All went well with the local dealer and I highly recommend Dave's Auto. Corporately, I would advise customers of all special conditions during the reserving process. I was not told that I would be picking up vehicle from different location than where I initially reserved it.

I had a TERRIBLE experience. I made the reservation online for a one-way move, from a location that was 2 miles from my house, and it showed availability. However, the day before my move, I was sent an email asking me to go 20 miles away to pick up the truck, and it wasn't a one-way, I had to return it to the same location, 30 miles out of the way from my new house. I was charged for 87 miles, when in fact I spent 50 miles just to go out of the way to drop off and pick up the truck, which wasn't told to me at time of reservation. I would NOT recommend u-haul to a friend after this experience.

the workers at this location couldn't be bothered to check the truck when I delivered it CLEAN. They put things in the truck and claimed that it was my mess. I was charged an extra $40 for this and can't dispute it as they sent a picture of the mess outside of the U-Haul truck. The mess was not inside of it. I'm still in the process of fixing this discrepancy.

I asked if he could show me how to put the tow on and he said "didn't I give you the manual?". I said it would be better if he showed me because I didn't want to make a mistake. He then responded, "I will do it for $25". My response, have a nice day. It didn't even have the cable to connect to the hitch for light hook up. I had to go the U-Haul on RT 9, in Old Bridge and they provided me with one. I will never go to Dave's Automotive nor recommend them, very unprofessional!

I have hired the U-Hall truck on 07/30 and returned on 08/01 @ 00:30 AM. I have hired the truck from Woodbridge and returned at 669 Somerset St, Somerset, NJ 08873. So i used a truck for 2 days. But, when i checked credit card statement, amount deducted $274 and $175. I spoke to customer care and given ref number to resolve this issue to refund amount in my card. Dave's Automotive were courteous, professional, and friendly. Answered all my questions by phone before I arrived. Made sure I was well informed, the trailer was clean, and that I knew how to drive safely with it. They even gave me some helpful hints on how to get to my destination (which was below Nashville, TN). Could not have had a more pleasant experience!

I reserved a truck at the Avenel NJ location for Sat morning, I got there when it opened and there were no trucks available. The employee working there was the most unprofessional person. Every sentence out of his mouth had multiple curse words, and for some reason he told me he wanted to punch his bosses girlfriend, he was going to beat up the people who hadnt returned the trucks and that he hates religion. It was ridiculous.

I rented the truck just before closing on Friday and said i would return it Saturday afternoon. By 9:30am on Saturday in the misdst of my move I already recieved a call from Dave wanting to know if I could bring the truck back right away so he could rent it out to someone else. In the very beginning stages of moving a whole house that's just the phone call I wanted to recieve. I brought the truck back in the time frame agreed upon but since his shop closes at noon on Saturday I was charged for an extra full day. I also recieved a charge for using furniture pads which we never touched and somehow two back and forth trips to our new home (5.4 miles away from the old one) came out to be 46.4 miles. What I anticipated to be a $100 venture AT MOST turned into nearly $200 charged to my debit card and when I called to question this Dave was somehow able to pull of part of my invoice but not all of it to address the charges I felt needed clarification. Never again will I utilize this location.

When renting the van, attendant should have stated conditions for gas refill before returning vehicle. The insurance recommendation was helpful and necessary. The additional fees were excessive. The $19.95 a day turned out to be $142.50 of which $50.00 could have been avoided if properly advised before renting. I will be contacting customer services regarding some of the fees. Always read the rental agreement before signing
