The pickup location had to be changed from my original location. This added about 15 miles to my drive. I received confirmation that it would be available at original location but upon driving past Gordon Landscaping on Saturday 03-16-26 I saw no dolly units. I called and never got a call back from Gordon. I had to call U-Haul to find a location that I could pick one up at. I feel that the ball was dropped by U-Haul Booking, as if had not checked on Saturday, Monday would have been a most unpleasant surprise! The staff at Dam Storage was fantastic!

FLORY FI rent trucks and trailers 1-2x a year. Mostly it is cross country, Boston to Seattle or Seattle to South Carolina. I plan about 30 minutes for the time I pull in the lot to the time I'm leaving the lot all hooked up. This is usually a little extra, but if you're not ten minutes early, you're late. This time it was just a one day trailer rental. We've been having strong snow storms, so I called a few hours before my pickup just to make sure everything was ok. As soon as I said my name, he told me exactly what I rented and said it's good to go. I arrived 15minutes early and left 5 minutes before my rental appointment! On the return didn't call ahead, just showed up 2 hours before I was supposed to. Not even 10 minutes later I'm leaving the lot! Specific things that impressed me: 1. On the return, I asked where I should put it. He asked me, "how are you backing up?" I told him pretty decent and he show me exactly where to park. He stood in the correct position and flagged me in like a pro. 2. On picking up the trailer, midway through the paperwork, I opened the app and saw I could upload my license . I asked if that would help and he made it clear that I could do it there or they could take their own pic. I used the app since I was already there and it worked on the first time. 3. The guy was just genuinely kind. 4. There was another store that was closer (by about 2 miles) but it had a lower rating. Google maps street view shows no uhauls or uhaul signs, those always have problems. It was just so fast without being pushy. Can't think of anything to improve on.

RUTH Drecommendation: collect and drop any rented truck to an actual person during business hours. the Uhaul app is unacceptably poor. I booked the truck online from my desktop, got a message to use the app. The app confirmed booking but from a different location than the location I selected originally. I went to the 1st location I booked (with receipt in hand) and the employee there told me the reservation was for a different location which I had to then drive to. Then upon arrival, the app asked that I confirm a bunch of things, and wouldn't continue until I "uploaded" pictures of front/drivers side etc... When the app prompted me to use the phone camera, the camera came on, but no way to take a picture. had to back out, go in again to get the picture button to appear. was almost done uploading final pic but backed out 1 extra layer, and when I went back, all photos were gone. So frustrating. I won't use the app again for anything, if I ever rent again.
Brian AWe returned the equipment when they were closed; therefore, we did not interact with the personnel. The lot only had one spot available in which I could park the trailer. Had there not be an available spot and no one present, we could have had an issue.
