joe eWhen I rented the equipment needed for moving i was told that the $60.00 rental deposit would be refunded back to me when I drop off the equipment at the u-haul drop off address where I was driving to. I paid cash and they said it would be refunded on my visa card and had the last 4 digits to my card, its been 15 days since this deposit was supposedly made and I have yet to see anything refunded on my account. I have asked both u-haul places; the one I picked up from and the one I dropped off at and I feel as if they have both givin me the run around!!! Very disappointed that I have to take time out of my busy schedule to chase down my money that was supposed to be refunded to me after returning the equipment!!!
Ashley SThe man working at this location was great; however, the experience dealing with U-Haul from the booking and everything up until retrieving the U-Haul rental was TERRIBLE! I booked to retrieve the rental from a spot 2 blocks away, only for U-Haul to move it to this location 30 min one-way away the day before pickup. Note to those looking to book - when you book the sites you select are only “PREFERRED PICKUP” locations. This needs to be much more clear on the website at booking. They made it sound like U-Haul is going to call and confirm your appointment the day before, not completely reroute your day. In addition, I did not get a “phone call” as noted in booking, I received an email. Not only that, I spent over 2 hours on the phone with U-Haul I tried to get a closer truck - which they were unable to accommodate - and then getting sent to where I had booked the rental to pick up the dolly I had purchased. Even though the website said the U-Haul had the dolly “ready for pickup” when I arrived it was not…. I spent an additional 30 min waiting on U-Haul to cancel my order because they could not fill the order as they had no dolly’s for purchase…. In addition, I had to request additional miles for the rental, because it was impossible to complete my scheduled move having to drive the truck from the lot 30 min to my house. This whole process was entirely inefficient and I felt like I got the complete run around from U-Haul up until the actual pickup of the vehicle. Poor communication and notices throughout the entire process up until pickup.
NEVIN HMy only issue with U-Haul is the reservation system. I had considerable extra travel time, fuel cost, and mileage charges because i was sent to a different dealer than I requested. I would have been better off going to my local dealer and making my reservation in person. I would have saved at least $30 in addition to an hour wasted driving empty. I can’t recommend the reservation system.

Angela Seven before the rental, the owner opened the door after closing to help me determine the best way, round trip or one way, to rent. He then helped me determine which truck size to rent. Very helpful with no guarantee of business.

Tommy PNOTE: this complaint is NOT about Dam Storage Units; it is about the original reserved pickup location. UHAUL's reservation guarantee means ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!! I reserved a cargo trailer at White Rock Boxing in White Rock, SC for a 2 PM pickup. When I arrived at the location at 1:50 PM, no one was there. I called the number and a gentlemen told me he was on the other side of town and would not be able to honor the reservation. I called Customer Service to complain and find the closest available because I was in a time pinch to pick up some furniture an hour away before the business closed. The lady on the phone defended the UHAUL provider in White Rock, saying that I only made my reservation the night before and therefore she was giving him the benefit of the doubt that he did not see it. EXCUSES! EXCUSES! What an inconvenience and awful experience!!! What is the point of having reservations for a particular pickup location if you are not going to be open for business?
