs. The damage was an obviously dented driver side door which I reported and a less noticeable cracked driver side mirror. Trucks need to be checked better and gas needs to be reimbursed to customer when the vehicle is left on empty having to fill up before your trip takes you out of the planned route which added extra mileage and time for me.

Jason SThe location and staff was great, and made it a very easy process. UHaul's automated CRM system could use some work. I reserved a van for 8:00am... and yet, the UHaul system sent me a confirmation saying that my reservation was at 12:59pm.
